How I fell in love with Genshin Impact Again

Genshin had a big impact in my life for the past 3 years, and I can’t thank the game and the community enough for all the support. Over time, I lost track of what was fun anymore, but the Volty redemption arc is coming soon…

More About Genshin Impact:
Genshin Impact is a free-to-play action role-playing game developed and published by miHoYo. The game features a fantasy open-world environment and action-based battle system using elemental magic and character-switching, and uses gacha game monetization for players to obtain new characters, weapons, and other resources. The game is online-only and features a limited multiplayer mode allowing up to four players to play together. It was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Android and iOS on September 28, 2020. Genshin Impact is also planned to release on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5; playability of the PlayStation 4 version on PlayStation 5 via backward compatibility was added on November 11, 2020.

Genshin Impact takes place in the fantasy world of Teyvat, which is home to seven distinct nations, each of which is tied to an element and ruled by a god associated with it. Inspired by Moga, itsPaikon, and JavaTheCup. The story follows a twin, referred to as the Traveler, who has traveled across many worlds with their twin but has become separated from them by an unknown god in Teyvat. The Traveler travels across Teyvat in search of the lost sibling with their companion Paimon and becomes involved in the affairs of the other nations, gods, and the world.

The game received a generally positive reception, with critics praising the combat and open-world freedom, while some criticism was raised at its endgame. The game received generally positive reviews, with critics praising the combat and open-world, while others criticized its shallow endgame and monetization model. A commercial success, the game grossed over $2 billion in its first year of release.

  1. I joined thanksgiving 2021. I keep going back to genshin for some reason. I think I went back because I already invested too much time in it and all that hard work would be a bit of a waste if I left. The music also made me go back because it is too good.

  2. Initially came for waifus, stayed for the open world, lore and men. Started in 1.0 and never really stopped (there was a time when I was burnt out where I would just do commissions and log off). What really rekindled my love for Genshin was Sumeru (especially the desert) and I honestly can't wait for Fontaine!

  3. weirdly enough, the way i combat burnout with this game is by buying account with characters i dont have in my main. after playing that account for a while, it would get me to play again. usually ended up either selling the account back or just abandoning it.

  4. I joined back in December of 2022 and I've been enjoying the game so much I started playing it cause I was getting burn out from another game I played and a friend had recommended me the game earlier in the year didn't start playing cause storage issues 😕 but anyways eversince than I've gotten to love gensin and it's content littery was starting to watch just genisn videos I've never really got burn out or least not for a long period of time I got burned out when I lost my 50 50 to jean on Kazuha banner I was so upset that all my hard work went to a chacter that was useless on my account since I already had Qiqi and surcose who I often used on the same team if Jean was C2 I wouldn't have much of a problem since she could buff my Yoimyia but after I got Jean I was unmotivated to farm again for at least the rest of the day and frist couple of hours the next day but I got back into Gensin the day after that day cause I was determined to try and get Kazuha littery every one pull I could do I would wish Untill I got to 21 pity cause I wanted to save for Wanderer cause I knew he was a fun chacter I could play and that's me now a garuted Wanderer with at the moment 44-45 wishes saved up 😊

Sorry this was long wanted to share my experience with gensin also my first 50/50 lost was on 3.4 banner with Xiao to Qiqi but I didn't care cause by that time I loved her to bits along with Xiao and after 2 ten pulls later he came home so in my eyes Qiqi gave me good luck and that's why I main her
Sorry for little story just wanted to add on to my experience if you manage to read this all the way threw I hope you have a wonderful day/ night and hope you win all of your 50/50 😊

  5. I started playing in version 2.0, it was so interesting and fun. I guess i played 10+ in a day, as a result i got a burnout in 2.6-2.7. All of 2.6-2.7 i just did my dailies, condensed, or used, my resin, did event without much interest and got Yelan, and her signature. But version 2.8 were so fun and interesting so i got back into the game. I started doing quests, participating in events and got Kazuha. Version 3.0 were even funnier, but i burned out again in 3.8. Let's see if Fontaine gonna drag me into the game again, or I'm gonna leave genshin. But still it was a fun journey ❤

  6. I got to the burnout phase about three months ago. I created 3 accounts and I really regret it. At one point, I was keeping up with dailes, weeklies, events, etc on all of them.

I finally decided to drop the 2 extra accounts. Unfortunately still have nit recovered from burnout. Even logging on this one account daily feels like a chore. 😢

I'm not sure I'll get over this any time soon.

  7. I started back near the Raiden/Kokomi banners and playing Genshin honestly feels like a chore to me now as well. since I finished most of everything and don’t feel like doing other stuff in the game, I’ve been switching to various Hoyoverse games (HI3, and H:SR). I don’t play them all the time but it’s fun when I feel like it 🙂

Just game when you want, don’t force yourselves.

  8. Like all things: taking your hobbies or fun free time and turning it into work will burn you out; even if it's something you love. It's important to take breaks and try other things from time to time for mental health.

