There is hype for every new character
People who have yoimiya diluc raiden xiangling they are excited for her
But People who have hutao or klee kinda undermining her at this point
I didn't care about how strong she is in meta.
She's HOT! That's more than enough for me.
It's always the case when a new character gets leaked the one coming at that moment will become overshadowed. It's a viscious cycle
I mean….. Shogun level no with the delay she may get a lot more hype Idk how I feel like I don't wanna overhype but at the same time it feels good being excited for a new character

There definitely is much hype about her and I get it. I am one of the people hyped for her. She looks great designwise, she can probably do things other characters cannot. And she is new chharacter, shrouded in mistery. People love that. I cannot wait to know more about her lore. Also art for her looks delish. Everytime I see her, I feel hungry for some reason.

I think Yelan's hype is lower than Itto's though. Itto had lore crumbs that were thrown every update before his release unlike Yelan who just popped out of nowhere. Yelan being in the meta is carrying her imo.
Hype… No hype…. Don't matter. I am going for Armpit Impact.
I find her pose hilarious and so awkwardly uncomfortable looking.
If she is the 2nd fatui harbinger.. she will be my 4th fav char.. my first 3 fav are raiden, yae and eula..
I think Yelan’s hype is very similar to Hu Tao’s hype on her initial run. Raiden’s hype was outrageous. We were losing our minds just finding out how she looks like.
It started very strong for me but with all the supposed nerf, I went down very quickly !!
Raiden shogun hype is unmatched also because she brought out honkai fans as well. Additionally, her banner sales were inflated by mihoyo resetting the purchase bonus for crystals right before the banner too.
She is cool but for some reason, Genshin makes it hell to build characters so I probably won't pull for her. I would pull and spend more it wasn't so tedious. Yes, I know Gacha, but their are other games that aren't so demanding. To be fair, the other gacha games are like on their 5th or 4 year so a lot of quality of life changes have been made. I can totally see the gaming experience improving in a couple of years
Her recent nerf turned me off. Not pulling for her.
After falling for the Yae hype and pulling for her day 1, I'm never making that mistake again. She's probably going to be an exclusive 5-star teapot furnishing until the end of time. Gonna wait until Yelan is properly tested.
I feel like there was a lot of general hype for Inazuma and 2.0 and not all of that was for Raiden.
And general hype is at an all time low right now so I'd say hype between characters is pretty similar.
Remember when in that animation during the Moonchase festival, everyone was like “OMG!!! new form of Madame ping????” Then they assumed her as Yelan. But now she is actually a really hot lady which I assume to be rich as hell.
I'm personally rolling for her because trying to roll for ayaka has yielded lost prayers fsr ;_;
Also, I need another bow character besides sara and amber
I've been wanting character similar to Xingqiu since 1st time I played Genshin. So she is a must for me. Going to pull her until C2, wallet kun is ready 😁
