  1. "Don't use my voice without my permission" meanwhile they just replaced Tighnari's VA with another dude doing a stellar imitation of him.

Don't get me wrong. We're ALL going to hate AI in a couple years when they're grinding us all into components for batteries. But this is a stupid complaint. Otherwise Arnold Schwarzenegger is owed billions for all the Terminator quotes throughout the years.

  2. Tbh they won't be able to stop anyone, and they'll probably develop AI even more. Companies will find any way to cut costs, and the future, looks very much AI. As bad as it sounds, the world goes round.

  3. Of course you can't use anything that belongs to someone else without their permission, their voice, content, pictures.
You gotta ask first man, how would you (those AI users) feel if someone uses your voice or pictures without your consent. Bad right

  4. This goes deeper than just AI voice being controversial. Not only do Voice actors work hard and get paid for what they do, which AI voice takes the hard work and copies it. This could take a turn for the worse and Innocent people (not just VAs ) could be wrongfully accused for stuff they didn't do, all from forged audio.

  5. Although most of these be funny like the presidents and the one YouTuber that does SpongeBob, this is actually a problem since like the ai art, it messes with people’s time and hard work these talented people put in

  6. People are forgetting that AI will never have the same charm as organic voices. They assume it will be perfect and get scared of people losing jobs which isn't the worse to come out of it. The worse is for those who are starting out or are not on the scene yet. Contracts to own your voice will be a big issue for a quick buck. Voice actors are like art you buy online, you can go for the big names or find cheaper so in theory this mostly affects new VA.

  7. I personally don’t mine AI stuff, as in just for fun. It’s not gonna replace anything or anyone. However, if someone doesn’t WANT their voice or work being used through AI, then don’t. People should still be respectful of others wishes.

  8. Theres a few huge problems with it..firstly, the fact they can make them say anything at all, gets reallyyy messed up if they make them say lewd implications, its uncomfy as hell. Or something fake incriminating just because someone can just do it from hating in game character. Theyve gotten that dumb before. Theres a lot of ass sides to the community that it can become a huge problem with

  9. It's funny how VAs here get mad because of AI but in TF2 it's the most normal tool for creating memes. In my opinion there's nothing bad about people using AI.

  11. I think anyone's voice should be public domain
If they hate it they shouldn't work as a voice actor or put their voice on the internet.
the one actor saying she doesn't care if people do impressions is meaningless too, because voice impressions have no gray morality.

  12. It's scary because some people can create any random worst using an AI voice that sounds exactly like yours, the AI can say things that would insult other people or say swear words or slurs, even though you don't say stuff like this, the AI can make it sound like you're saying them.
