Ganyu has great multipliers on paper but very little quality of life capabilities and support character time creeping. As a result it takes a lot of effort to translate that multiplier into actual on field damage because you need to spend a lot of time on your other characters to spam skills that ensure Ganyu’s safety, and as a consistent type dps it’s bad news because it eats into your dps window. Characters like Itto, Hu Tao, Raiden, Eula etc does a lot of dmg in a small window of time. For Ganyu, even though her dps is high on paper, but because her dmg is spread out over long periods, any usage of support skills by her team mates means a dps loss on her side. Example let’s say Ganyu does 400k on charged shots and Ult in a period of 15-16 seconds, but because you can only fight in a 10 second window in order to let your supports spam skills, you have to reduce your total number of charged shots and maybe do only 280k personal damage. Mihoyo knows the advantages of burst type dps and that is why they allow Ganyu to have high multipliers, because your team mates will auto nerf your total damage output. If you check out Morgana, Ganyu only fires like 3 charged shots in the entire team rotation, even though on paper she can do more damage by shooting more. Even Melt Ganyu you can only fire out 4-5 shots max per rotation.
TLDR: Ganyu is a balanced character. Her clear time is the same when compared to other dps characters, tho this will prob be ignored because it’s just cool to Idolize Ganyu. Majority of the playerbase are kids and have no understanding. They look at Ganyu doing 180k charged shots and start venting out.
Pink dinosaur. From an AR 58 player’s perspective I think that whilst Ganyu is an excellent DPS, what matters most (in my opinion) is the type of enemies that we’re fighting against and in this current game state there are a lot of enemies with smaller hit boxes, or enemies that constantly move around/teleport.Because of this I feel that Ganyu just isn’t quite as relevant as she once was. The game widely favors mobility or fast-paced range characters to fight against these enemies and quite frankly I don’t believe that Ganyu has these qualities (as a main dps).
Is getting C1 or higher worth?
Ganyu was my first limited 5 star character I obtained using my primogems, and to date my most loved character to use and play. Her charge shots cannot debuff and are very powerful. I pulled Zhongli just for her and it has turn out he was a great addition to my account overall (very useful). Because of Ganyu, I pulled Yoimiya hoping she will be the pyro Ganyu. I was wrong as she can't AOE. (But I don't regret, I enjoy her play style too and she can overpower Ganyu in some cases)

I’m just really not a fan of the character herself. Yeah sure her past is kinda sad but it’s just being an outcast within the new era.
As for her kit I’m not much of a bow user. The play style seems boring to me despite how good she is at dealing with mobs.
As for my opinion on her in general, you of course don’t need her to go through the game. But I’m just really tired of Ganyu being such a recommended character to every new player. Is she worth it? Yeah if you have a plan team and built with her. But do you need her? Eh..

I've been waiting for Ganyu since I started playing. I've had Amos Bow in my inventory for months and been saving a good Wanderer's Troupe set for her. I'm not sure if Blizzard Strayer is better and would really hate to have to farm it for her. Is Wanderer's Troupe still good if I manage to get decent Crit Rate from the sub-stats?
As Ganyu main myself (Lvl 90, crowned, using Harp) with access to Mona (C1), Kokomi, and Zhongli, I can say She is indeed overrated.
In the game current state, She can only reach Her "Broken" Level when you pair Her with Zhongli.
Because its already obvious at this point a lot of newer mobs are getting harder and Harder to be abused by Ganyu Freeze comp, even Morgana.
With Zhongli on the other hand, you can run melt with ease. Or just Spam Her CA and finish the job no problem.
So unless you have Zhongli, don't expect Her to be as broken as people love to claim.
Though i must admit Pairing Her with Ayaka is also Broken. They work well together surprisingly.
All 5 star bow characters(Venti, Ganyu, Yoimiya, and Childe) are amazing, that’s a fact.
Of course, in there own different way(Aka play style).
And honestly, I’m sure future 5 star bow users, will only get better overtime.
I don't think that Ganyuis a Pink Dinosaur. She makes killing ballons in those quests a piece of cake. I just land in one spot, aim, and shoot. . No need to run after the ballon. Meta changes in the Abyss with each 5-star release so chasing after it is not efficient imo. In the end, pull for whoever you like.
She was overrated but now she isn't.
Worth it or not, as a waifu collector…..yes! It helps she's op.
I definitely will pull for her cuz she reminds me a lot of my bow playstyle in every Monster Hunter game. Its okey if yall get bored playing with her, but for me who played the same role (bow user) over and over in Monster Hunter for many ages, feels just right. 👌

Ganyu Or zhongli
my main dps are eula and Hu Tao and Keqing, I am torn to choose between zhongli and ganyu. I am pulling for ganyu because I have amos bow. My utiliy character is kazuha only. Should i consider ganyu or get zhongli?

