  1. I was on the fence. I pulled Tighnari and enjoy his spread gameplay with Zhongli, Nahida and Yae. However, I prefer to pair Yae with Raiden and Zhongli with Itto. I could do two different types of hyperblooms – an aoe focused one with Ayato/Kuki/Nahida/Kazuha (or Fischl) and a single target focused one with Nahida(driving)/Yae/Kuki/XQ. I really enjoy the Ayato team, but I'm currently building Ayato to be used in Nilou bloom (with Yaoyao and Collei)… a comp that will utilize his full potential. I enjoy the Tighnari team, but usually just for bosses and I hardly take it into the abyss because he's so single target focused and these days the floors have been both aoe and single target. I enjoy the Nahida hyperbloom driving team, but Nahida's EM buff feels wasted on herself.

Alhaitham on the other hand, utilizes Nahida, XQ and Kuki to their full potential. I don't play Hu Tao and I prefer to use Yae instead of XQ with Raiden. All 3 supports are incredibly strong and it felt bad to delegate them to niche comps I wouldn't normally play unless a situation specifically called for them. Ultimately, pulling for Alhaitham did push Tighnari to the backburner, but he still has use in being a ranged attacking pure spread dps that I can passively get cons for. I'm sure supports will come out for him that better cater to his playstyle later down the line, as well… whereas Alhaitham has what seems to be a T0 comp available right from the start. He is way less niche than all my other XQ/Nahida/Kuki variants, consolidates their utility and damage into a neat package and stylishly delivers.

  2. Pov: it's the last day of Baal banner and you're at 73 pity you throw four pulls and lose 50/50 to Mona then you throw two more pulls and get c4 Baal, there's probably no way you'd get Alhaitham but still pull him after 8 more pulls 😩. Sumeru has blessed my account heavily.

  3. Glad to see another sumeru character who wasn’t somewhat suppressed on release.

It’s still painful to see Hoyoverse again put some pain points in c0, namely skill downtime, and resolve it in c1.

Alheitham has big constellation gains. C2 says “we’ll build EM for you”, c4 says “we’ll stack EM for the whole team for you”, c6 says “we’ll build crit damage for you”. This constellation signifies the transition from “pay for transformation”, “pay for nuke damage”, into “pay so your char is 70% built”

  4. I only have him at level 70 with 5/6/6 talents and he’s ALREADY out DPSing my level 90 double crowned Cyno. People are saying that he needs Nahida but to be honest, I feel like every Dendro DPS gets better with Nahida. I have most 5 stars in the game. He honestly feels incredibly strong compared to most of them (at C0 at least). I have a hard time ranking him below some of the top DPS characters in the game (at C0).

  5. I honestly think he ain't the good i feel like if you don't have hu tao or yelan go for one of them instead or save for dehya cause i heard her burst is like Raiden and cyno

  6. Something i think ppl don't realize with hutao or forget is that she sacrifice hp to boost her dmg, shes supposed to do more dmg than most other chars duh. Thats why kuki sucks cuz its like why do you sacrifice hp for? She doesn't get any major buffs as a tradeoff. If hoyo new what they were doing, she shoulda had a big boost in em when she used her skill on top of the pew pew extra healing when below half hp. As for al haitham, it makes sense he should do good dmg. Spread has a higher scaling, he has stack management, and he does a lot of hits to proc reactions. For ppl who think hes bad cuz his best team has nahida or nahida caries him, every dendro team its best to put nahida in making it a mute point; irrelevant.

  7. He is very satisfying to use and ez to build, his CD are kinda annoying tbh but am glab that hoyo didnt miss with him. Good luck to all those who gonna pull him, I'm saving for Hu tao

  8. It's great that you pointed out the different teams that Al Haitham can play in. Hu Tao and Ayaka are pyro and cryo and excel in their teams but they are pretty much only playing vape and freeze forever. Al Haitham has potential to play in spread, hyperbloom, and burgeon so ihe's a great unit for on field DPS while having versatility like you said. With his release, I wonder if they will make Kaveh a sub dps or support that can be run with Al Haitham in the future so he doesn't rely on Nahida as much 🙂 Perhaps a dendro XQ or Beidou, something that has interruption resistance and can generate good energy. Good video!

  9. He's so fun, his kit is just complex enough to not get boring like a lot of characters while not being so restrictive or bloated to be a pain. I was worried I'd regret pulling him before the next banner but now I can't wait to get Yelan to try some teams with both of them. He hits that sweet spot of high damage, fun playstyle and versatile enough to be able to play him with a whole bunch of different comps without feeling like he's gimped as a result.

  10. One noteworthy thing I’d like to mention: Alhaitham is not a burst reliant character like Xiao or Itto, and IWTL cleared abyss with one rotation with a 4* weapon and team which is crazy

Pre-nerf Alhaitham easily best dps in the game.

  11. The best summary for Al Haitham in one word is Solid. Not a must pull (especially for new players), but definitely not a pull you'll regret if you're above AR 50.

The fact that he has dendro infusion through CA, skill, and burst makes him able to abuse quickbloom, which is a very F2P team. In quickbloom teams, you don't have to run Nahida, you can use Yaoyao or DMC instead.

As for spread, he outputs decent dmg, which scales with investment, but in spread teams he highly benefits from Nahida, so not very F2P friendly, but it still works well enough with 4 star characters like Fischl, Shinobu, Beidou, etc.
