  5. I haven't seen what was found, but what I've heard is they are both bathing suits. So they both(Barbara and Jean from what I read) wouldn't just be recolors, but one could be more elaborate that the other. I'm not that interested in skins overall, but I am interested in how they go about it. There are some characters that the right skin could tempt me.

    A 2B skin for Noelle would be one of those and make me use her even more. However because of the publishing rights splits for that franchise I wouldn't hold my breath that it could happen. That is supposedly why it was so hard to get it done for FFBE GL. If we got a 2B one do you see Xiao or Zhongli as 9S? lol. Thinking about it myself I would have to say Xiao. Way too comedic to see Zhongli running around in those shorts.

  8. Honkai eventually puts the new characters into their base pool, but it takes awhile. Probably anniversary or later they'll add the oldest banners to the standard pool.

  13. To clarify, here is a tweet I made 10 days ago (May 4) when I was talking to my discord friends about skin acquisition in Honkai Impact. This video has a fair bit of misinformation (in Honkai, character "friendship level" (affection) doesn't reward skins, for example). I've been playing Honkai for 3+ years, and I'm currently a Top 2% player (not here to promote my own content btw) and I want people going into the new skin system in Genshin knowing the correct things, so I have confidence in my knowledge of systems in Honkai

  15. My prediction with my time playing honkai is Barbara skin is going to be event shop and Jean is ether primogem gatcha or Genesis crystals.
    But pretty sure it's gonna be gatch to test the waters.

    Oh there's no friendship outfits in Honka.

  16. As an active Honkai Impact player I can provide a bit more insight to how outfits work and are obtained. First off currency equivalents are:
    Genesis Crystal > Bundle Chips (cannot be converted to Crystals)
    Primogems > Crystals
    Fate > Supply Cards

    Cost of one pull in HI3 is 280 crystals vs. 160 in Genshin.

    Ways to obtain outfits in cost high to low:
    Spending Event – spend Crystals on pulls to gain rewards. High level outfit at about $380 worth of pulls. (30,000 Crystals spent, supply cards count)
    Outfit Pyramid Gacha – guaranteed outfit after certain number of pulls, but can get early. Full Run 9600 crystals about $120 worth of crystals (other rewards if outfit is not pulled)
    Purchasable Outfit – Bundle Chips only. About $30-35
    Battle Pass Outfit – BP is Bundle Chips only. About $10
    Event, Login, Character Augment Outfit – Free > play event/login certain number of days/advance certain battlesuits.

    Costs Estimated on buying the $100 top up since it provides the most crystals/$$. Bundle chips don't get bonus for buying larger amounts.

    Battle Pass – just recoloring of basic skins
    Event/login – unique skin
    Character Augment – is basically a different battlesuit with own skills and FX – unique skin
    Everything Else – Unique Skin – often includes but not necessarily all:
    – different special FX including running, evasion, after images, basic attacks, skills, and ultimates (like 🔥 or ⚡)
    – different sound FX
    – different idle animation

    For those who'd like some good examples of paid vs original search for.
    – Fu Hua – Azure Empyrea and then Cerulean Court (wedding)
    – Durandal – Dea Anchora and then Stellar Promise (wedding)
    Both of these were obtained through Gacha which isn't the most expensive, but everything about them is different compared to the original.
    Everyone fight over your favorite waifu 🤣

    If these Genshin outfits are only new skins without different FX in any regards chances are they won't be too expensive.

I am excited of the thought that more characters will be given for free in the future because now whales aint pulling for character banners so they be spending on skins meanwhile the low spenders wont spend on skins so Mihoyo needs to make characters available to make them buy skins. It’s a win for f2p at the end of the day.

  19. I don't mind paying. All I ask for though is to get some lore based or in fiction skins, ala a skin for Venti of his bard friend or Zhongli's God outfit.

    I could care less about swimsuits for wifus or modern day clothes but maybe that's just me

    In general the easier/cheaper it is to acquire a skin in Honkai, the less extravagant it is (some are just recolors), though there can be exceptions.

    TLDR

    Free Skins
    Event
    Augment Core (Closest Parallel to this system Genshin has is the Ascension Bonus Rewards or the Friendship system. Though there isn't a 1:1 parallel)
    Spending Primogems

    Paid Skins
    BattlePass
    Genesis Crystals

    Honkai Also has a Gacha Outfit banner, but with Genshin only having 2 skins it doesn't make sense for an outfit gacha to exist (yet).

  27. lol if the character i like gets a skin i will likely sell out i am willing to throw down 38 usd for a low poly skin and some gems in a different game because I love it enough so thats all i have to say

  34. I´m really biased when it comes to skins because I play league of legends and they offer great skins for a fair amount of money. If genshins skins seem bad or too pricy for what they offer, I will ignore them because I don´t need them

  35. Ah okay I finally got it. As a honkai player, I was super duper confused by what the hell you were talking about with friendship based skins in Honkai. There's not a single skin in the entire game that works like that. Then I got to your talk at 1:26 and it made sense. Let me clarify that: Those aren't skins in the traditional sense. Those are actually augments of the unit.

    Augments, like Molotov Cherry's Fervent Tempo Delta or Violet Executor's Twilight Paladin, are basically whole new units in themselves that use the unaugmented version as a base. They usually play differently and have completely different skills from the base. An example being that while Molotov cherry's charged attack (the click and hold move) is a spin move similar to a noelle charged attack, Fervent Tempo's charged attack is a single swing that enters a augment exclusive "Fervent Mode" that gives her higher attack speed, a second sword and new effects on her appearance.

    Beyond that, using the augment skins can only be done while the augment is active. However while you can use skins for, say Violet Executor as Twilight paladin (personal favorite is Blood Knight: Moonlight skin), the inverse is not true. So a skin like the recently added twilight paladin event skin CANNOT be used by the unaugmented base form. Getting the base augment skin also takes quite some time. As you need to get to augment rank 4 before it's usable, as Augment rank 4 is usually the point where you actually have all the skills active.

    That all isn't to say that they COULDN'T add this system into Genshin, hell they already have a basis for it: Delusions. Delusion forms of units can be augments that fundamentally change the playstyle, skills, appearance, and voicelines of the character with them. Not every character would get one, of course, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be possible. Especially since we've seen that delusions DO change appearance and fighting style (childe boss fight).

    TL;DR is Augments are not a friendship system and don't require a rework to be brought into Genshin. Should have probably asked a honkai player about that all before ya made those statements
