  1. It's hilarious because Genshin isn't even their game. If you check, most of the time the US isn't even in the top 10 money making countries for the game. It's Japan, Singapore, China, South Korea and Taiwan beating the US for revenue going to MiHoYo. Hell, even Australia usually beats out the US. North America is like 10-15%. What the crap do they think they can get? This Chinese company is going to follow the money.

  2. 6:20 Geeky. Alejandro Saab, plays Cyno, and Egyptian themed darker skinned (for the game) character. He definitely is one of the characters that the VAs would have "stepped down" from so their ethnic coworkers can "finally have a job." Yet the character came out two years ago, so he is sitting pretty on his payout for voicing an Egyptian, when the closest he is is part-Lebanese.

  3. This is the Peter Dinklage situation again. They already got paid, so now it's time to complain. Except Dinklage is rotten rich and these American VAs will be living on stamps next year. Smart move

  4. Im a Genshin player since launched, have been playing it almost everyday (most of them short sessions for dailies), I'm a person of color (pure southeast asian, born and living there), and the US player based aren't even in the top 10 highest number of players. They tried boycotting the game before, it didn't worked at all. Khoi voices a german white boy and Valerie voices an obviously white dog girl, Saab voices an dark-skinned egyptian guy, Allegra voices a chinese pirate lady AND a japanese hunter. Talk about being hypocrites.

  5. These people are so infatuated with their own moralistic hate boners for everything they cant control, its amazing.
We called them "Crybullies" back in 2014.
They've gotten even worse since then.

  6. These English VAs are entitled idiots. Their jobs were already on the line, as many players in the west prefer the Japanese voiceovers over the English ones. They are just lucky that Hoyoverse has billions of dollars to spend on English VAs to appeal to a certain part of their global audience.

  7. So most of you guys in the comments are ignorant and hypocritical, and I’ll explain why.

Just bc this game is fictional, it doesn’t give them a reason to ignore culture they based something off of. That’s stupid and it’s not even a smart thing to do at all. Natlan was based on Latin America and Africa. Some of these characters are named after African gods and yet you can’t even get some simple skin color right. Just being a fantasy game does not give them the right to disrespect real world cultures they based a fantasy on. This video is also just not it, you guys don’t understand bc this is not your cultures, these are other ppl speaking abt THEIR culture, you nor anyone who’s not part of the cultures have no say so on this really.

  8. Where were they when the Greek Gods or the Nors Gods were changed to black and Asian?
I really hate these VA that think they can dictate what the creators should do. You are just doubling
And by all means, google Colombian, Venezuelan, and a few other south American countries actors. People keep pushing this thing as if all South Americans are brown people. Even tho most people I know are white. Some with lighter skin than most Americans.
I hope miHoYo flat out tell the agency that they don't want those actors ever performing any of the voice translations. And to get new people or they'll be replace with AI. MiHoYo doesn't need these woke VA. There are many other people that also speak English, in other countries that would be happy to be paid scraps and not complain ever.

  10. How stupid are these VAs?
Bitching and moaning over something so superficial like skin color on a fictional digital anime waifus, to a dev company that's under the thumb of the CCP.

We're bordering on modern-day idiot Marxism vs old guard Communism.
    This shit it too ironic!

  11. I personally think that these actors are showing their age. A lot of them are still kids and a lot of these kids want to pander to the whole "REPRESENTANTION" crowd just to virtue signal. They don't understand that what they are doing is highly unprofessional and it's the reason you don't see word vomit like this coming form Japanese voice actors. If hoyo doesn't want to make darker skin characters, let them. It's really within their artistic freedom to do so and while i love chocolate waifus myself, I rather have a dark skin character that came form the heart rather than a forced one.

  12. I truly love watching the grandstanding from anime dub actors about "playing your own race" when the vast majority of them are white and have no problem voicing Japanese characters.
