  1. Let me be clear. This is the last and only time I will be talking about this whole thing. It has been blown completely out of proportion. I cannot help you if you choose to NOT watch this video. I will reiterate that the Wuwa community has been just as crap as the GI/hoyo community on several occasions. This thumbnail situation is NOT why I left X – I left the platform because it sucks and this was one of like 8 different situations that made me confirm and realize that it was time to leave. I recognize that it is impossible for people to not speak badly about me at this size and i guess visibility on the channel. If you're still angry or agitated all I can say is consider that a game doesn't define you or your emotions and you owe it to yourself to take time to separate yourself from the creators that cause you to feel badly – if that includes me, I applaud and encourage you to do so. This has been 8 months coming and while I'm sorry it came to a head its about time we discuss it. I wish you the best!

  2. Just know you did nothing wrong so there is nothing and no one to apologize towards.

The energy you bring and the genuine reaction from your reviews is always refreshing and I hope you continue to be you. God bless and be safe

  3. man i love genshin but i wouldn't excuse white washing. just know that we know you are right and that part of the fandom is just there to ignore like you don't even have to explain yourself im sure ur audience is not from that part of the community anyways. And i really appreciate of you talking about natlan situation in the first place ❤❤❤

  4. and i have to add i love watching my fav content creators doing variety because i don't even enjoy just playing one game all the time(and yeah gacha games becomes boring for that reasons you mentioned) so it's so stupid to expect them to do the same yeah i discovered your channel with genshin but stayed for the quality content

  5. Awe I was shocked to hear when all this drama was happening towards you. Such a nice person just reacting and admiring video game music. I'm just glad it never truly got to you and you pulled through. Twitter has become ultra negative with the puppet Musk having changed it to pay more for rage baiting. You keep doing you Marco. I send love and musical notes your way 🎶

  6. Like if I'm being fr twitter algorithm increases the negative takes by which not everyone share the sentiment, and if we have different opinions they'll be attack. I don't do engage in twt aside from retweet the fanart.

  7. But the thing is you need to understand that genshin business model only focuses on mainland china, japan and korea so the planning about the game based on what those people preferences including beauty standard. It's really different if we talk about hoyo game after genshin because it seem they use different approaches. Changes in genshin on a wider scale like global probably only happens when there's genshin part 2.

  8. Personally though I love the game because of the story not the skin, and I do think that hoyo is not racist because the real poc (not a fiction character) still given a chance to be part of the game via natlan music etc. But that just me. There's still a lot that could be improved and I agree

  9. It's still wild to me how people would go above and beyond to protect fiction yet can't spare the same effort for real people. Can't imagine how miserable you have to be to harass someone over a game, especially over a thumbnail. It's such a shame that you have to go through such thing for voicing your views over a goddamn video game.

  10. As Genshin and wuwa enjoyer i feel you i had to deal with alot of negativity of like “oh this games is better than that” or “this is better then that that” tbh its tiring i take no side i like both games and dont like both communities cause they compare and they just find and excuse to take my fun and enjoyment away like bro they just want to play wuwa and hate genshin and i just said no i dont wanna play alot of gachas and dont wanna interact with the community altogether and aside of that i had to delete cause there a bunch of narsasictic people and i dont like it but look just play what you want dude and i understand so yea thats my opinion again genshin and wuwa great games peak games to be exact and yea thats all hope you feel better dude like your content : )

  11. Before i start, i love to say i play both genshin and wuwa.

I think.. the "Knight" of genshin or wuwa who defends their game like defend their self from robber, is very st*pid.. i believe people who play genshin & wuwa almost of them is a grown mature person, but by doing that Defender role for their game, they just look like a 5 y.o child who compete to compare whose toy is better and didnt care about other person who get hurt because of their fight.

Everyone can have their own opinion, everyone can have their favorite game, but everyone didn't have any right to force what they like to others.
Everyone have their own reason for loving something, for chose to play something, if its different from yours you cant do anything about it.

If someone love something in a certain time, then they didnt love it anymore or just met a better one, just remember that people is always change, acually people must change.

So stop being st*pid, be a good fan of what you like, respect other person decision, other person choice.
And if find people making hate to something you like, just ignore it, block it, remove it from your yt environment.
Debating with st*pid person will just waste your time and energy.
Always see in a postive side.
e.g : With wuwa release, now we have 2 free world (Teyvat and Solaris-3) to explore. See ? there is no problem with that.

