  1. I am a hardcore genshin player finish chasm in the 2-3 days and i still like genshin i took long breaks from the game almost 2 months each but I am back, 36* the spiral abyss since kazuha banner but i still enjoy building and playing different caracters and combination is hard when trying to get artifacts for everyone rn i got ayaka and i can't get the blizzard set so instead of removing the resin from artifact I suggets that hoyo could add a pity system kinda like the new weapon banner where u can choose what set u want to get the most (not always) and/or maybe the next X( no flower or feather) piece would have Y(from what stats X piece can have) main stat ofc that doesn't remove the main problem the lack of content i am still on hopium that hoyo would add some kinda of permanent content

  2. I don't want perfect artifacts. I want usable ones and after tossing 10 condensed resin at the Blizzard domain getting literally not ONE usable piece i cannot agree more with a resin improved system. Genshin indeed feels like working in a factory. I cannot stress this enough, is a shame, because Genshin has so much potential. CN is not hopeless, simply Hoyo stopped giving a damn even about CN. Very unwise.

  3. Genshin doesnt have any repeatable content other than commission quest and spiral abyss and other smaller things. After the delay, it felt like it was just another game than I’ve played before, and there was no content. This might be because they thought, “oh, since we have updates every 6 weeks, we dont really have to put anything thats repeatable” or whatever. And now that the update is delayed, I found myself straying from genshin. No exactly quitting, but because there isnt any content, I dont feel the fun in it anymore. I havent built any of my characters and its hard to do spiral abyss because of that. And I recently just started playing because Heizou became official and im trying to save primos for him.

I hadnt played genshin for a month or so, and my poor 30+ welkin days got wasted. I bought a lot of welkins for the bonus genesis crystals to get Ayato, because I thought I’d log in everyday now that I have graduated and its summer vacation now. But no, content was no where in sight and I just stopped logging in. As a player who only buys welkin, I have to make the most out of my daily log in, by doing commisions to atleast get 150 primo gems a day.

After I quitted loggin in on genshin, I started playing other games like honkai: which didnt work out for me, tears of themis: love the targets, Nu: Carnival: Ahem….. Got back into playing CoC, forgot my supercell so I had to start over again, and I started using my “Genshin funds”(Money for welkin) on those games and now im broke.

I just wish hoyoverse does something and adds something fun to do and its repeatable. I mean sure there’s something called hangout events if some players havent done them, it certainly isnt repeatable (I mean you still get the same results over and over again), but some players like me hate “”talking”” and going to places.

I noticed how different Genshin and Tears of themis when it comes to their generosity. In genshin, even getting 40 primogems is a lot and I dont even have the guts to spend 10 primogems for whatever needs primogems to be used. But on ToT, 40 S-chips is nothing. You get s-chips for everything you do, whether its a first time battle, doing story quest, doing card quests(AND BRUH THERE’S SO MANY CARDS), trial of themis, just so many things to get schips from, while compared to genshin, you get 2-5 primogems from precious chests. Like srsly???

I apologize if this was too long to read, I love genshin, but it needs a lot of improvement.

Edit: btw, you need 180 s chips to pull once, meaning there’s only 20 numbers difference between the two, but tot is more generous than genshin. How twisted

  5. You know what? I think i'll be somewhat able to accept the fact that the resin system will not be removed for somewhat valid reasons. But if this is the case I postulate a significantly noticable icrease of (at least) 3 and 4 star artifact drops. It seems allright not getting a few godlike artifact every day i spend my 160 resin (in the Blizzardstrayer-Domain and after these horrible drops i really crave to die) but even if i did im allways short on artifact-xp if i even have some. I feel like left with nothing – i can neither progress on my account ith a new somewhat useable artifact (that rolls 38% DEF afterwards) nor can i fully upgrade my other character's artifacts (i just cant play four hours a day and minmax everything i have. Also im just not lucky enough xD). I'd suggest at least eight 4 star drops and 16 3 star drops per 20 resin on the highest domain level. Also similar 4 star droprates on the lower domain levels would also be nice would take so much "pressure" from lower AR players.
actually i dont really care what hoyoverse is gonna change to make their amazing game long term more playable but them doing something yk?!

  6. Hey Walrus, do you have any thoughts as to what Genshin can do so if they face similar situation in the future again; they would be prepared. Would make a nice video.

  7. this all stems from genshin being intended to be your side game, something you open once or twice a day, do dailies, farm, then go ahead with your life. Sometimes giving it more time when extra content comes out.

The issue stems from people playing it as they would BOTW or similar open world (*complete*) games full of content to grind. It’s not anyones fault, it’s just putting ridiculously high expectations on what is, to the core, a gatcha. A hell of a good gatcha, but still.

This also means that people have simultaneously high gatcha expectations and high traditional open world game expectations. Which is honestly unrealistic.

