Natlan, the land of exclusive FOMO design. They've been taking notes from Apple I guess.
One of the problems with dps Mavuika also stems from the types of Natlan characters we recieved. Outside of the only 2 Natlan supports that work with Mavuika, which Xilonen is a universal support, we've recieved mostly dps units. Had Chasca and/or Kinich/Mualani been replaced for Natlan supports, Mavuika's role as a main dps wouldn't have much problems since almost every Natlan char was built around her. Chances are we're getting an additional Natlan buffer (better if buffs exclusively Natlan chars) to solidify Mavuika's role as a main dps, and/or we get another Natlan exclusive artifact that enables Mavuika to out dps Xiangling through buffs
I feel like its wrong saying you dont need natlan units for her when you use her as a sub dps because if you do you won't burst and if you dont burst her dmg is lower than a 350% er xiangling which gets her burst back just by existing because she has so much er.
Just realized something insane: remember how Arlecchino has her scythe exclusive to one weapon, so if you want drip you have to try harder or pay for it?
While that was purely cosmetic, Mavuika and natlan units have this same tethered relationship. The worst part is people were theorizing that the pay-to-drip would extend beyond cosmetics and into actual gameplay and characters.
Well, this is it. It's happening.
I like her elemental skill, the wide area let's me try a lot of combinations.
Like it's making my Noel get crystallise shards easy.
Also the exploration with going up terrain, over water, boost flying is just so dam good…. had to C1 for the extra mile.
To me Mavuika feels weird for a few reasons (which are, like i said, my opinion) they are:
1- She really doesn't bring nothing new, usually archons have a little twist on their elements that makes them pretty good (venti had the best CC at the start of the game, zhongli shield is amazing, raiden absolutely changed electro, nahida is by far the best unit of dendro, furina makes healers extremely good while giving amazing buffs) Mavuika is a main dps and a off field/sub dps, but we already have a lot of pyro damage dealers (Arlechino is still top 3 dps in the game) and almost everyone should have a xiangling build by now, so why would i waste my time building another character just to get a slightly better off field pyro support
2: Her design is extremely weird, and to me this is a problem of all Natlan, the region itself feels…off. What i mean is Natlan is not a developed country when compared to Fontaine or Sumeru, at least it was never established before, and the whole region fews like it, but then you have the DJ things, the instruments that they use on Mavuika's trailer (like mondstadt still using lyres when people in Natlan have Keyboards, mics and eletric guitars) and her motorcycle, so it just makes the region feel weirdly out of place, and mavuika herself does not really give much archon vibes (she does but is like she is the adopted sibbling in a family with very distinct characteristics) to me she is someone who rides a motorcycle, not the leader of a nation that has been in war for the last 500 years
3. She really limits team building if you want to use her as a main dps, since you need more natlan characters (mainly Citlali and Xilonen) and she and citlali are in the same cycle so most f2p won't be able to pull for both
4: To me this is the main one, a large part of the playerbase are f2p or simply casuals who just play the game to explore and don't care for abyss. So in this case let's use a example: I fall into this 2 categories but i play the game since version 1.4, i already have A LOT of 5 stars and all the 4 stars (except ororon and gaming) and a lot of them are build, i already wasted my time grinding for their artifacts and i am not going to use them in Mavuika because i have characters that are good for exploring (kazuha, scara, mualani, kinich) and i have a fully build xiangling and arlechino, so why would i pull for mavuika when i don't need her? Unlike with the other archons (with the exception of venti since power creep absolutely destroyed him) pulling for her won't increase the amount of teams i can build (which to me is what makes the game fun, exploring with odd combinations, like ayaka melt with yoimiya as the pyro unit) she instead limits it. Also players that are just starting will need to pull for other natlan characters to make her fully viable which can feel restraining

Mavuika entire outfit is a huge miss to me. Not only that, but to know that she rides a motorcycle, yet we had to ride those hot air ballons to save lives piss me off once you remember that so much more could have been done if we had a faster mode of transportation, and that not only she has a motorcycle. CHASCA can FUCKING FLY. Then not only that, if Fontaine is supposed to be the nation of almost modern technology. Why does the cast of Naltan have advance shit like flying guns and motorcycles or even skates?
5:12 perhaps they changed it so that the uptime is exactly 100% before the live servers? The cooldown is 15s and the full drain of blessing state is also exactly 15s (even beyond 100% uptime on c1)
i think when i get her ill build her off field playstyle bc with power creep as it is i feel building as a sub dps has more future proofing. i think she's gonna go the way of the shogun where shes the best dps on release but down the line i think she's gonna be primarily off field.

I don't like the motorcycle. I mean, I like it, but not in Genshin. It really doesn't belong. Chasca's gun still has enough fantasy vibes to pass, but not a bike.
I got Xilonen, lucky. But I think I will skip Citlali this time around, so I can get Arlecchino's scythe. And I want Mualani too.