  12. Hi Marco, god i felt awful listening to what you've been through.. Yes when it comes to fanbases and player we both know some people are just awful on how to react to an opinion. I hope you can still process this, I don't agree with some opinion that you have on some OSTs but hey that's what makes an opinion and still looking forward to how you react to OSTs. Keep strong Marco I still support

  13. find you with 5.0 Natlan Symphony, check your channel and watch more game music reaction
peaked when knowing you reacted to rhythm game music because this is my main genre that i follow

honestly any game has their toxic side of community, even a small indie game I know because I follow some title
genshin community rn look like the most toxic community in gaming but really it's still the same loud minory but you already know how MASSIVE genshin is so you can imagine how big the "loud minorities" are

I will keep following you because your reaction are great with video format that I like (not much pause mid song) and your message in this video is beautifully conveyed as your reaction videos

tho p.s. even some of your comment section starts another bickering arguing which community is worse lol

  14. Honestly felt the same way about x for a long time… every time i log in in my main account it's just pages and pages of hate and rage and it just genuinely feels miserable to see. I tend to stay away from social media outside of memes, but x hate always seems to bleed into everything
Idk maybe the users on it are just mad

  16. this is actually very good news. we will continue to have Great videos, with WuWa also still Genshin and other games! Games sometimes are my whole life, but for Me music is something different and it can't be controversial or be a victim of dissatisfaction of other game aspects. i will always love soundtrack music as much as I do now, even if i one day i will hate the game or every other aspect of my life. music is just Love and that's most important, YT videos and other aspects of functioning on the internet are hard and Hejt unfortunately is everywhere, So stay well and enjoy the music if you ever feel sad about it ❤

  17. I've been turned off GI because of the lack of diversity since day one (I'm just simply not a fan of the super soft and cutesy brand of anime art, with peace and love) so to see a tweet that expands upon my inner thoughts be one of the inciting moments 😭😭😭 Jesus I am so glad you're not using the abomination formerly known as Twitter anymore. 🙏

I'm glad you're sticking to your guns, but also glad you're still going to cover occasional GI content, because the music will always be peak. People need to understand that if a creator isn't enjoying their content, it lacks the passion it ought to have. It sucks when creators move on to stuff I don't like, but it'll always happen eventually.

  18. This is why we wont get a civil discussion on certain platforms, where no one can express something different if it goes against their political ideology.

Natlan was so weird for me like Mihoyo didnt do a proper research about Mesoamerican Culture

  20. Here because of Saintonas's video featuring commentary from this one. As a musician who left Honkai: Star Rail (where I loved the music) for Wuthering Waves and Infinity Nikki, I really liked what you had to say. Thank you for bringing up the point about using Latino and African music and just making a world with no Latino or African characters.

(Also performed pieces from opera, but never professionally.)

Dogshit genshin community happened. Unfortunately. I feel shame being part of it. Seriously they just hated guy for no reason for enjoying another game. What a shame. Love your channel, job, attitude , please dont listen them. With all respect your russian fan. If i can somehow help or support you let me know.

  22. Don't worry, Marco, I'm someone who is mired in the gacha world and I think most people do realise its a horrible model. Anyone who thinks it's good is deluding themselves because doing otherwise requires them to face some hard truths. I think it's the same kind of feeling when someone 'attacks' their favourite game. Some people are blessed with the ability to grow up and be mature about things. Others…not so much. Nothing we can do about that. But it's incredibly unfair and childish to lash out at someone who is just reviewing the music of a given IP.
You forge on and do you. You put out plenty of polls and community notes asking opinions – your regular viewer base really can't fault you for this when you ASK what we want! Also, I haven't played WuWa in a long time, but seeing the short of yours with the 2.0 Fairy Tale song? It's got me looking back over there thinking I should really catch up because it looks (and sounds) gorgeous! I can't stop listening to that song now! Gacha definitely shouldn't be the defining content of the channel, but when it's got something worth looking at, then you look at it, and I can respect that.

  24. I was worried about this sort of thing when you started covering gacha games. It was always a toxic community even before genshin was a thing. Please don't let it bother you, your content is amazing. There was nothing offensive about your video and just because others were offended by it doesn't mean you should take a step back and be more "neutral". People are gonna be offended regardless, they have this mindset that when games compete with each other that means it should be personal. It never should be.

  26. Your comments about Genshin mirror my own thoughts. It felt REALLY weird to enter Natlan with this great exhibition of cultural music and then get into Natlan and there's no representation in the people. I'm sorry that the crazies made this into a whole thing and harassed you over it. Saying that was weird doesn't mean Natlan was BAD or deserved a boycott. But it did deserve us commenting on it. And I'm happy that you did comment, because more people needed to see it and recognize that it was weird. That it was not great.

Twitter is garbage. Its been reduced to anger, prejudice, and hatred. That's just true. I've stopped using it too.

