If you can afford the resources, why not 90 them? Getting the resources is big grind though. But getting two lvl 90 main dps shouldn’t be a big problem. Plus if you wanna clap the boss cheeks, you gotta go as high damage as possible.

Actually i upgraded my 5 char to level 90 😂 Mona, klee, benneth, Hu tao, Fischl. and i am planning upgraded my Keqing to 90 too. why so much… i think cause i have enough book
I thought that if you were lower than monster level your damage was gimped slightly and at same level or higher 100% of your damage went through
Lvl 90 is better with higher skills
TL;DR lv80 to lv90 gives 4% dmg increase.

also when you get to be able to level to 90/6th ascension level you get the increased talent levels to increase your damage,
so ascending to 6 is good if you want that talent damage
although im pretty sure it takes more resources leveling the talents than leveling to 90
leveling characters that scale on hp/def/bennet is also real good to get to 90 for the free stats
How u get 117% geo dmg? subtract the 24% from lvl ups, 15% 2 piece, and 46.6% cup. that leaves an extra 32%. i just cant figure it out…
So the increase in damage may seem meager but thats PER single hit. So I mean yea one hit does a few hundred more but like…. multiply that by however many gems she hits with in one move. The difference is much larger. As for her shield I mean yea it increased by almost 1k in damage but let's be honest, it's much better that way and it largely benefits the shield as well as the buff the shield causes in general.
172 purple xp books just for a small stat difference that you will barely even notice? No thanks. Not to mention all the wasted xp you would have accumulated if you're planning to use your characters long term outside of Abyss. I keep my damage dealers at 80(ascended) – 85 and they do well enough in Abyss by getting full stars. What matters more are artifacts, weapons and talents.
Getting the last ascension is worth it though.

I think we should just ascend the characters to L90 but without leveling them up
for talents yes also depending on character lvl 90 can do justice for your whole team depending on the buff they give etc /elemental mastery for example venti would be one of those u def raise to 90 and why not if you enjoy playing that character it’s much easier to do that then get all the artifacts to 20 imo -.-
To compare you should at least do 5 runs doing the same thing and averaging it out for both before comparing the difference. Attacks have variance and don’t always hit the same, sometimes you might even get a hit on crit every once in awhile and will give you the wrong idea of how that character does. Doing one test for each or only recording the biggest damage you see without taking into all the other attacks you did will bite you later when you enter the spiral abyss at higher floors and you are wondering why you aren’t doing enough damage even though once every 4-5times you are doing the same setup you are hitting for 30k but the other 4 times you were averaging 15k for example. Kinda pointless.
