How Did Kuki Shinobu Suddenly Get So Strong? | Genshin Impact

When Kuki Shinobu was released in late Version 2, her underwhelming numbers and ostensible lack of any “meta” usability rendered her another 4 star character that players discarded as weak. Come Version 3.0 and the addition of Dendro and its reactions and Shinobu’s playstyle was suspiciously convenient for achieving either Quicken or Hyperbloom. Today we’re gonna discuss what happened to Kuki Shinobu in recent months!

  1. kuki has been good since release imo, insane healing potential. With iron sting, c0, and easy artifact building i was healing 3980 per tick, and she only has around tow seconds of downtime in healing

  2. Is this background music from fire emblem three houses?!?!😍
Edit: so glad she has gotten stronger- I got her as soon as she came out and was disappointed that everyone said there was no point using her!

  3. i honestly hate the mindset that alot of the community has where if the character doesnt hit 100k+ theyre useless :(( so cool to see kuki shine with dendro

  4. Honestly, I used her even before Dendro released. I don't know why people kept saying her healing was bad, her Sanctifying Ring ticks more frequently than other characters healing options. Nowadays, I got lucky on a weapon banner and got Nilou's weapon and equipped it on Kuki. I have now dubbed my Raiden team as "Raiden/Cyno Hyper-Aggrocarry" because you can swap Raiden out for Cyno and it still works great because of Cyno's EM damage scaling from his passive. Basically, I've got C2 Kazuha (+200 team EM on burst), Dendro Traveler with R5 Sapwood Blade (+120 EM on reaction core pick-up), and finally a Max HP Kuki Shinobu with the Key of Khaj 5-star weapon (+110-ish team EM on weapon's 3-stack buff). That's a grand total of around 420 EM buffs for either Raiden Shogun or Cyno, which boosts both of their damage via Aggravate by a phenomenal amount, Raiden needs the substantial EM buff since all her stats are invested in Crit stats and ER, and Cyno HAS a good amount of EM for his scaling but extra DEFINITELY doesn't hurt.

  5. This is a response to the last bit about meta. A game doesn't need to be PvP to have a meta. Meta basically means the acronym it is, and that can even be for PvE. For example, in the context of Low Turn Count runs in FE games there is a clear tier list of which characters would perform exceptionally well in those conditions. Likewise for Genshin, its meta is centered around the content available in the game which is pretty much just Abyss and other combat-related things since that's half of the game and how you get stronger. PvE meta could also be things that make your life easier when playing a game. You could say that Yelan, Zhongli, Kazuha, and Sayu is a "meta" exploration comp since the team comp makes it the easiest and fastest to travel around and collect materials.

Basically a meta can exist even within the context of singleplayer PvE games, just that the context and conditions are going to end up being different than that of PvP situations.

  6. I thought she was good when she first came out. As a newer player, I no longer needed to use food ever again with her heals. Now, I'm just getting more benefits. Good thing I have her c5.

  7. My Kuki stacked with EM carried my f2p team from ~AR35 to AR 50 thanks to hyperbloom (combining her ring with dendro traveller and xingqui's respective bursts produces nutty results) and she was underleveled the whole time until I finally got to Inazuma around AR45 and could finally farm her ascension materials.
