Bro dont take rest
Ah yes, go after the Chinese company instead of a American company…
(Definitely no biases or agenda here)
PGR has no 50/50 system. Characters, Weapon, and CUB banner is 100% chance. So there Gacha games could change if they want to. PGR does sell a lot of skins to make up for it.
When you pull a characters in this game, it should show so how much it cost u in real world currency..instead of their own made currency
I fully disagree with "buying skins with money instead of lunite" cause i've always buy the subscription and i have bunch of lunites, skins are basically free for me
The US federal trade commission is only going after Hoyoverse because 1: they make a lot of money that leaves the US economy, and 2: they recently laid off a bunch of overseas workers. I don't see why lootboxes and crates and packs aren't in the same category as gacha, save for the fact that they don't actually make as much money as gacha games because gacha games sell husbandos and waifus instead of things like weapon skins.
covid buff already expired so they're getting pummeled hehe
If this happened to Genshin Impact, most likely 2 other game: HSR and ZZZ will be affected as well since they have same gacha system. I hear about this before and kinda doubt it will have any repercussions but after what US did to tiktok, it's somewhat possible. no?
Like if the English Va's don't come back the next 2-3 updates I might quit Mihoyo/HOYOVERSE games (Except for HI3)
If US court wins or settles this case, this could potentially shift other games that have US servers as well. Since it will set a precedence for other games to be sueable. Most if not all gacha has virtual currency and many even unguaranteed pulls, so I'm not sure they're going just Hoyo or a blanket for all of gacha genre.
I think the reason why some people argue with the 50-50 is because some people may dislike it because some people like it due to the fact it’s gambling and when you win something it’s more rewarding
Genshin Fanatics will rest for once 😂
No self accountability lol. If you can't do basic math to convert primogems to irl currency, you deserve it. The only one crying are the people that spent $1000, 5k, 10k, 50k, $100k+ on Genshin and are now experiencing the worse sunken cost fallacy because of the game's current state lol.
I feel like this wouldn't be a huge issue if gacha games had an 18+ rating and clearly stated that they contain "gambling mechanics". Afterwards, it would be the parents' responsibility to make sure that their kids aren't spending money on these games.
the only gacha game i played before genshin was pokemon masters EX and in it getting a general pool 5 stars doesn't reset the pity count and when you reach pity they show you a list of all the 5 stars available in the banner and you pick whoever you want. you can imagine how devastated i was when i lost my first 50/50 in genshin lmao
this will as sucsessfullas the suit from china imo
i was there when Shylily spent i believe like 800€ just to get a single copy from Firefly + Lightcone, she had to go to hard pitty 4 times during that she legit cried and toped up multiple times, this is how bad it can actually get
Dawei is crying right now because he's being punished for selling gambling to children. ðŸ˜
God bless his poor soul
One Punch Man world basically copied Mihoyo's gacha system but they screwed up in being stingy from the get go. They thought they could coast on the one punch man IP and people would just brainlessly pay 1000s of dollars to get the character. Well, it didn't work out for them and their game is now making <900 dollars a month. Companies need to understand you got to lure people into your game by pretending to be "generous" and when the sunk cost fallacy has set in then you can start being greedy. This is what Mihoyo did with HSR, where they were dishing out all these qoL and free rewards and now are becoming increasingly greedy.
Hey i love wuwa and it's my favorite game rn, but hear me out i only win 50/50 on jinhsi banner the rest? I always lose, lose jiyan got yinlin, got jinhsi lose changli, i didn't pull in zhezhi banners, xly (free), pull sk lose and tried rate on got her, skip camel since i want carlota, pull carlota lose first try and still got her rate on, i really love this game but my luck make me don't want to play wuwa any more, i will wait for promelia and drop wuwa for my sanity
In Epic 7 (another gacha game), basically the entire NA section of support staff was laid off. Legit question, could this be a coincidence?
FTC cracking down on lootboxes and gacha games is a good thing. Problem is they aren't cracking down on these, they're singling out Hoyoverse, a chinese developer. Meanwhile they completely ignore publishers like EA and 2K who are based in the US that also sell gambling to kids in the form of sports games. Might i add that EA and 2K have been doing this shit way before Hoyoverse and many other gacha games.
Best way to deal with this shit is having the base character be a guranteed and further dupes be on 50/50. Thats a healthy between
No,because it can be applied to litteraly any game/company,and that's not what you want.
Whoever invented 50-50 I hope they have a good life 🙂
Because in hell you might not see someone that forgiving.
All Gacha's are deceiving. Genshin's has been the same for years, years and years, and doesn't from the article and such, it doesn't seem like the rates were changed at all, like that one incident, I forget the game, how the rates were changed by the devs.
