  1. tbh, i feel like this was how he's supposed to be without all of that trauma and manipulation by the fatui πŸ’€ man's a people pleaser. probably rooted from the thought that ei had abandoned him because "she had no use for him". also, even though he acts arrogant to mask his vulnerability, it's also just his way not to get too attached from any human being again. in the quest, he mentions that he would almost think that he could be qualified as the traveler's friend, if only they don't have such a bitter history. and in his in-game voicelines, he often mentions that it would only be dangerous if the traveler wants to get to know him more. when i placed him on my teapot, he said that he thought we're the type to leave our guest to fend for themselves. he clearly developed attachment and abandonment issues because of his experiences, and with the intervention of the fatui πŸ’€ that's why he kept an arrogant, cunning, and superiority facade as a way to protect himself from any more intimate relationships. when we met him like this, without all of the horrible things he'd gone through, he seems to be more trusting of people and always willing to do something for others without anything in return. he trusted us so easily even though he didn't know us, and from the scenes of him with the vendor, he says he's willing to be his helper and it's okay not to pay him any mora. i think he's supposed to be naturally kind that he often prioritizes other people before his own.

  2. Not gonna lie, i felt bad that i must drag him back to Nahida and recover his memories. He seems far more chill and happier in this, i kinda wish to leave him alone an be a wanderer.
