I've tried every mainstream Gacha but WW (which I'm planning to try with 2.0), and ZZZ is the first one to properly catch me and get me to play more than a dozen hours. The vibe is just perfect to me, the combat feels so much better than the other games, and the story, for me, is really compelling.
I recently deleted my Honkai acct, I was at my limit. Last 3 stories were terribly boring, the divergent universe Herta update felt bad and I hate it and to add to that I lost the last 5 50/50, including a LC banner, and the last too were 80 to fail and 80 to get the character Fugue.
So th moment I was thinking if I could buy jades I snapped uninstalled and deleted my account. That way I know I can't return.
No problems for me, Iβve got Carlotta, Fugue, Miyabi and Mavuika π having fun with all four games, life is good
Genshin – 3/10: game has been falling off constantly, still plagued by more of a focus on mini games than combat, getting more predatory with banners, and setting up QoL features as character kits instead of universal. Waste of time to play
HSR – 7/10: still very fun and I enjoy the story, but powercreep is getting pretty insane, focus on certain play types instead of releasing different archetypes for playstyle across patches (current focus on super break, follow up, etc), story is good but still too yappy, enemies becoming too much of bullet sponges instead of unique and fun to fight
ZZZ – 7/10: great cinematic presence and character models, fun gameplay loop, good story but not great, too focused currently on certain types of characters (anomaly) instead of varying types across patches, very expensive upgrade costs for each character
WuWa – 8/10: good story but not great, amazing gameplay, fun exploration, combat focused, echoes are unique and fun, constant improvement of game through player feedback and dev responses
if all publicity is good publicity, why don't you go to germany and wave around a nazi flag? everyone is gonna look at you and see you, isn't that good?
2030 – this guy is still gonna make videos about genshin cuz its more successful than his fav gacha.
Just donβt get it twisted its not because wuw exists or because natlan is bad its because mainly due to many gatchas/f2p games now existing advertising coming to pc and hitting the spot wuw and genshin could not etc, basically the fan base is more and more divided because of a simple fact, the global shared player base is shared across all games and more games = bigger division of players since there are only so many humans and so many wallets in the wild players will also tend to gravitate to the newer better thing. Genshin understanding this decided to double down on profit for the mavuika citla banner knowing full well their time in the sun is almost up with genshin, this is also why hoyo is developing new properties new games etc.
This is the simplest and most accurate of truths but completely overlooked by everyone for some reason.
Natlan's doing bad during it's biggest patches. Now imagine the filler patches.
How many youtubers posted like this when genshin started and it still not dead? lol
Mavuika and Citlaliβs banners in Japan only just surpassed almost all 2024 Genshin banner in earnings, (that means it probably cleared every WuWa banner combined) what is Baldie on about πππππ
U know when people said there are no genshin killers, it'll kill itself. Please explain how they've fricked up like 1000 times are still relevant π
I picked up Genshin after being a WoW crackhead for almost 20 years, sometime before the release of Fontaine
Given that I had a huge world to explore, I was blazing through it and it gave me the opportunity to just grind more for more power (Primos), the Elemental system seemed super cool at a first glance, but somewhere between Sumeru and Fontaine I realised this game isn't going anywhere, it will just be more of the same – ENDLESS YAPPING
The fatigue started settling in, farming Primos felt like a chore, pulling on characters was still somewhat enticing but I just can't excuse spending money on Banners if I lose a 50/50, just because I'm too bored to actually play the game
Besides why get the newer characters when my 2 teams already suffice for the only end game the game offers (no, listening to inconsequential NPCs talk about their grandchildren/grandparents isn't end game)
A friend told me about HSR so I tried it
Hertas Space Station and Belobog, man that shit smacked my ass, however that was the peak for me and the end game of HSR just isn't my cup of tea
HSR has been relegated to taking a shit at work simply because the Stellar Jades are too free to pass up on, but I'm never hyped to pull on any banner or do anything in the game
When WuWa hit the western media landscape I completely dropped Genshin (RIP Hu Tao, you will be missed) for this new upcoming open world Gacha game