Ganyu's strong point is that she can fill many offensive roles, including plain support. Its not just her Charged Attack dmg.
She's still cracked, even by today's standards. This current Abyss is her personal hell but that might aswell change again.
Problem is… she's coming back with Zhongli in front of her as competition…
are my eyes just playing tricks on me or can she really hit enemies without directly hitting them (i.e., aiming for the floor near the monsters)? would really appreciate if somebody can confirm this! i am a mobile player so hitting moving enemies is a real challenge for me

Ganyu is a good dps with probably the most boring playstyle you could imagine, even more boring than Xiaos and Xiaos playstyle is not only nauseous for some people but extremely boring. She does great damage and is cryo meaning she can be paired into cryo teams for the resonance or have a team built around her. If you haven't 36 the abyss and are looking for a power spike unit, Ganyu is it. All she needs is a shielder and not even a good one at that. Zhongli will forever be paired to my Itto because I need him to maximize my Ittos damage which is quite phenomenal I must say, and it's for this reason that makes Ganyu shine brighter. She doesn't NEED Zhongli, however Xiao does for the most part since you can't shred Anemo resist without Zhongli. That sums it up for Ganyu imo, if you can get around her dogshit playstyle then she'll serve you well hopefully, unless you're one of those players that barely farms for their characters and then complains how they can't clear the abyss.

I wanted to pull for xiao but people told me that he isn't that great. Ganyu seem like the right option but i think that holding r2 for hours isn't fun so i guess that zhongli is the one. I am not happy with it, i like zhongli but i have no dps in my team and i don't have sucrose for xiao so i am quite sad. Anyways, i am on 50/50 so maybe i get out of the 2.4 with a qiqi
Even as a mobile player, I'll still pull for her because for me, doing charged shots in battlefield consistently is a challenge that I want to accomplish.

Yes, Ganyu is overrated, my friend day dreaming build melt Ganyu for big dmg. Meanwhile me, who already have her since 1.2, her best team just Morgana, not biggest dmg output, but for fun & team synergy. And once you play Morgana, you'll almost never do charge atk bcos everything just dead by burst only.

The vid is a little bit lackluster. Shouldn't you ask if she is worth pulling for? I think overrated means that a lot of content creators talk about her as if he would be an unconditional must pull. I think this is just wrong. This leads people to make bad investments because they may already have alternatives for her. You said it yourself. She is not the strongest DPS and may not be an S-Tier support. But why pulling when you already have one of the strongest DPS or a S-Tier support.
Also let's not forget Ganyu's performance for mobile players. A huge overlooked issue.

I'll try to get her on this next rerun because i was luck to get Amos Bow, i have decent artifacts to her and she even can shiny being a enabler to my Yoimiya team. AND OF COURSE, SHE IS BEAUTIFUL! ❤️
She is very strong to this day but imo she is over rated. Until next patch she had a very nice support role for her aoe cyro boost but shenhe kit blows that boost out the window so she has lost that role. In terms of dps ayaka does alot more than her too. She is a solid character to fit a few roles but if you are looking for the best she is not the best in any role anymore and that's where the overhyping comes in. I still see "ganyu is the best character in the game best cyro character can't play without her" In reality unless you are very new to the game I would never recommended getting her. Shenhe already powercreeps her in support and there are already dps that beat her with more that will come in the future.
It's your typical straight line gacha. She is an old character and as such she has lost that great character spot. I honestly feel like these people quit genshin long ago but still watch genshin videos and argue about meta with such outdated knowledge of the game. Just like the people calling zhongli a "must have" these characters are over a year old we have much better options than them now in zhonglis case alot of 4* actually fill his role better at this point.
She is just so boring that I can't stay awake playing her
