I don’t think Genshin has problem with character release. It has problem with keeping old players. They just have nothing to do most of the time instead playing star rail.
I’ll be honest in order for me to get newly interested in the story they need to bring the Celestia characters in Fontaine or at least introduce them. The whole court thing just isn’t my thing and I think everyone already figured out the plot twists already.
Archons are usually universal must pulls meanwhile characters that’s not them and is just side characters for the region is just a personal preferences. So that part is true .8 don’t see anything interesting besides fatui harbingers.
Man long story short genshin is getting boring. Inazuma hype due to first new area and dendro is new element Fontaine only gave you the option to not use your characters with swimming. Main story is nice but side story's are disgusting and can't skip. And before anyone say I'm negative I've been playing day one but now it's been 2 months since log in due to dry content. Semi dolphin spend around $150 in my 3 years playing but thinking it's not $1000 a new game is $60-70. Dlc $15-30 so compare I've still spend more on this game than standard regular games but it was fun. Star rail yes it's new but the quality they put out on content have me thinking if it's the same company build genshin. No random stupid mini games actually fun content and challenging to do.
I would love to see if you have any information on the average Chinese user who plays the game. I’m curious how many characters they have what rank they’re AR is and do most even have caught up the latest patch. This could help us determine what Hoyoverse is catering too right now in fontaine patch.
Since they announced there will be no endgame, I just get the regional archon & maybe the harbinger then quit, comeback in 5.0 & so on
Thankfully you do not speak for me….I am excited for the future. I love Fontaine, love Neuvillette and look forward to upcoming new characters…I am not going anywhere. 😂 Even on the little list you showed, Gen is in 5th. I always prefer husbandos 😅
they need to add more talents that you can build and switch out from your characters
they aren't pushing out content fast enough… I'd like to see a new area opened at least every month instead of every 6 months with a bunch of little b***** events… Don't give me wrong I enjoy some of the events but I like exploration the most with actual voiceover and story elements
I'd also like to see more random encounters and also warring factions… I mean s*** Halo did it over 20 years ago with the flood in the covenant
also I hate passing some of these worn down houses and towns mostly occupied by enemies I'd love to see it after you clear an area out that people move back in and offer goods and services… like a lot more world changes I know that takes a lot of data center computing power but it can be done
I wish hoyo would just surprise us and fill in the whole region between Fontaine monstat and leeway and just drop it like right now… 😆
If Genshin is slipping in CN what's replacing it? If it's HSR, I don't think Hoyo is terribly upset. ZZZ will certainly cannibalize from both games next year. After the archon, I think there is still the outlying question of what to do with Geo and Physical. Navia herself can't save Geo, but some adjustments to the element and an artifact set that fully capitalizes on any updates could go a long way. Having said that the meta is being pushed towards an HP loss and gain dynamic, so I doubt a retooled Geo will deviate too far from Hoyo's meta goals.
Game is dog water right now.. u can tell by sales..
( course still making a lot of money) but Hoyo doesn't want jut a lot of money they want EVERY SINGLE PENNY so… it's just a matter of time before we start seeing major changes in the game ( like new permanent modes etc…) just wait and see… if there's 1 thing Hoyo listen to is DEFINITELY money.
Fontaine may have a good story and actual good written characters unlike some other regions cough Inazuma *cough*, I agree that after Furina there is only Arlecchino people are looking forward to (myself included) and people are hoping that Clorinde is a breath of fresh air because of her possible Gun-Playstyle.
I myself dont care about pulling Furina since I dont need nor want her. I am only pulling characters I like since Cynos release.
Furina may be the best hydro applicator or whatever crazy healer she may be.
I cant see Furina making high sales honestly.
Really glad furina kit is like this , actually I was meant to pull furina but got Neuvillette by accident ,after playing him ,I got hyped by the damage output and pulled his c1 although st first try lost 50 50 to tignari that forced me to complete Inazuma exploration to 98 percentage,and also made me collect the remaining occulies,I meant all like sumeru Fontaine and inazumas occulies,it was a hard grinding of 1 day time,yep I got c1 neuvelett at 75 th pull after loosing to tignari,and i think it's really worth the primos.
Personally I think we’re at a point where they can power creep and it won’t make a difference. I see a decline and I feel like they will have to bring something new to incentivize more spending.

Sadly for me it’s hard to get hyped to pull for characters since being max ar, all the characters I use are built and maxed out, but there’s nothing to use them with. The feeling sucks, many characters I like but there’s no satisfaction in getting more of them and working on them. What am I going to do? Everything dies so easily, especially with everything I currently have. Exploring takes a few days at most and then what? Back to mid maxing on artifacts for battles that are already to easy? I hate this feeling
