  1. I do want to state that i actually follow and watch both you and Walruss and contextually, what he is saying and what you are saying don't necessarily contradict. He said specifically those trying to be weeded out he presumes are those not spending money and sowing dislike of the game ergo painting a negative narrative which would not of course include you. Those new to the game type or whom don't like it are those whom will be weeded out because Genshin is still currently in an oversaturation point due to hype the target demographic are not the majority of those raising unnecessary complaints to which i agree. The game is due for a normalization which it has not yet hit. Every game has a hype phase which Genshin is currently still in two years after release which makes it hard for mihoyo to do what they truly want to do which Walruss has said in the video. I do think certain people and types do need to just go but yeah the game is still well overhyped and the population reflects this factually as you have now stated. Mihoyo wants the game to normalize so that it can have regulars and transient player base. Transients are those whom only return for major content updates even final fantasy 14 has them, then you have regulars whom are consistently on the game. Weeding process is to remove or make players quit whom no longer contribute and simply bash the game instead of criticizing it. Those whom don't spend money and are just bashing the game non constructively or played this game on a whim and want to make it something its not are those whom will be offput by such practices and this is not uncommon land lords in America do this to be able to get bigger spending renters in their properties to remove subsidized rental agreements. Essentially Walruss was pointing at all of this and saying don't quit though and stand your ground. I also want to point out i am against the end game people and those whom wanted Zhongli buffed as well as those whom want to change Electro and Hydro resonance and how these elements have their own identity as well as those whom threw a tantrum over anniversary last year. I also feel spiral abyss limits genshin as is in terms of character balance and diversity so i don't want any other events like abyss, this all said i do respect people's right to enjoy abyss, i advocate for another venue that is not resin locked and is repeatable like abyss but a completely different style of game venue. Repeatable content or long term content rather is needed i wouldn't per say consider them endgame by any stretch.

  2. Whales don't want to play the game that is "dead", regardless of it being focus single player or not, the "dead game" title once it is established you can never get away with it. Because it will cause a spiral of people quitting and new ones don't want to get in because nobody plays it. That's why they have to show the "profit" they earned to be your daily validation that the game is not dead, people still pay, just go play it. But that, and no content for multiple patches, is an insult to the already playing playerbase, you got that much profit, where the fuck is content ? They're just not giving a shit, If you can do minimum work for maximum profit, why not do it ? In a business POV it makes sense, but this is a game, if you don't give jack shit of content for people, slowly they will stop caring, why would they have to when you, the creator is not even care ?
Of course they don't want you to quit, they're just being lazy and can't get their head out of their ass and always sleeping on their victory, for so long now.
People from outside even say, in anniversary, that they made a whole concert for you in anniversary why are you complaining ? Because they assumed, the concert is additional with all the anniversary event and reward stuff, but only we know, THAT was the only thing we get, and it's not even for us the player, it's for them to be advertising to those outside of the game.

  3. It is really simple, only god and the people involved the project (i.e. Genshin Impact) know the facts to most of the stuff we speculate on. It is a game and for some it maybe more than that (like ppl who are obsessed or those who earn by streaming the game or making content on it), most of us just need some entertainment. If Genshin is no longer providing you (you decide that if it is or not) entertainment, then it is really time to switch.

Genshin's stratergy is FOMO and making ppl so burnt out that they might think "If I spend some money, it might make it interesting" since you don't go to a casino and just sit and stare at the table to be entertained, YOU SPEND MONEY TO GET ENTERTAINED. Sure it might be somewhat entertaining to watch certain ppl loose money and some get really lucky, but the REAL THRILL of a casino is in you also spending, regardless of what happens to you.

For a gacha game, Genshin has had more success than it could ever wish for and they only care a little about how the game does (that "little" being the devs coz they made it, unless even they were just in for the money).

In the end, you could consider treating Genshin like social media. Some days interesting things happen, other days nothing happens and you just post coz everyone does and you don't wanna feel left out.

  4. I personally think that Genshin is trying to just get tons of new people all the time, rather than work on content that could be considered “endgame”, because they don’t really need to work on endgame from their perspective.

  5. I think Genshin is just Genshin That’s all it is. Every 6 Weeks we’ll get a new character (and weapon), possible location, and little mini games until we get to the next region. As long as they’re getting their money, i’m sure they are fine until the wallets start screaming and they need to make more hot characters.