1.0 was so good for me, sure the launch was rocky but it was just a slightly bumpy road for me and all the CCs coming together to make some fun collabs around the game kept me in it
I know how to sniff the copium, but I can also see past temporary problems with projects/games etc so I carried on with WuWa and I don't regret it keeping up with it, especially now with 2.0 being such a banger
ZZZ released and unlike many others I loved the game from the start and yet again, unlike many others I find every patch has been a very gentle decline for my enjoyment, I still enjoy it enough to keep up with it and hoping we'll get some more interesting end game that is more than just a knock-offs of HSRs end game systems
I'm currently only playing WuWa and ZZZ with the hopium turned up
I've been thinking about PGR (became a tourist for a couple of days before ZZZ released and sadly dropped it) as that shit looks fire from what little I've seen about it and the story is actually bearable, atleast the very few Main Story Missions I have done so far
My biggest problem with Gachas is that they are so fuckin fun at the beginning, you have limited resources and a limited rooster so you have to be "creative" with what little you got (yes you can faceroll all these games with a wet noodle and be fine, but trying to be efficient is fun in my book)
But as soon as an account starts getting built and you get powerful enough to slash through anything without much thought and all your characters are built to the higher end of completion, it just starts feeling like a sluggish treadmill
Don't know why I'm yappin, guess these games rubbed of on me in the end
"Genshin impact is dying"
shows graph of it doing the best since day1 against its current competitors in the gacha sphere.
This game is living rent free in kektone's head
Donβt you get tired of saying this over and over? At this point genshin is living rent free in your head. Move on
Never could get into Genshin and Wuwa.
Wuwa was cool for the first hour but once i got to the first city i just couldn't sit through it anymore. I want to get into it but i just can't, I don't know if it's the story, voice acting or just the character designs at the time but i couldn't get myself to play it.
I thought once it released on ps5 id be able to get interested but i still just couldn't, i hear it gets better but man the beginning is rough.
For star rail which i play the most, after penocony my interest has rapidly diminished. Haven't finished any of the quests that came out afterwards.
The only thing im interested in with 3.0 is The Herta. The pink fairy summoner Trailblazer is giving me mega lame first impressions.
This is funny, even Genshin Impact "falling off" is still higher than the other games, even before 1st of Jan as he mentioned 2:41
Tectone is just a bitter genshin cloutchaser at this point. Farming views because of Genshin π I know deep down you still miss playing genshin you dont gotta sound like a crying ex gf that misses her bf tho π’
I've been playing both games and really enjoy them, especially Genshin, as that's how I met most of my friends. I've been playing for nearly four years, and the game still hasnβt lost its charm. I'm not really into the gacha aspectβI donβt care much for the free items because, at the end of the day, itβs a game, not a charity giveaway. The story of Genshin remains engaging, and Iβm still hooked, curious about how it will end. Another reason I believe Genshin wonβt die anytime soon is its rich lore and the fact that people are genuinely invested in it. The skip button will definitely be helpful for avoiding unnecessary quests that donβt really contribute to the storyline.
Yes yes, I'm still yet to enjoy wuwa's lore
that's all love you all π£
lil bro cant stop complaining over a game he doesnt play
I'm somewhat glad that Genshing got so bad, it broke the FOMO cycle for me and I downgraded from being a whale to a low spender. And now, I'm actually enjoying the game a lot more again. There are still a lot of aspects the development Genshin went through since the end of the 4.x patches that I strongly dislike, hate even. But I'm staying on casually for the overall story and old characters I hold dear.
So much hypocrisy and not showing evidence. Next time you make a statement, back it up with evidence. Also βtrust me broβ is not evidence.
>Uses google trends
>Forgets that there is a different language playerbase that uses different words for it
>GAME IS DYING
I agree with all Tectone says, except for the clickbait and controversy he made it look like when it's not actually happening. I believe Genshin can survive for at least 7 years from now on, guess from how well they maintain Honkai Impact(Another live service game) to still keep going. So Genshin not over, and not dead. But surely one day will come but still very long long long for that.
