Mihoyo Takes Legal Action Against Sellers of Pirated Figures. Three individuals, Hu, Zhu, and Zhang, were found selling unauthorized replicas of figures from Genshin Impact and Honkai Impact. By selling these unlicensed copies, they broke copyright laws. As a result, Hu and Zhu were given 10-month prison sentences, and Zhang received a 9-month sentence. They were also fined around 460,000 yuan. Mihoyo has made it clear that they will continue to use legal means to protect their products and the rights of their fans, ensuring a fair and safe environment for everyone.

China has always been known as the "king of copycats" as they can copy anything in this world, but it seems that this time these people have paid the price for their actions
Making and selling unofficial Hoyo merch (Including one that features their characters) isn't illegal, they even made a post about it, but making bootlegs of official merch is. Just to clarify.
Hu?
Meanwhile Touhou fans are happy of Pirated and fake merchandise, the creator doesn't give a shit about it W ZUN and W Touhou.
If it sells better then it's better than the original XD
people sell/buy pirated figures bc not everyone has 200€ for a fucking eula figure
Severe but justified.
Are hoyo the first company to arrest someone for selling bootlegs?
TERI TERI
Nanbaka mention in 2024 wtf
Well, thats good move from Hoyo,,
China trippin
Nanbaka mentioned. Automatic like
Guys, hoyo is ok with fanmade merch as long as it's not a very big quantity. What they don't allow is copying their official merch and selling it. So if you create a sticker, for example, with one of their characters and sell 100 copies of it, it's ok. If you sell 10,000 copies or if you replicate a sticker created by them, it is not.
I don't want to be a company bootlicker, but it's normal for them to battle bad-faith counterfeits. If the quality of that product is questionable, people may think it's an original item which will affect their credibility. Also, it's just plain theft, and if not stopped, it may lead to new restrictions for normal creators who respect the rules.
Zhang sold them out for one less month. They got him with McDonalds.
My nude Ganyu figure is just standin' there
Im staring at that one Jing Yuan figure maker. Survive bud, survive
Hoyoverse does allow you to make your own Genshin merch AND sell it because of their loose Copyright, but it is limited.
This is one of those limitations