I think it’s fine, maybe it’s because i’m f2p and i literally just log in, farm and dip. Then clear abyss every two weeks, then enjoy my lore drops every month or so.

The major criticism i understand is the whole resin thing, would it drastically improve experience? Yes. Is it necessary? No. Hyv has literally zero motivation to change it. The resin issue is big enough to bait in whales, but small enough to keep players from quitting solely because of it. They won’t change it imo.

  8. I haven't played genshin since 2.3 Will be back in 3.0 (sumeru) and if then also Mihoyo make these QOL changes (which i don't think they will) then it's sayonara to Genshin forever… It has stayed here for a long time and lasted more than it should…

  9. So in regards to the company not communicating , that changes nothing for me. I don't actually watch company live streams. I am a person whom will wait for stuff to go live to bother with it. In my experience company communication is not required. I am more upset with leakers than mihoyo honestly. I don't think mihoyo is perfect but I would like another more tactical venue to rival spiral abyss as spiral abyss feels braindead and brute force rushed venue. I hate the damned timers that impose a sense of rushing then for it to have no content to play afterwards. Timers should be optional for bonus rewards. I wish they had an endurance venue and for now genshin is a side game I play every so often. To be honest I am fine with genshin being a side game I play so many other games. Warframe is my main game genshin is side game and I also play other stuff that has no time based venues. I think people overrate communication from companies but maybe more common in china? I have played 138 games prior to genshin release and most don't communicate so it doesn't bother me. Most communication from companies in games I have played I hear from other players. I do agree a unified voice is needed but why bank on CN players. If you wanna start a song just start singing and people who feel it will sing along and they will listen. People unite for stupid things like Geo buff and anniversary rewards outrage fiasco but they won't unify for anything necessary nor meaningful so I will give genshin my agreed upon 5 years then if it is still not retaining my interest i will stop if unless nothing else is more appealing. Genshin made it playable on console which is why tower of fantasy and other gacha games like honkai are not going to take its place. The lack of investment of console games by developers is why I don't play most games. I don't enjoy pc nor mobile gaming so I only play on console nowadays. So yeah that is my take, disagree or agree I don't care. I speak my mind and if you can discuss it civilly I will consider your perspective generally but and screaming at me for s reply will only make me ignore you xd. I feel hoyoverse caved to this fanbase needlessly when they made geo more offense oriented, when they got Zhongli needlessly buffed and I will really and fight to keep them from making electro more like cryo and pyro. Electro needs to keep being electro which means electro is not a one shot element, electro is the only element geared towards assault style which means its damage is from multiple hits not just one big hit. The only buff to electros that I would accept is a stacking damage buff for successive hits that is tied to the concept of conductivity and resistance like real electricity. Electro should shred enemy defense and/or deal more damage the more times it is applied x5 or 12 as long as It is applied but so many times within a time span to increase conductivity that is the only buff i see being appropriate to keep electro true to its element and buff it anything else i will fight and gather others to fight against as electro is my favorite element in genshin i will not tolerate it having an inconsistent identity like geo now has. I sat silently as mihoyo made geo offensive despite it being meant to be the ultimate defense element, I will not suffer hydro being made too offensive and I will cause an uproar if they even try to change electro to be a burst style element. I will divide the community for electro and i will manipulate people if I must though I prefer not to. Thanks for the video walrus always thought evoking as ever.

  10. That’s interesting….I had been guessing that CN players were happy with the things that annoy a western player (cultural differences). Turns out that stuff annoys them, too…which actually confuses me even more. You are looking for a unified front, Walruss, but you won’t get it because players are at different levels of progress. No endgame? Hoyo’s solution is to roadblock players from getting that far. Stingy resources? Well, they have to do that because there is no endgame. It circles around.

My Genshin day now consists of logging in, doing the same dumb missions yet again (‘what? Didn’t I find your key for you yesterday?’). Farming for artifacts, getting crap drops, running out of resin, and that’s it for today. For this I whaled to get characters??? I was figuring, SOMEONE must like this. Maybe CN players do? God knows why they would, but Hoyo MUST be doing this for a reason. Is it really just a matter of milking whales short term, pulling the rug out from under us, and then waiting around for more whales to come? This whale is getting ready to swim away. Hey, Hoyoverse, the new characters look nice. Too bad you have convinced me not to buy them.

  11. Just call Genshin Impact's approach at the generosity to the players, the way they view players as statistics to how they establishes end-game (or lack thereof) as cynical, soulless and squandered

Yet the Genshin Impact fanboys and fangirls brushes the genuine criticism as "ungrateful", fuelling further the soulless cynicism and squandering treatment of players' psychology, yet if you try to compare Genshin Impact to any other game, they loose their mind and starts loosing their pretense of cool then starts raging to defend Genshin Impact's dehydrated and decrepit status quo

  12. My point of view is, Genshin is 100% a single player non competitive game, the issue is not solely just the game but also is of the player's themselves.