This is Text-to-speech, so forgive whatever we are formatting. This creates, but I think you were a bit unfair to her. The entire point of that land is their night soul blessing, state and their idea that no one fights alone. And that's what she does as an arkhan. She works with her region's mechanic which is nightfall. Just like how Fontaine used h. P mechanics. And using nightzle is what sets her. Apart from other pyrocharacters and as an Arkham, so the entire last bit of the video is just a bit too critical and missing the point I think.
Edit: Holy shit the TTS on my phone is so bad. I essentially said that she embodies Natlan as their archon because Natlan is all about nightsoul, and no other pyro dps so far uses nightsoul like she does. It's unfair to call her out for the limiting nightsoul mechanics and then claim she doesn't do anything new with her kit as a pyro user when it's all about said nightsoul elements.
Also to add, I think her marketing looking different is on purpose. A HUGE part of her character is that she's just some normal person. All of Natlan's archons are just normal people blessed with power from nightsoul and the gnosis. Of course her marketing and vibe will be different! She's more on par with how Jean operates as a local authority that people know and love but don't see often due to how busy she gets than someone like Shogun: the latter is untouchable to the general public. Nahida comes close in characterization, as does Furina, but anyone who's finished Fontaine knows why Furina isn't a fair comparison. Nahida is still considered godly to her people despite trying to interact more, so it's still different for her. They are GODS. Mauvika is just a bloke who's blessed and has some more wisdom because she did some extra stuff that I won't spoil.

Tbh they need to either rework nightsoul and not make restricted to natlan only or rework all chars so they have some benefits outside natlan

The thing is her kit is perfectly fine for what type of character she is and what her story is. Besides she can work perfectly fine without Natlan characters even at c0 it's just for some reason everyone is a meta slave and treats this game like a competition or a game of life or death when it's not. It's a video game more importantly a video game where you can play who you want, it doesn't matter who is stronger and who is not. Honestly "meta" has ruined this game entirely because everyone is spitting at each other instead of just going about their day. It's mainly just the arle simps now because "oh no she got powercrept" stop saying that and go deal with it, it's not like Arle is completely deleted from the game.
Just play whoever tf you want it's that simple. Sorry for being this way but the community is really being annoying now with all this crap.
i was fully gonna skip her and citlali, but got her accidentally while trying to get starglitter & bennett cons. i don’t know if i’m really even gonna build her. i’m still busy trying to build neuvillette and zhongli which i just acquired, and from this patch i only wanted tartaglia and arlecchino.
if she only works with natlan characters, i guess i have kinich and ororon? but that essentially means using a whole new team setup just for her, which is … i dunno

My builds are shit underwhelming anyway, I pulled her for exploration's sake in Natlan because she can do everything and I don't have to quickswap between Scara, Cloud retainer and Yelan all the time 😅
I will have to either somehow clutch Citlali or lvl up my Kachina for gods sake now…as a F2P who's been underwhelmed by previous Natlan characters…
Hot take: I think the skill CD is the only problem. They can just shorten it a bit like 10 sec.

I just wish mavuika was tan. I'm still very disapointed with the natlan character designs.
Pyro MC together with her is all you need if you didn't bother with any nathlan characters like i did, of course pyro MC becomes much less useful and back to mid tier outside the final boss, but it's still useful to fuel mavukia.
so you really don't need the others, cithla is a massive dissapointment.

tbh im way more annoyed about how weak she is in exploration. Them showcasing her with the motorcycle being able to fly/swim/climb when it basically gives you about the same distance traveled as ororon hover or kinich swing (if even that much) feels like a token ability. If they at least made it her whole nightsoul bar even if it cant interact with phlogistan it wouldnt feel as bad.
Xilonen was the only Natlan character I really liked. But Chasca's gameplay, and Citlali's viability changed it. I have all natlan characters so far except the boring ahh Sasuke wannabe.

You know I would not mind the whole tech thing if the whole nation was into it as well, not just a side hustle/hobby for playable characters. Like why is there a flying motorcycle and a flying cannon, but the people still travel by hot air balloons?? Not saying you can’t have old and new things under one nation, but c’mon really? Motorcycle is one thing, but a flying canon?
Yeah, if I didn’t pull for all archons as a rule, I would not have pulled for her.

I have nothing to say about current Mavuika today because just like tradition, she'll just get better with time and more natlan characters.
One thing I dislike though is that her skill is something called Battle Armaments and…THERE IS NO WEAPONS.
Like yeah the bike and lasers as really really cool.
But from that skill name alone you would expect her to summon various weapon conjured in flames. This would feel like she's really the god of war.
Anyways it's a minor nitpick of mine.

I pulled for her but I was clear that she was not a character that deserved to consume the 100% so for my part 50/50 and if I get her fine if not skip. First 50/50 I've gotten in about two years or more.
Kachina is the only natlan character I have and she's at c0. I'm not pulling for any natlan characters and I don't regret it. I don't take kindly to being coerced into playing a certain way or being restricted on what units I can bring on the field if I want big PP damage.
I hate her motorcycle but I thought that on her release at least it will feel good to use it despite the horrendous design but no not only it looks terrible, it feels terrible too. I'd rather use Xilonen or Chasca to travel around and on top of that in combat Mavuika feels too chaotic with those animations and even if I'd like her design she's the most unplesant character to play in the entire game

As someone who hasn't played Genshin in nearly two years now:
I'm just happy seeing that flying bike animation. I still laugh at the concept, but hot dang did they make it look cool.
