Is Genshin Impact Traveler a Fraud?

After the recent fight with Arlecchino, I was kind of surprised at how easily she beat the Traveler. So, I decided to reevaluate every single battle from Traveler’s past and check their actual power level. Who was helping them and who wasn’t, what was the situation at the time, etc. And the results are quite surprising as you can see from the video’s title (at least for combat prowess). I hope you enjoy the video 😀

  1. I wanna believe is that the traveler very much has a lot to learn on how to fight even stronger foes by himself, In the mean time, The friends and allies he's made along the way helps him, For sure. But at some point he will have to fight for himself and it shows how much he has to improve if he want's to even stand a chance againts Tsaritsa herself.

  2. Traveler is just a poorly written character in my eyes. Paimon too but that's another topic. I find it difficult to be immersed in the world of the game when the character I'm controlling isn't even really changing or going through character development. Whether it's combat or dialogue.

  3. i think it’s interesting that you consider each harbingers number to be equivalent to combat prowess.
in reality, it could be how large of a threat they are, and perhaps this also includes manipulation and diplomacy rather than an all-out brawl

if combat ability really did equal their rank, why hasn’t Childe moved up the ranks now that signora’s and scaramouche’s seats are empty?

  4. As me who not playing Genshin, but watch too many genshin videos, I noticed that Aether/Lumine is didn't even make a progression. Like, the main character should progressed, with ups and downs, and slowly turning it into a powerful being (not quite but enough to beat the main villain). But no, Hoyo made Aether/Lumine a freaking tour guide that tours every events, every characters, every places rather than making him/her a main character who makes progression throughout the whole journey.

  5. It's supposed to be my adventure yet it fail to have a lasting impact on NAMED characters not those dull random npc that we save but are nothing. The recognition traveler will get is beating some hilichurls along the way.

  7. I’m deadass convinced the Traveler’s gotta be one of the stupidest MCs ever bro, like Genshin Impact’s main story could’ve easily ended right there if Arle didn’t spare him/her

  8. Seeing that fact that gnoses are "remain" of 3rd descender and hold elemental power, I can assume that MC body is kind of that. He can be the vessel to hold powers from different source, just like in Liyue battle with Osia, battle with Ei, battle with Scaramoche. It's never MC own power. The only time MC truly won was Signora. MC helped people, but MC is not the center of Teyvat. I was surprised that people say MHY nerfed MC to sell Arlecchino. "MC didn't use his elemental power" isn't matter, even when he used he could still lose. To me MC was never that strong. Besides, the battle with Arlecchino is not life or death situation so it's reasonable that MC just couldn't push his limit. (Also Signora could be far weaker than Arlecchino, eventhough only 4 positions gap, consider that top 1 of Harbinger can be compared to God.)

  9. honestly now i'm very interested as to how Signora got defeated…By all means, we should have a buff for that to happen, or Raiden straight up helping from behind. Realistically we would be mashed potato there.

  10. 13:39 I would like to counter and argue that we must remember, according to confirmed lore by I think Tartaglia and some Fatui (correct me if I'm wrong) that the Fatui Harbingers ARE NOT numbered and lieted in terms of full physical strength.

The whole community is trying to still figure what it scores off of, with Hoyo themselves being coy and secretive, likely saving it till the end of the quests in Snezhnaya.

  11. I have always said that to my game friends that traveller never actually fight a battle by himself alone without any help , he always gets the power of somebody else's to win that fight

  12. 13:31 i'm pretty sure it's obvious that strength is not all there is to the rank of Fatui (maybe until 1-3 spots) like looking at Pantalone as an example or also probably rooster, they don't seem to compare to someone like Childe lowkey but we don't have enough information on that so I guess we'll have (although I heard Pantalone is more like centered around money and stuff and Rooster I don't even know what that guys does)

  13. Actually.. what if traveler is a FRAUD in being weak? So far we've not seen traveler using their actual powers – the speciality of able to use all elements even without visions.

Also with rumor of Paimon being that Unknown God.. who knows there's a twist behind them being weak.

  14. You fail to get the point as to why that is.
Signora was the 8th strongest Fatui, meaning that she was not as strong as you seem to let on in this video.
Take the Upper and Lower Moons from Demon Slayer, if we start from Lower 2 we would be starting with the 8th strongest demon in the 12 Kizuki… now look at the Fatui Harbingers, their strength is measured by their position like the demons, and Signora had the number 8 spot in the ranks of the Fatui. Now Arlecchino is ranked 4th within the Fatui, just below Columbina… making Arlecchino the 4th strongest within the Fatui, and with the Traveler not fully restored to their full strength fighting the 4th strongest Fatui would indeed prove highly difficult.
So before you say Traveler is not as powerful as we hoped… look at why that is. He had his powers sealed and he was facing enemies that possessed powers greater then him. And before someone starts saying "But the Fatui are not similar to the 12 Kizu-" don't… I am saying that the Fatuis ranking system is much like the 12 Kizukis ranking system, the ones with the lowest ranking is the one with powers lesser then the ones with the higher ranking.

  15. My two cents is that the Traveler is pulling a superman, constantly holding back so as not to cause unnecessary damage and harm to others, which is why more often than not they are shown as being stronger than the average "strong" fighter, but are not destroying everyone and everything in their path. Considering that the Traveler while still attuned to Hydro during Arlecchino's fight, they don't use any elemental ability at all, and in Navia's quest it shows they can switch elements on the fly as well as during the fight with Child in the golden palace. That at least shows the the Traveler could very well be keeping their skills close to their chest, heck even in lore the names we pick for our Travelers aren't their real names are are aliases that they use while in Teyvat, confirmed by the Abyss sibling calling our Traveler by name either Aether/Lumine. While literally everyone else either calls them the name we picked for them or Traveler. Which does pose the question as to how much is the Traveler hiding? Could they still be on a god-like level compared to the people of Teyvat even without their original powers, and they're trying to scale to the threat in front of them with some miscalculations here and there?

It leads me to suspect that they might've held back, since for Arlecchino's case, they are trying to put up a good show of strength in order to change Arlecchino's mind about executing the members of the House of the Hearth that wanted to leave, and see how strong she herself was rather than go all out and try to kill her. Not only that but in another comment section someone made a good point that the House of the Hearth is an info gathering arm of the Fatui, so if the Traveler did go all out, then that would be practically showing off their hand to the Fatui which would very much come back to bite them later.