I was a day 1 player, so I remember the days of everyone trying to RUSH their progression. Content Creators made guides to speedrun AR progression, inadvertently creating FOMO to viewers with videos saying Guaranteed 5* Domain Artifacts after AR45, or from bosses at AR55, 'This character is a must pull", etc.

I not blaming the CCs, after all it's their job to create content, I'm simply saying they were and still are focusing on the wrong thing regarding this game.

When you play a single player game like, Spiderman, what's the main experience, we take our time to enjoy the combat, visuals, story then we do side quests and tasks while we wait for any new DLC.

Eventually those side quests become repetitive and boring, even though your experience of the game was amazing. We put the game down and only return when we feel like it.

That is Genshin overall, even if you wanna say it's not the same type of Game, Genshin is Gatcha, true.. but Genshin is a single player game, with coop for convenience, it isn't a MMO.

You aren't in a guild, you have no obligatory responsibilities, sure there may be important story 1 time events, but you can login at you own time to do, or just watch a YouTube video on it. Also gatcha-ing for limited characters aren't needed.

I believe players apply FOMO inadvertently on themselves, with the way they think and how they play this game.

A simple analogy is, even though it's not the best, is when people say "Technology is evil", technology is neither evil nor good, it's the way people uses it. Same for Genshin, it's how YOU play it.

  13. A lot of my personal disappointments came after the release of Inazuma, especially with the character design philosophy shift. The early characters are pretty flexible with obvious optimal builds. But we can still use them however we wanted. Then came Inazuma characters whose skills don't even work on themselves (Thoma, electro MC, Yoimiya). Or weirdly clunky characters like Yae or Sara. Then we have niche characters like Yunjin, Goro and Shenhe… nothing wrong being niche, but they feel more like stat sticks than an actual character. Overall the new units just feel bad or straight up not fun to use IMO.

Then there were communication issues like during the anniversary, the lack of meaningful end game contents, and the constellations of the newer characters that "fixes" energy issues etc. I still like the game, but if the character design trend continues after Sumeru/Dendro then I will likely quit the game.

  14. Thanks for posting this. I was convinced the CN players must be fine with the state of the game but apparently they’re annoyed too. It’s not that Genshin is a bad game at all, but once you complete the story so far and catch up on quests and exploration, there’s literally nothing to do except spiral abyss. The 2.7 delay is justified but it really makes it obvious how little content there is without these periodic updates

  15. Mihoyo are like:
If you're milking your cows, and see yourself getting 5 X more milk than all the other farmers, do you think I'm gonna change my milking techniques?

Basically, until Mihoyos playebase stops spending so much, is there even incentive to try something new and risky?

  16. this is a problem towards hoyoverse, although I understand the delay for 2.7, but the way they do the update sometimes really doodoo, I don't have complaints about it, and I don't hate it, but I don't enjoy it either, I kept myself enjoyed by raising characters and saving up instead of the mini event they provide, even now, I'm raising 3 characters at once and I'm having more fun than the teapot one.

I've promised myself that I'd stay til the game ends and see how will the story go, I'm that invested but really, I get burnout each updates specially a month before a new update releases, even abyss doesn't get my hyped up… more likely the rewards hype me up instead, I just sweep through since I've got the characters to cheese through it… but recently though, I've done the masochist way of doing abyss which at least made me enjoy a bit before logging off to do other stuff.

not to mention, Genshin may be my main game, but I play it as a side, login for 30mins-1hour, then log off and Draw something or play another game

  17. Sumeru will be the last chance I give to Genshin to hold me as a player. And I am playing since day 1

What angered me the most in the last days is that they drip market heizou but no official information about the start of the delayed patch.

But it’s like many people state here, the story could be awesome but is so damn slow or hidden behind text and item descriptions it’s just not fun.

No real endgame content and the events are most of the time boring as hell. We only do them for the primos not because we enjoy them. (Same for the abyss)

Character gameplay design is getting worse, making characters clunky and the only way to fix them is getting them to higher constellation.

Artefakt farming is mostly a pointless waste of time because you get bad Artefakte 75% of the time and the good ones then roll into bad stats ^^

And I could go on and on …

If the game doesn’t undergo changes and gets better until sumeru i will quit.

  18. I went back to play a lot of old games up to the ps2, and damn if i don't feel like a "gamer" again and it feels damn good. After that going back to genshin felt good tbh, fell in love again and i didn't quit for even a day, just tried many, many other non gacha games. These problems are all too real with genshin but also people, don't literally make one game your life, is no wonder people that loved genshin hate it now and swear it's an awful one (my friends) and fixate in meta to stress themselves more yup, big brain
