is she RELEVANT? the state of Ganyu in 3.0 | Genshin Impact

Ganyu’s seen some unexpected changes with the release of 3.0, so this video will explain everything you need to know (new AND old players) about Ganyu’s relevance to the game and more specifically the meta.

Slight correction: In the video I mention that Ganyu “generally enjoys shields” when I should have nuanced one aspect of that statement a bit better: In the right situations in freeze teams and when you’re rotating correctly, she will not need a shielder.

  1. I got Ganyu right before I fell into the rabbithole of artifact farming so I had 4 pc blizzard with 38/208 after just a week of farming and never considered improving her more. She’s by far my least invested character in my comps and is my go-to for bosses and domains. She’s powerful in the open world and I’ve only ever used melt Ganyu in the abyss. I usually run Zhongli, Xiangling, Bennett with her on one side and it’s very laid-back compared to my other team. That being said, I do actively avoid using her in open world simply because of how easy she makes things, running Klee and Tighnari which are my other dps units (and former Yanfei) instead.

  2. Dendro just made electro more meta and it needed that. The new bloom and aggravate reaction is fun to play but is just the new thing for now. Cryo and pyro are still powerful but just less used now because they are less useful in overworld… pull who you want you wont be disappointed by the workaholic qilin 🤙

  3. One thing to consider is that she makes the general game almost boring to play. Having really high damage at a really long range makes everything super easy. With that being said i love to use her she is great.

  4. Ganyu is an amazing character for 99% of actual gameplay, since most people probably do Abyss once and done. Ganyu trivializes daily commissions and pretty much all enemies that aren't cryo-immune, and she can do it from 100m away with zero setup lol.

  5. I have Ayaka but not any good artefact for her while Ganyu… I don’t have her but got almost a full perfect artefact set for her so I’m going to pull her. Going to see what she can do with Dendro but for now I have C6 Xianxling and C5 Benett with Zhongli at C0.

  6. Propably my most broken unit with several cr 50 artifacts and amos but the playstyle is sooooo boring to me and charge times are terrible expecially when your ping is high on phone or when my 5 kids are all on the internet while on ps4

  7. Been a Ganyu main since her first rerun and all I can say is she's a comfortable DPS. You don't have to activate skills, subdps, whatever, just go ham and aim that arrows at mobs and she kills enemies for you. No need for that hassle of setup. Different case for abyss of course but I used Ganyu on every single 36 clears I've done so there's that.

  8. Im new to genshin and played with a free team : amber (lvl40), kaeya (lvl 50), xiangling (getting her to 50), and Noelle (im an upcoming noelle main). I realize that I love playing bow characters and I can literally cheese every world boss just by hidin and shootin', and I heard about ganyu for so long. I want her to replace my amber (which is why she only lvl40) since I realize amber is so useless when she isn't cheesing. So i was thinking of doing a thicc portecc + dmg + healing from my noelle, xiangling sub dps, kaeya sub dps, and ganyu main dps strat, would that work or does the elements just not work with each other (i still dont understand this whole elemental reaction shi since im a casual.

  9. oh the fridge team you used (ganyu kazuha kokomi collei) is exactly the team i used in one of my runs this abyss lol (second side being heizounational, no 5* weapon :D). Id like to note tho. I was being funny and my ganyu is 100% off field with an er bow, and kokomi had 4p clam with em/em/healing bonus. somehow i got all stars lol (i did post it on my channel, since it was quite fun).
That aside I agree with all your points. I have ayaka for longer than I have ganyu, so I find ayaka easier to play. Overall I do think ayaka is much more simple to use (and therefore squeeze in more dmg that isn't lost by interruption and missed shots lol), but ganyu is more interesting if you like trying different comps. The typical morgana or melt ganyu are just basic, you can use her as cryo support (as I mostly do) in many teams. For example, I like using her with ayaka on mono cryo, but freeze also works amazingly well (particularly if you have kokomi but alas). And I also using her as support not for another cryo dps, but rather for teams like fridge (bloom + freeze) and kokomi teams in which she is on field with 4p clam (so kokomi + cryo + electro + flex, usually an anemo but can be a battery like xingqiu).
So like, pull for her if you like her playstyle. If you have ayaka you really don't need her unless, again, you want to try smth different (reason why I pulled, I always intended to make her my support for the heck of it, even tho rosaria fulfills the same role, sometimes better). so yeah

  11. Ganyu is a character that doesn't need constalation, and need no energy or battery to be played.
She is also very good with F2P craftable weapon, and she can fill multiple rolls at once.
As much as I dislike her playstyle, she is a very very cost efficient character for F2P and Low spender.

She is not stronger than Ayaka, but Ayaka is a DPS that require battery to play and depend on her Q.

    Ganyu needs nothing.

If you don't like any of them, and you're broke, Ganyu is really cheap as a character.