I will say that I think the problem with the statement that Wuthering Waves is 'doing something different' is entirely derived by the fact that the game's mechanics personally resonated with you. And I'm super happy that Wuwa is resonating with you. That's MAGICAL. When a game really resonates, that's wonderful.
But… the game working for you doesn't mean the game is doing anything fundamentally different. It just means that it resonated with you. As someone who loves all three games in question – Wuwa, Genshin, and HSR – very much, they're the same. They're fundamentally the same structure at their core. They have slightly different focuses – Genshin focuses on exploration, Wuwa focuses on combat, and HSR focuses on strategy. They all have moments where the writing is great and moments where the writing is mediocre. They all have music that's great and music that's mediocre. They have different strengths and weaknesses, but they're the same basic game and they're doing the same things.

That all being said, I'm just very happy for you that you're coming into your own and this channel is doing well for you, and I'm sorry that people are being awful to you. Even if we disagreee with you, we should be able to be respectful and not insulting. And I think that's something that gets lost a lot online sadly.

  28. why is twitter like thisssss, how are you even racist for trying to push the game to be more culturally diverse and racially diverse. This is legit just people being racist themselves. And thank god you quit twitter. But still tho time management is key. Twitter people are making the gacha community worse. ITS ALWAYS THE FANDOM (just like mha HEHE)

  29. Hey Marco, I'm a bit late, but I just wanted to say that you should play what you like. I myself stopped playing WuWa in 1.1 because I didn't have the time for Genshin and WuWa and I didn't get on that well with the battle system (skill issue I know). The most important thing is that we have fun. That's what we play for, isn't it? 🙂

  30. Lately it truly turned to be terrifying to criticize genshin for anything. Like even worse than before, from when Natlan started and the attempted boycott happened. One wrong word, one mention of Hoyo's colourism, and you end up with death threats 😔

  31. Treat these people as loser bottom feeders.
Their life is all based on a videogame and they'll never amount to anything in life with that type of toxic mentality.
Just ignore them it's hilarious to watch them triggered over a videogame when they aren't even being entertained by the game, the game company is being entertained by them lmao.

  32. Hey Marco,
I almost never comment on any platform, and I know I'm late to the table here (I doubt you'll see this), but I just wanted to extend my encouragement and support, and say that I agree with everything you said here. I know you don't need my input to keep doing what you're doing, and that's one of the many things that make you great, but I wanted to put in my two cents as someone who has some overlap with you.
For context, this is from a college student who grew up loving music, loving video games, and then loving music even more. I'm a classical pianist and a music theory nerd and that's where most of my knowledge lies, so it's awesome to be able to hear from you the interpretational side of music (to cover what theory misses), and the vocal side of music (to cover what piano misses). I'm biased and say that voice and piano are the best instruments (in that order).
I had no idea all of this was going on, and I'm very sorry to hear that the toxic sides of these communities jumped on you, and I'm proud of you for calling them out and sticking with your guns. I play both Genshin and Wuthering and love both games a lot (for overlapping and differing reasons), and I'm super glad to see you find things that you love, whatever it may be. I'll admit that I've fallen into the comparison trap myself – not in a toxic way, but in a way that makes me forget that games can just be evaluated individually. But either way I'm saddened that people get all up in arms over preferences and personal analysis, and I'm sorry that you've had to bear the brunt of so much of it.
I actually found you through Genshin, but stayed for the music and for the Marco. I love the type of community you foster here and I'm glad you're fighting to keep it that way.
Also, as a fellow very sensitive dude who has struggled to own that, it's great to see you be open about that and firm about that.
I stayed and am staying with this channel because you're authentic and you're all about simply appreciating music and its power, and I'm glad to hear it affirmed that you're doing it for that reason too.
As long as you're you, the people who stick with you will be the people you want to be around anyway. Keep doing whatever makes you happy and is YOU.
    Those are my two cents.
Thanks for reading, whoever made it. And thanks for braving my repetitiveness and commas.
Don't forget to listen to your heart and take care of yourselves, everyone.
    – some random young man

  36. I muted genshin impact on twitter and my timeline has been worlds better. I also only interact with a few content creaters, mostly lore enthusiasts, and I also interact with a ton of artist that are inspired by Genshin and other games. Ever since then my timeline has been mostly positive. I'm a fan of your work and even though I wasn't a huge fan of the thumbnail, I'm aware of the type of content you make and always look forward to a new video. Natlan grew on me the more I explored and did the story quests, but I am glad you and several other CCs and VAs spoke up about the misrepresentation bc I also felt the same way. It needed to be addressed. I wish more people took it seriously and had constructive conversations around the topic. People can learn alot about culture that way, and I find that to be a plus even if the game fell short on that part.
