You can also collect all the anemoculous, geoculous, crimson agate, and electroculous to increase your stamina. For me personally, I only pay for welkin and the battlepass sometimes if there’s an upcoming character I want. This game won’t last forever, and the fact that in a few years the game will ‘end’, all your money will be gone with it. Getting characters is of course a lot of fun, however I see it as just a part of the experience, like a puzzle piece. Yes you want this cool character now, but later down the line, there will be another character you REALLY like and might be even BETTER! Saving intertwined fates is the way to go! You feel like a whale when you finally get to spend them! Been saving after Ayato’s banner and currently have 111 pulls for Kazuha and Heizou! Nice video, and a good discussion to have!
I was an f2p for like a year and then I got the welkin and then the bp and then I spent 80 dollars trying to get the engulfing lightning. After that I have gone back to just being an f2p because that money i serpent got me an r2 everlasting moonglow, I don’t have Kokomi.
his friend is supposed to be f2p, and has 6 five stars, 3 from timed events, and one of those, c2, in a couple of months? meaning two months? what?
Sometimes when my friends say Genshin is a scam, I read out their full IP and address to make sure they know their place
for me its just a badly designed "gacha game",(dog sit banners -weapons in unit banners / all 5* units are treated as limited units and only under performing units are put into reguler banner, and the constellation system, no repeating content like guild battel, world boss …etc ) but it is a "nicely" designed open world game(story, animation, character design ,environment, cooking ..etc) the only thing is the gacha is irrelevant for the open world (only if the dev just lock a set event around a lvl cap or a region.

even if the game is not a scam it's not worth my time, i've wasted so many hours farming and the rewards are lackluster at best
I´d say it can be kinda scam-ish. If you are insanely lucky with your pulls, you can get great stuff for free but if you are not, at a certain point onwards you will feel very tempted to spend some cash. I bought two battle passes and 2 or 3 welkins so far because I really wanted the blood knights sword and a few select characters and I am playing pretty much since v1.0. Starting to hit a barrier with certain quests now, which from my perspective, are meant to encurage players to pulls for some "strong" characters (who most of the time only get strong after a certain constellation is reached and if paired with a certai weapon).

Has nothing to do with money requiring to finish the game since this game has no end game. Gatcha games are predatory in design, at some point they’ll get you to spend money on something trivial, as long as their able to bait 2/10 of their audience that aren’t able to control themselves with money they succeed. The game should only be recommended for people with good self control.
Is it a scam in general? Not really (only if you are a streamer or content creator that could earn back those money or you are just extremely rich)