I will say genshin impact was alright I don't really play it anymore but the game was okay, I tried Honkai star rail but didn't really like it at all. I am somewhat enjoying ZZZ but I don't like the instances where everything is linear but it's alright for the most part. I have yet to play wuthering waves so I can't really comment on that but I will probably play it in the future.
I believe Genshin is failing because of the poor decisions they made regarding the game as a whole.
Natlan is probably the only nation so far that is consistently mid (personally loved the story itself, especially the end, the rest is the problem) probably because of the medieval-futuristic blend of the playable characters, the random bike gang leader pyro archon and the general mismanagement of their characters.
Right now my biggest complaint about the whole Natlan is about the very questionable design of Mavuika and the deletion of Capitano.
Capitano was such a great character, a cool magic-knight with a great backstory that is deeply intertwined with the overarching story of the whole game, coupled with a good introduction and narrative surrounding him. Not to mention the years of hype behind him. But they said fuck him. While I kind of understand that Mihoyo is afraid of the lowlife gooner society that they are supposedly targeting with the waifu gacha genre, I believe that market is already filled. Its filled so so much that the available content could fill two whole asian market by itself.
All the while Genshin is not like Girl's frontline which released not long ago. That game leans heavily into the parasocial gooner gameplay, while Genshin is more about the exploration, the gameplay and the world its trying to show us. So why did they have to take away one of the most hyped characters of the game? Just because hes got a dick? He's been loved by the community for years now, even though we've barely ever seen him in teasers and such. But now he was here, we had a great time with him, then they killed him off. What a disaster. I believe he could've been a great addition to the roster, next to Zhongli who is still beloved by the community as far as I know. He could've had a similar legacy, but they didn't even give it a try.
Mavuika's overall design is just cringe. Her direction which has nothing to do with her gameplay or visual design is great, and I see that they still have what it takes. But now this feels a bit like they just don't really know where to go after 4 years of development. So they made a very badly calculated gamble and leaped away from the general atmosphere of the game and shoved their flying guns and motorbikes onto us, and for what? It had nothing to do with the story, it had nothing to do with the nation itself or its direction/story.
Genshin isn't supposed to be dying and is a monolith which can only be destroyed by itself. If the guys at Mihoyo cannot steer the game back on track then it really will wither away. Lets hope they understood the message and are trying to better their vision for the next nation. Who knows, maybe they even bring Cap back, coz he wasn't like decapitated or something.
Just add a hot female character
Are you mint piker or echoes piker?
Idk who believe this bold clown, due this graph WW was dead, before 2.0 was released. It was dead, while this clown was saying that it's alive and selling LMAO
Google treading really means nothing when it comes to how much money those games are actually making cuz the main users who are spending money like crazy is CN and JP players… and they dont really use google platform too much.
There's a guy who are counting the actual income for all waifu-gacha games on Bilibili and Genshin is still way top there, following with HSR and ZZZ (yeah ppl are saying ZZZ is boring and dead but it is making way more money than WUWA.) The only other gacha game got a closer number to thoese hoyo games is surprisingly Love and Deepspace.
Okay so
Genshin: 5/10 – didnt care for the story starting fontaine, natlan was such an incredible disappointment when i saw it, not the "nation of war" and fire that i imagine and the archon to me is like handing in your art project as math homework; also dont get me started on the horrible treatment of the fanbase by the devs
Star rail: 7/10 – love the game, 3.x had its moments, fuck ninja monkeys they killed a lot of my motivation to play, hopes for 3.0
Zzz: 4/10 – apparently im very alone with that assessment, the story didnt catch me at all and to be honest i didnt catch it either? I stopped playing somewhere around fighting sentient construction machinery…; the gacha is possibly the worst i have encountered within the bigger names, ive had better pulls in fate go and girls frontline 2 than in zzz, which to be honest deterred me more than any reason i could list
Wuwa: 8 or 9/10 and only because i havent gotten around to playing a lot of 2.0 yet. Almost everything works out, i couldnt care less about the somnium stuff and most character quests but the main story is great, gameplay is great, gacha seems as fair as gambling can be (except for weapons so far…). Lets just see if it can stay on top of things, time hasnt been friendly to most gachas tbh
the wuwa spike for 2.0 is related to what? new characters, story?