But Genshin isn't such, most, or I'd believe everyone knows Genshin has a 50/50 system. So there is nothing confusing about it. All of them are predatory. Every single one. Hell I'd argue HSR is WORSE then Genshin right now in terms of it's pred tactics. But cause Genshin is the BIGGEST, course it'd be effected more.
I feel like this will cause a domino effect, in which either more will get targeted, or something will change to help players better.

Dawei May Cry 2 :
Seeing Hoyo needing to go through this with the US FTC just made me realize Kuro's genius of using the same shit 50/50 but having a twist that can save their asses if what the US FTC is doing is a blanket for all gacha games. First having a guaranteed weapon banner unlike any of the big 3 hoyo games already sets it up in a way that they are just selling the weapon for a max roughly around $165 or 12,800 lunites/astrites per copy at 80 pity.
Then the 50/50 issue of just being a chance to get the character can technically be easily countered by the fact that they do have character copies(2) that are available for exchange, granting that even if players still need to have the base character it still doesn't take away the fact that the game has a guaranteed way of getting a "copy" of the character
mean nothing
Finally people wake up and see that the 50 50 system is evil. Because of that i couldnt get a few good (even meta) and favourite 5 star characters in both genshin and Star rail.😢
I pray that 50/50 is no more 😀 imagine how many characters you can max out
Man anyone calling 50/50 evil needs to sent back to non 50/50 era of fgo. They will realize what the og's went through ._.
Yo E-thin great to see you keep up the grind even with recent surgery. Big ups.
This feel like targeting china. And i dont play hoyo game or feel allied with the china against us
As a precursor: I'm an adult.
I've spent money on Genshin (fully aware of how much I was spending, and what I was getting for it) I genuinely think EVERY gatcha game is a scam, just like casinos. After spending somewhere in the ballpark of $500 within a few months, I realized how ridiculous it was to dump funds into something I didn't NEED to. Therein lies the problem for a lot of people out there: they don't know when to stop, nor do they understand how dumb it is to spend money on what is essentially pretty pixels. Genshin DOES market to kids/teens, who are far more likely to throw money into a game and NOT understand just how much they're wasting. The concept of money to a child is moot.
No matter what action Hoyo takes, kids can and will find ways to pivot around the 'rules'. Just like porn sites, etc.
So these gacha games are predatory right, limited time character, limited time discount on skins, these are all predatory practices. It doesn't matter if one practice is less predatory, it is still predatory.
Now If we understand that these practices is predatory and we fall for these practices why isn't our fault as well? Like obviously the company wants money, our money… But we're the ones who gets to decide are we going to give it to them or not, it's not like they're literally holding us up at gunpoint demanding we swipe for a limited character… So what's up with that?
Honestly as a super old gacha player before yea it sucked going 300 rolls gbf for a spark but u only need the chara once the weapons was a different story but there was ways to uncap using ingame items , then jenshin came in an introduce the 50/100 system and the worst thing to hit gachas the 6 dupe warping of mechanics system before for example worst was feh +10 but that was just stats but jenshin man they changed the chara and look now every cn game has that wuwa tower ntr etc but yea
1:30 only 23$?? bruuh I cant make more than that and not do anything genshin leaker to a tectone dogyesman
Just a reminder that some gacha games (most of the ones I've played prior to Genshin) didn't even have a guarantee system. Dragon Ball Legends is all pure chance with no guarantee whatsoever. A friend of mine litterally spend up to 1000 euros just to get LL Super Vegito back in 1st anni.
Genshin was the first gacha I'v played that had a guarantee pity system. I'm sure it wasn't the first ever with that system, but was definitely the first I played.
Hoyo fired EN translators because they SUCKED BALLS in their job. They litterally mistranslated a lot of stuff in the Natlan Archon Quest by litteally changing the meaning of a lot of stuff, they mistranslated the Sumeru AQ title back in the Travail teaser, as well the prequel manga in Chapter 0 (or 1, anyway Vanessa's chapter).
They didn't fire any other employee besides them, or if they did, the vast majority is still translators.
Genshin can burn to the ground just for putting TCG in the game, their quest dialogues are so fking boring to read, ugh.
Hoyo Solution: quit US market
I hope this will not affect HSR, GI, ZZZ game quality😢
The captain will be missed
Tbh, most ppl just calculate the money needed to spend on something before buying it. So only ppl who are literary kids or ppl who has too much money they doesn't care enough to do so. So saying trading money for a set of currency mainly for that is wrong. The reason why and I don't see anyone talking about it is the flexible that made-up currency can buy. U don't want to re-enter your bank page everytime you want to buy. Make-up currency is there to help you buy more things with just a press of a button. That means, the developer can sell you more things. This is when the PREDATORY practices step in.
So, does make-up currency is bad?
Yes and no, yes because of how it is very easy to use, No because it opens up for predatory practises to prey on you.
