Mihoyo Sends Private Server Operator To Jail – Genshin Impact 5.0

miHoYo has recently pursued legal action against those operating a private server for Genshin Impact. The primary individuals involved are Yin and Wang. Yin has been sentenced to four years and six months in prison and fined 130,000 renminbi for copyright violations and fraudulent activities. In addition to managing a private server, he misled others by posing as a miHoYo staff member to solicit money. Wang, on the other hand, received an 11-month prison sentence and a 90,000 renminbi fine for similar copyright issues. The case also includes five other individuals. The court has mandated that any illegal gains acquired by the defendants be seized and returned to the state.

  1. Genshin private server is not illegal? then solve this problem from these two contradictive premises:
    1. you're not allowed to make profits using unlicensed intellectual property of Mihoyo.
    2. running a private server needs money and time. a lot.

  2. One day, the game's story will end, the plug on the official server will be pulled, and we'll be hoping there will be some intrepid bunch like this to pick up where it left off, so others can still continue to enjoy what has been made.

  3. Instead of going after private server.
Why arent people after games that has many anime character inside? Like character that consist of DBZ / Naruto and etc etc.
like i have seen so many chinese company that made those and they dont get sued.

  5. Idk I feel like if I just had all the characters in Genshin and have them C6 it takes away the accomplishment and I wouldn't feel like I would want to come back to the game. Not sure if that is what they were doing though since I didn't read the article, but I assume that's what they would do on a private server.

  6. Why the private server lol.. we have private servers back then because nexon was a biatch.. a lot of games from Nexon was inaccessible to different countries and global servers often 4 patches behind
