  1. If they’re jumping to conclusions by looking at numbers than that’s an even worse excuse. They’re choosing to rely on numbers than to listen to the players. Relying on data never ends well, going by that logic 2+2= excessive anxiety😂. Just because a few amount of people don’t play spiral abyss that doesn’t mean they don’t want endgame content💁🏾‍♂️. Every genshin content creator complains about endgame content, Mtashed, tectone, enviously, zy0x and etc. Hoyoverse knows that everyone wants more endgame content but they’re just ignoring us and creating these dumb excuses. This interview was a complete joke

  2. It's hilarious. All the comments agree that the vocal 1% should stfu but everybody thinks the vocal 1% is a different group of people. Story players, meta players, endgamers, casuals, FTP, whales. I'm seeing it all here, and each commenter thinks they ARE the player base. They're all wrong, because the player base is obviously me. 😏

  3. excessive anxiety is only a thing bc spiral abyss gives so many primos. 600 every two weeks might not sound like a lot but considering dailies give only 60 it is hard to miss out on, thats why players that dont like combat feel forced to do it. It literally would not be a problem if a potential new game mode came with different rewards.

  4. No wonder a whiteknight like you came defending Mihoyo even after this messed up interview. Not having endgame content affects every player, not only “hardcore” ones. Man up already and do something for the game you pretend to care about, Jhon Whitty.

  5. The reason why no one is doing spiral abyss is because to the normal player it favors the new characters that come out. If the new character sucks than the abyss is usually easy. If the new character is really good, hell even a game changer than the abyss is usually harder. A large amount of the player base don't play abyss because it shows you how much the floors heavily favor the characters you don't roll for which push to the "anxiety" they mentioned. HYV is the cause of their own problem and they are trying to blame the players. Giving players a permanent combat mode to push their current teams casual or not without a bias toward a specific character will lead to the desire of making stronger teams and interesting comps.

  6. They should have followed up the endgame content question with a skip dialogue button. I swear some of these quests they talk forever about nothing. Especially when its required to do the limited time events.

  7. 16:00 From a pure narrative perspective, its a good question. Let's say two years from now, Genshin continues to add important lore in limited events, for the new player base, they wont know what the hell is going on. People play games for different reasons and a strong story is a huge selling point. A good chunk of character development and world building is locked behind a limited time window. This causes a very choppy narrative and I believe it is important for the longevity of the game to fix that. Genshin can't just ride on its current market forever, it needs to expand to new players. For non meta players, their pulls (and their dollars) are going to be based on whether they like a character or not. Why would anyone pull for out dated characters that they have grown no attachment too? One day Genshin will be finished, and as is, the story is kinda a rollercoaster without all of the events explaining things in between. They pretty much have to toe the line of giving us interesting events as well as not breaking the narrative of the game. Albedo has huge chunks of lore that players will never see. Scaramouche revealed to us that the entire sky… isn't real. That's kind of big if you value world building, and new players will NEVER know unless they search it up.
Beside that, I agree with your points on the interview!

  9. its not even about hardcore community. im a casual and i play abyss 9 to 11 for gems and sense of progression. they flat out say they wont give us more rewards or more things to do, lmao. scum company. only get by by shtty ripoff events and idiots throwing money at the screen for boobas. god i wish blue protocol would release sooner

  10. "How hard would it be to say yeah" Well, you can ask the developers of No Man's Sky that. Any positive confirmation is a promise, and the community would view any change or alteration as "breaking" that promise even though one was never made.

  11. I agree with most points here though being able to replay lore-related quests including the ones that introduce Mona, Scaramouche etc. would have been a really major positive change as many players, if not the majority, do care about the story. As a person who's more interested in lore than combating and – god forbid! – co-op events I feel it's so unfair that new players would now be missing significant pieces of info because of those stories being time limited. I mean, it's not just about characters per se, it's about the whole Teyvat history (e.g. "the sky is a lie", Dragonspine history and so on).

  12. Talking about story plot and question about “introduction old limited.-time events to new players”: yo man I love GI story, it’s lore, it’s details, I think I’ve read almost every book in the game so far. And it is very *ucking sad when u are discussing some plot-related facts with ur friends who just started playing the game, AND THEY DON’T KNOW A SHIT. Like, who is that purple harbinger?? What’s the Golden Apple Archipelago? What, Albedo has a brother? Oh, so now we have 3 Albedos? What about prehistory of Kaedehara’s family and his connection to the Kamisato clan (which we discovered during the Inazuma festival). If you go back to previous events, u’ll be shocked with amount of LIMITED time events and how much story plot we had there. U may not be interested in lore, I get it, everyone has their own favorite things about the game, but please don’t underestimate Genshin’s lore and the amount of people, craving for knowing more. (btw please don’t take my words too serious, I am not blaming anyone or smth, just wanted to say that out loud. Play the game the way u like!)

  13. I know you’re a channel and player who focuses on the gameplay of Genshin but the story question is important. Just because you don’t personally care about the story doesn’t mean the story isn’t an important thing in the game.

Also as for endgame content like spiral abyss the player base is weak minded, however I think it would still be a good idea to add a new type of combat endgame mode.

  14. This interview just shows that devs and quite a bit of the player base are just delusional. Thanks for the video SmackDaddyKing! I agree for the most part with everything you said.

  15. wait you are earning 30k a month? damn, good for you, I didnt even know small content creators make that kind of money. (Not a dis, just saying you are not one of those huge ones like envy tectone etc yet)

  16. Theres also many other sources of anxiety in the game…the gacha, artifact farming and time gated resin are all frustrating lol…now we have cactuses and scarabs to add…lol 😂😂😂

  17. My issue with Spiral Abyss is not that I do not want to do it. Rather it is the fact that until we get certain 4 stars from the Standard Wish banner, going to 5-3 is nigh impossible. This means for the first month or two of an account's lifespan, most players will not be able to access the refreshing portion of the spiral abyss. If they sincerely wanted everyone to use that content more, the earlier levels should refresh as well.

  18. technically its only genshin devs that dont care about hardcore players as honkai devs have made multiple end game modes so i think its more accurate to say genshin devs rather than hoyoverse as not all of hoyoverse is against endgame content. or rather not even really hardcore players but more so players that like testing builds against things that are tough enough to not get one shot or even just other permanent ways to get primogems. chinese players may have limited time to play due to rules over there but asians in general also like challenging games which genshin currently is not despite the multitude of people begging for more end game content

  19. – The real question is, ''Player percentage of what AR?'', because basing their facts about ''not enough players do or want Spiral Abyss'', and their statistic for that is from AR1 to AR60, aint no way for it to be ''accurate'' representation.

    – Even more funny is the fact that Spiral Abyss has 2 WEEK cycle, not days, and not ''just 1 week'', and even for most average player, it doesnt take more than 1 HOUR (if you do all 12 floors), which can be even less if you only do 11 Floors, and not only that you are NOT forced to do all 4 floors, in single day.

    – But here is the reality check, Spiral Abyss wont disappear anywhere, unlike majority of FOMO induced ''anxiety'' events, where you can no longer get 2h Tuna, Albedo sword, or any other weapons, gadgets or rewards.

    – Also their Resin answer… Holy cow… They dont want to cause unecessary anxiety, and yet having 160 Resin cap basically forces you to log in Genshin twice a day, because if you dont convert it to Condensed in the morning, it will overcap by the time you get home from work etc.

  20. Big facts for the whole video but I will say, the story quests are a large part of the game and is a fan favorite. Hoyoverse should address that situation like how other games let’s you replay cinematics somewhere in their settings or something. It’s a simple fix that shouldn’t really take much time for them.
