Genshin Impact is a game that attracts a large amount of casual players and this focus for Hoyoverse has left many to be increasingly frustrated with the direction the game is taking.

  1. Remember back when people appreciate games so much despite having flaws here & there. Yeah, the golden age of gaming. Nowadays many just nitpicks every little thing they can find to justify why they think the fanbase who supports the game are just a bunch of toxic positivity.

  2. People play different, people like different things. I have a group where around 3 friends of mine would love more challenge for end game. But also have friends who just do daily commissions. Some are f2p. 2 are whales. I’m a light spender. Some go for meta. Some are waifu supremacy.

2 guys finish the map in 2 days. Some of us take months.

We all still play. 12-15 of us. Some of them are now my friends BECAUSE of the game. Some are long time friends.

Enjoy the game. Enjoy life. 🙏🏻

  3. I totally agree. Sometimes when I am very busy irl all I did was spend my resin and dailies. Sometimes I have problems with the events because there's a little time for me. But if I am totally free, I can spend like 4hrs. I am taking my time with the game and I have never quit. I haven't collected all the chest and I don't even have all the oculus yet esp in Sumeru. I do feel the burn out sometimes and the pressure to grind for primos. When it happens, I just take it slow.

  4. Honestly i think this is the best take I've heard on the content structure in Genshin. really enjoyed the video. I got into the trap of focusing too much on meta and realized i wasn't enjoying the game or even paying attention to the story. i kicked it back a notch, started maining traveler again and now I'm having a ton of fun again.

  5. Your not wrong. I took a 6 month break where I only played Abyss once a month and other than that didn't touch genshin. Didn't do story, dailies mini games look at youtube nothing. And it was actually a lot of fun that way bc even tho I'm disappointed with the game as a whole, I still love Abyss and doing the spiral Abyss will always be fun for me. I'm back full time just cause I want to get Ayato and build my Nahida and Kuki. So before I had nothing to do now I got a few characters to build up and an entire story to do (just finished act 1). Once I build those characters I'll probably stop playing everyday again and just play abyys.

I just wish that they would add another combat endgame event. I think the misconception is ppl think combat lovers want it to be harder and that's not necessarily true. We just want another mode that's semi challenging like Abyss, doesn't need to be harder. The one event where you have 8 teams of 2 and constantly switch teams trying to kill as much as you can would be super fun permanent combat.

  6. Well said. One of the reasons why i am still able to play the game to this day while juggling real life responsibilities is that it allows you to play it at the pace that you want to. If not i would not be able to play with my current work schedule. Its only when you need to play it all the time like Mtashed that it starts getting. Granted, there should be more end game content that isnt time gated.

  7. Taking Genshin in in small amounts is what do really help me keep playing, even since release. Every time I play genshin very intensely for a few days or even a week, I get so burned out I just can't get myself too playing for a long(er) time. The longest break I took was around 3 months long. I've never made that mistake since.

  8. Question is mandatory to 36 star every abyss reset? Because I stress I cannot 36 star this hard game content genshin impact. Mean optional only this abyss game play for 36 star for 600 primo reward and not worth stress and time to 36 it?

  9. Day 1 player here. Despite being upset with the state of the end game, or lack thereof, I still love the game and am no where near burning out. I guess I'm just weird.

  10. I've been trying to slow down my consumption of the game and I think it's been working. I've been getting into other games while keeping genshin on the side and I feel a lot better than I used to. Genshin really is meant to be played casually and infrequently.

  11. It is time to stop making excuses for genshin. I am going put the Mtashed situation on the side. We need to focus on GENSHIN. A game is suppose to take up your time. That is its purpose. We need to stop with the "savoring a steak" example. It sounds like stockholm syndrome when we do that. This game has a retention problem. It lacks content to keep you playing so we the player compensate by adjusting our lifestyle. We should NOT do that. Genshin reminds me of Mario Party. You only play once every few months with friends then let it collect dust.

  12. I Went from going all in doing everything even events the day they are out every day dailies are done to doing events when i feel like it sometimes i dont even do my dailies if i dont feel like it i do stories/side quests/explore i dont and i dont even have the tree or the statue max levels or even have the find 70+ aranara quest finished i also started watching character guides if i wanna learn about a character more in depth then form my own ideas and make my own teams too that could work for me what i prefer as long as it works why not? it is such a game changer made me have more fun and for the game to be enjoyable to log onto + i dont make it my whole focus i do other things/play other games

  13. I stopped doing dailies forever ago. I take month or 2 month long breaks only logging in for log-in rewards at times. I skip mini games i don't like. I haven't even done Sumeru yet. I did the Chasm 2 weeks ago lol. I don't even save my primos anymore either or bother maxing artifacts. I play mostly MMO's so it doesn't bother me at times only logging in for a bit of content. However, i would like the game to fix some of its underlining issues and then i'd play it a lot more. But as of right now, it doesn't look like it's going to happen.

  14. On the topic of discovering for yourself, I remember when I started I posted on reddit my struggle with weekly Dvalin fight, there was one particular person who wanted to help, I appreciated their gesture but I just posted that to show I struggled and overcame, I told them I don't want your tips on how to make the fight easier, I wanna figure things out for myself.

  15. I just started following your channel, and I have to say, it's amazing. this genshin game is a disgrace, it's a collective delusion, it's horrible, but few youtubers are prepared to say that. so, congratulations

  16. It takes small things to be pushed to stop and small things to be pushed to keep going. I've stopped expecting super meta artifacts unless I absolutely need it. One or two rolls on crit or smth decent for the chara and I'm good. If I feel like the gameplay is getting stale then I think about what it feeling less appealing to me, and focus resin on smth else next week until I'm motivated again (ie artifacts > talents > weapons > bosses > leylines, rotating what I focus on based on account needs and personal prefs, sometimes even just condense and go). HOWEVER I am not a player who is here only for gameplay. I actually play bc I need the lore so events/ new quests/ etc are all super important to me especially in recent patches. The minigames can be quite fun too. Heck sometimes coop alone gives me a lot of fun and motivation to keep going due to all the nice people you can meet.

In addition to all of this though, I do have other things I do as well (Work, write, play a diff game, hang out w friends). So I'm currently quite well adjusted to keep going. When I do feel low on motivation, I'll watch Envi's stay motivated video or smth like that.

All this said, I think your point about doing just what you enjoy is one of the best points. I only ever do abyss up to floor 10/11, 11/12 is only if I feel like it (I've only ever done 12 on a new chara's release that I really liked and prepped for lol).