  6. Yes they do. Once you got to the lategame, you are already money sunk after paying a lot, thinking it was worth, so you can't leave, or you are a redundant f2p filling their unstable servers and they don't want you anymore. Genshin needs endgame content.

  7. Off topic : Alot of people told me I quit FGO because of your video. Which I'm pissed because it's not the reason I quit. Ironic is that I quit like EARLY 2022.

    I quit FGO because
    – My burnout for this game is quite high ( 3 years and a half )
    – I feel like I was forced ( which is my nightmare most )

Yeah, FGO is still no.1 and I should play it like : I made my choice, I delete it. No excuses

  8. Genshin is the perfect casual game. After two years without endgame content people are still criticizing the game for not having one. Mihoyo does not care about endgame, when they plan their next update, they look into music, visual, lore, character and world building, they dont give a fck about endgame content. If a competitor game show ups that focuses on all aspects of Genshin and gives out endgame content, only then Mihoyo will wake up and implement something. But after two years and no Genshin killer on the horizon, we can just casually enjoy this almost perfect game for free.

  9. Probably Im one of the few who play genshin for story so I will probably never quit until Paimon betray us and the Unknown God banner come out. I take a break during the dry weeks of a patch, and always active on the first week to catch up to story quest and all that good stuff, rinse and repeat. Only grind when I see leaks of a character I really like (recently it was Yelan). Only then I log in everyday to do commission and save some primos for her. But before that I didnt play much, but not quitting tho. I enjoy Genshin like that.

  10. My theory on the reason why the only endgame content is locked behind resin is due to the new laws in China that state that people under the age of 18 are only allowed to play games for a limited amount of time per day. Genshin is widely popular and if they started being the reason that kids broke that law, it could result in the game being banned in China very easily. I've lived in China for years and Genshin Impact is pretty much the only thing online there that isn't banned. Considering this company is in China then that could cost them their livelihood.

  11. 8 minutes and 26 seconds of Valk spitting facts 🔥

Honestly though, the endgame is really bad, they really need to do something about it. If you don’t care about abyss then what else is there to do? Co-op needs improving, there’s not much to do. As many people are saying, artifact grinding and leveling characters up is a right bore, but I guess that’s what it’s like in most gacha games. (I used to play KHUx and still casually play dissidia and it’s really not fun to do)

I’ve always thought they should make all the mini games they’ve designed for different events permanent or accessible somehow (I guess that require a lot of data or something?) but at least it would be something extra? Like the clash of lone blades event where you had to counter enemies was really fun for me, or that collecting coins in the domain event to. Little things like that. Or an endless enemy domain or something where you can apply your own restrictions like “only anemo characters” or “no claymores” or whatever, to give yourself a challenge, and play with friends too!

I’ve definitely been burnout playing this game in the past, what keeps me coming back mainly is the story and lore.

  12. in my opinion there is no end game because hyv wants it to be a game where you play if for like 30 mins a day, drop it and play something else (adding stories and events to keep some sort of interest) since this is their most successful game and they don’t want that to end.

  13. All I have to say is right now is genshin has a lot of complacency and a community disconnect. The lack of endgame, anniversary rewards and general stingyness are just a few examples. I don't think they're trying to get rid of players but players will get bored and quit if things continue the way they are.

  14. Nothing will change. Best example first anny. People raged like crazy. Dont get me wrong i Was pissed too. Then they released Itto and everything was cool again. Saying Genshins content are its chars is so wrong. There is a lot of players that cant afford every char and alot of players dont want to buy every Charakte. And i still dont understand how players can defend the overpriced charakters ~200-400$ for 1???

  15. I think that they don’t give what the community wants because they don’t need to. Player retention is still high and there are little to no incentives for Hoyoverse to give what players want due to the lack of competition.

  16. I mean, it's pretty obvious to me what they're doing. On release they stated that the game will have at least a 10 year lifespan, which already goes beyond the planned content. If they added a bunch of endgame content now, people will be done with the game long before it concludes. As long as player count keeps rising, they have no incentive to add new content. Once it drops, that's when they will expand the game. It's best to treat Genshin as a casual experience until it matures.