  9. I started playing Genshin 2years ago, I really enjoyed the game and the amazing art, although I made a big mistake which is constantly making new accounts when I get bored or tired of my current and always telling myself that it's "ok" bcz it's gonna be the last time I make a new account and start over but I always lie to myself and just kept making new accounts to the point where i felt burnt out, i quit genshin for 6 months and decided to come back in May 28, 2023. I started a new account and decided to save for Kazuha from the start and I happily got him and then got Mona at 33 pity which means i am now guaranteed to get my next character Kokomi. I am slowly starting build my dream team. I play Genshin almost everyday. I am honestly taking my time and not speed running throughout everything and enjoying myself while exploring new areas. I can't wait for Fontain but I am probably gonna skip the whole Fontain crew. I am very happy that you're also starting to enjoy the game again Voltyea and I wish you the best. This is actually the first time I comment on one of you're vids lol 😅

  11. Love genshin for experience in it — the atmosphere music characters stories. Of course when you’re forced to do something you’ll eventually get bored with it, it’s not genshin’s fault but rather an unavoidable fact. But still it just proves we all need vacations. Feel free to take care of yourself and log out from it 😂

  12. by the way sometimes when you upload at a more reasonable speed — like take a break for a month and then upload — people will eventually be tuned in a bit more cause of the effect of missing you 😅

I though am greedy and don’t want you to even do such thing BUT it’s in your abilities

  13. Took a break once I started working, like a year an a half later started to play a few hours a week. Now I'm "full back" but doing as much as I feel like, one day I just wanna do the dailies, I'll just do that, haven't catch up with the archon quest because now I focuse on having fun. As you say in the video, the 3.8 event was awesome, I felt like playing genshin 1.0 all over again, I actually was refreshing, now I want to explore inazuma(left on the first half so the new island are just there)

  14. I feel like over time once you reach a certain point in your account the repetitive nature of the game is clear and the game can become a bit like a chore 🙁

What’s helped me a lot when it came to burnout was to try doing a bit of random co-op, or to take a week or two off here and there, which I used to be afraid of as I would not want to lose out on primos but now that I have many characters I like and that my account is strong enough, I’m okay with taking breaks here and there

  16. I started Genshin when it was released, but quickly dropped it because I got frustrated with the wishing aspect. I picked it up again sometime later when Albedo and Dragonspine launched because my best friend was a huge fan and wanted to play together. With someone to share it with, I quickly became just as obsessed as her and we played together whenever we could. We both fell in love with characters that were almost like ourselves. Venti was her favorite and Kazuha was mine.
Playing Genshin was even the last thing we did together before she died. I don't play as often now, (like you said, it can be kind of depressing to play something alone), but whenever I do play it I'm overwhelmed by sweet memories of the time we spent together. With every new update, I can't help but wonder what she would've said about this or that or what new character she'd be obsessed with.
Some games are just games. But some games bring people together, change lives and inspire creatives. This game does it all. And it will always have a very special place in my heart. Whether or not you want to continue playing it for your viewers, I'm sure it will always have a special place in yours too and I think that's what really matters 💜

  17. I started Genshin in February of this year, glad to hear the perspective from long time player about the grind definitely felt that approaching AR50.

I was curious if you could give me the name of the background music at the beginning, thanks!

  19. I started the game similar to you (about a few weeks after launch), playing with friends. Now most of them don't play anymore, and honestly I just try to find the fun in everything I do in Genshin, either by playing with super fun teams in overworld or challenging myself in Abyss. I take care of my main, 3 alts, and 2 friend accounts. Exploration has always been my go-to when I feel burnt out, because that's what I love about the game the most. I've only ever gotten burnt out by Genshin once, and since I've been doing more exploration on different accounts on my own terms and not rushing it, I haven't been burnt out since.

Don't push yourself to do stuff you don't feel like doing on your accounts. When you get upset because the artifacts you've gathered all rolled badly, fight bosses or build up some weapons instead. It may seem simple, but even a small change like that can help the game feel less like a chore. And especially, don't feel pressured to maintain an unreasonable upload schedule. I don't mind waiting for the next Road to 100K because I know that the video will always be super entertaining and motivating. Take your time and play the game how you want to play it, and if you do feel overwhelmed, don't hesitate to take a break from content creation (or Genshin entirely) and focus on yourself. I'm sure everyone who is a dedicated watcher of this channel will wait patiently for your next upload regardless of the circumstances. We all wish you the best!

  21. I love Genshin and just started playing it this February! I am very excited for Fontaine and need to save up some primos to get characters as I'm F2P and don't want to spend money. I like the grind but it's been very formulaic recently and I'm worried it will start to feel like a chore. I like to do world quests but some are super time consuming even though secret areas are locked behind them, so it's hard to get 100% exploration. I just want to sit back and enjoy the game again and this video inspired me as well, and I might try some new challenges. For me I'm usually taking daily breaks from the game or may boot up another one, so I won't be burnt out when Fontaine comes and I can play it without it feeling like a chore.

  23. I haven’t played since really 1.4 so I have a whole 2 regions to complete and while I got spoiled alot for inazuma I’m basically free of spoilers for sumeru besides it’s appearance as well as Fontaine soon.

  24. I started genshin in 1.3 at the end of Xiaos banner. I got him in one pull but immediately benched him because i didnt know he was good. The first golden apple archipelago event left me amazed and really happy. I really liked the magical feel of things. I also liked the royal fischl outfit from the second one. Anyway when i was ar 40 something i pulled out Xiao and was amazed by his damage so he became my main. I pulled alot of character and it made me really happy. It took me 3-4 months of saving to get hu tao (i think i had 11k primos) i was so grateful when i won the 50/50 for her and now i use her more than Xiao (but still use xiao). Even though ive been playing for a while (500 days) i dont log on every day because i forget how fun it is and sometimes am stressed out by quests. I stoppwd playing for a month then on and off played. Then, like voltyea, came back for the summer event and finally finished the aranara quest and golden slumber quest line (took a while but was fun) now i play more and have fun with the events. I dont have enough primos for klee tho sadly.

Thanks for reading my story lol