Genshin character masive power creep
Meanwhile old jinhsi still OP
I played ZZZ and wuwa upon launch, stopped playing both around 1.2 (Ceasar/Xiangliyao banners) because I just got bored. Now I'm playing both again, just like you pointed out they did great re-igniting my interest and others like me
I dont play WuWa, don't have slot for it – only three Hoyo games plus Diablo Immortal and I'm waiting for the last cherry on pie Destiny Rising.
Genshin Impact 4/10
Honkai Star Rail 8/10
Zenless Zone Zero 8.5/10
Wuthering Waves 9.5/10
Because Natlan is fucking boring.
Two years ago, I used to watch your Genshin videos every evening. When you started criticizing Genshin, I stopped following you. After a long time, I decided to check your profile again, and youβre still at it. Youβre like a toxic ex-boyfriend.
But watching the Archon Quests with you used to be so much fun.
Not like anyone going to read it but sure:
Genshin newest patch 5/10 while the story is visually stunning, Mavika is cool character, and Citlali is Okey? I mean she works like 5star Diona but EM based, and her signatory weapon can is slightly better than 3 star weapon… The rest of the patch is mid, filler quality we got the laziest coop bug fight event ever without Signature main man Itto, which was as I said before so boring it was horrifying. No new map with the huge resolution of Nathan war, small black loli clan never appeared yet you are treated like best bud by her for some reason. Pyro traveler is disappointment, constellations that ONLY works at 1 weekly boss? Really? Not really, the real constellations are unlocked for clan reputations, but first impression is soo dooming.
Honkai Star Rail – 3/10 of the last patches, they are stretching penacony at this point to the limits, I though the current patch would be 3.0 bit we are having content drought for a few months now. Nothing interesting is going on, I mean sure trailblazer redconned room was kinda cool, but then again you can't decorate on your own.
ZZZ – 2/10 still ZZZ sleeping intensified, I've tried to get back but the game is as boring as it was before, I still think it's honkai 3rd with better graphic and less flashy combat and worse story.
WuWa – before 2.0 was like 6/10 game was refreshing, combat was ok, and the game picked up visually at mount F and black shores, along with the story, 2.0 is 8/10 so far, really cool, really great I get that Fontaine vibes but different, story is nice and interesting and luckily Abby is not another paimon, but occasionally gives few sentences, while keeping your MC an M fucking C. Upgraded versions of 1.0 echos, new echoes, new bosses tons of content. I am feeling the hp bloat on mobs so I expect that power creep will be insane on future characters. But generally top among the four.
As much as how i see that genshin isn't doing well, they have a larger community that they built since the beginning before all the other games came out so im guessing that it won't die out until end game. But as a HSR player though, so sad π€§ but i'll continue to enjoy the game like i always do until Ananta comes out π
HSR didn't hit 3.0 yet? Really?
Yesterday I heard Asomongold was playing Wuthering waves and I was like meh… Lemme look… And Dude IM HOOKED! I really dropped off genshin 2 years ago after investing lots of time in it. I got my account hacked and just dropped it. Also Genshin's story starting getting really lame. But dude! Wutering wave combat, story, characters and art style are massively superior to Genshin!
I couldn't play genshin because I have motion sickness so I was following the lore and I enjoyed but since it seems like hoyo company don't invest that much into the story (And I was invested in it especialky the traveler's lore like who are they really ???) Now I'm just giving up on them.
I can play WuWa but my phone doesn't support it but genshin support on my phone even hsr and Honkai impact 3rd
tldr no genshin is not dying and tectone is a monkey thats all
Iβd say it is strange to say GI is dying when it is a single player game focusing on story at the first place π
60 mil+ increasing active playerbase for almost 5 years nowvs not even 2 mil declining active playerbase. I rest my case π
I play both games, and that will never change.
I wonβt attack or look down upon neither one of the communities because Iβm part of both
No.
Content creation for Genshin is dying. The publicity for the game is dying, but the player base and revenue are not.