  17. They want the old players to quit that might create bad publicity for them.

That's what eroticwalrus talked about in his video.🤔

Edit: god damn, i didn't know you were gonna talk about that exact video.🤣

  18. Still Love to see Valk uploads, it's take like these that remind me why I jumped my time more over to Lost Ark and been loving it. I get rewarded everyday just by playing it and grinding random stuff rewards you with at least any bit, minor or major. Genshin droughts you from content, rewards is what we all know and experienced , superbly lackluster. Mihoyo has been quenching ur thirts slowly through drops of water while you gruelly stick your tongue out. This is a few of the Best and Worst game Ive ever played and Ive stayed at endgame for a year now. Where is the in game technical/mechanical progression? Are mfkers gonna stay with lvl13 talents and c33 on a 4*

And The world becomes so empty once you play through the ever so staggard content releases. At least back in the day with Wow you get your moneys worth full of content that most wont even cover until next patch, story progression or expansion comes.

God I love and hate this game

  19. Mihoyo has no idea how to make an endgame, its as simple as that. They have always been a gacha game creating company. Genshin impact does not have an open world boss fight yet.

  20. The main reason I’ve personally been less excited for the game is i just don’t know where the game is going in the short term. I know long term, we will have new regions, more story, and much more but I’m mainly worried about everything inbetween those long term check points. What sucks is that Hoyo dangles some of this content infront of us through limited time events. I believe a lot of these events are close to being fulfilling content if Hoyo polished them up event. The domain creation event would be nice as long term if they allowed for enemy placement. The current rhythm events should just be in the game long term, especially with all the time they must’ve put into making the systems and beat maps. Of course we can’t have this discussion without mentioning Windtrace. There are probably more events that could work as well (maybe like the misty dungeon event from 2.2 with Childe). Sorry if this was rambling but it’s just disheartening to see them keep adding these new events that would seem good for main stay content but are it’s regulated to limited time.

  21. Before I had commented on this video it is a good thing that I I’ve watch EW before I shared my opinion about what he said. So far there’s only a few things I agreed with him however most of the things you mentioned Valk I don’t have to rant about it is because you already pointed that out.

I can see GENSHIN IMPACT loosing older players due to the fact that some players lost interest for this game due the fact that Hoyoverse hasn’t tried to fix and balance their game nor adding good content for players to stay and continuously play the game.

I just wish Hoyoverse would listen to their community more then just only listen to the whales that it all.

  22. when I swipe for top up, I only do it on doubles
if doubles aren't reset, then I don't want to swipe

In my pov genshin as whole could be worth a 30$-60$-100$ if comparing to a triple a title
but again it's a subjective thing and not everyone playing genshin feels the need to spend.
The spending on gacha aspect is the trap, Fear of missing out, whenever I top up at all, it's just me enabling the company and me wanting to feel powerful in a single player video game.
To that end, I know I'm robbing myself of challenge all for the sake of saving myself time.
It's just being a victim of your own hubris.

Don't need to feel guilty about not spending on a successful company, already tons of 1%s that do already.

Have to ask yourself if you value your time more? or your money more?
and if the time you're having is enjoyable

  23. I understand people's frustration with a lack of challenge if you've been playing for a year+, but the chill experience is exactly why I've stuck with the game. I like taking 15-30 minutes per day to catch up on a podcast or some youtube videos while doing my dailies and a few random activities. In the same time I picked up Lost Ark, got toward the end of Tier 3 endgame, enjoyed it for a bit, and then uninstalled. I just couldn't keep up with the grind, with the social aspect of raiding, with all of it. I'm too old for that shit now.

If you're looking for an only game sure, Genshin is not it long term. But it's a nice place for me to play around with for a bit daily, and it does world design and exploration among the best in the genre. That's enough for me at least.

  24. the civility exhibited here is refreshing. I appreciate that you and most genshin creators say you don't have to spend money, but if it were me I would instead say don't spend money, except for on the Welkin. Granted it definitely sucks waiting for the gems, but the price is slashed from around $223 for an event 5 star character to just $29.

  25. I think Hoyoverse doesn't add more challenging end game content because they want to keep people, not weed them out. The majority of the playerbase are mobile players. It's much harder to play on the phone than it is on a PC, so they can't make the gameplay too difficult. And an average phone will only get a couple of hours out of the game before it overheats, needs to charge, etc., so they can't make the content take too long. Especially since people also need to do dailies, use resin, fight bosses, work on characters, explore the world, etc. So it would be difficult for them to add more meaty content that would work for the big mobile playerbase. If they favour those who want the content, they'll get review-bombed by the mobile playerbase for playing favourites/leaving them out.
