the archon war and khaenri'ah destruction are different things. and venti wasn't even part of the cataclysm! he was in mondstadt fighting durin with dvalin's help. we dont know about zhongli tho, he didnt say anything and ei didn't participate too (and i guess she dont supoort it bc it says she doesnt have contact with celestia anymore, also lost her sister there). by the images of khaenri'ah i think who was actually there destroying the nation was the sustainer of the heavenly principles (the unknown god) maybe other god but this information is very vague. but we're gonna get more khaenri'ah lore on 3.5 so maaybe we are gonna know more about it in the future!

Well, Venti was asleep during the archon war and the Khanri'ah thing. Venti became the anemo archon by default and slept through Khanri'ah destruction. Remember because Venti says he cannot control how long his slumber lasts or when he sleeps? He can only wake up when he's actually needed (for instance: to help fight off the unfair/bad rulers). I find it a little inaccurate to him so I wanted to say this because I really like Venti >.>

Archon War:
Seven seats opened up in the heavens, seven gods could become stronger than the others and lead a nation, they could become "Archons". The war started and ended at different times for different nations.
For Monstadt, it was just Andrius vs Decabarian, and then the people of Monstadt revolted and then killed the God of Storms. Andrius didn't want to become an Archon so Venti the Wind Spirit became the Archon.
There were many gods and god-like beings who were killed in Liyue such as Osial, Chi, Havria, Guizhong, the god that enslaved Xiao, and much more. Then there was the "wrath of the gods" materializing as miasmas, monsters and demons.
As for Inazuma, I think the Kitsune-Tanuki War happened near or during the Archon War, and then there was the slaying of Orobashi. I don't know when the Thunderbird died but I don't think it was during the Archon War. Maybe the yokais also had a couple of wars for themselves.
As for Sumeru, I don't think there's any mention of the Archon War. There were just 3 gods and they worked together to lead Sumeru.
Cataclysm:
It is the destruction of the Khaenriah, the Heavenly Principles summoned all 7 Archons (except for Greater Lord Rukhadevatta since she had to protect Irminsul) to destroy Khaenriah, and since they were summoned it means some of them could of been forced to destroy the nation against their own will. As for why Khaenriah was destroyed, the reasons could include
1. having too advanced technology
2. being a godless nation
3. spreading abyssal monsters and beasts(whether intentionally or unintentionally)
4. having an outlander(the abyss twin)

cataclysm happened 500 years ago while the archon war is in 2000 years ago. what happened in cataclysm is still unknown if the archons destroyed it or they came their to save it. also at that time every region is having a crisis that's why some archon didn't event participate like rukhhadevatta- just nahida since they both the same person lol.
venti didn't participate in the archon war, he was given the title by the previous anemo archon who participated

im pretty sure the archon war and the cataclysm is different, the archon war is a war between gods fighting for the archon position, while cataclysm is where the archons destroy khaenri'ah.

hiii, quick correction. the cataclyem of kharenri'ah happened 500 years ago and the seven were seemingly "forced" to destroy it. they didn't really want to destroy it but celestia went "no, destroy it" LOL and the archon war is about 2000+ years ago. this is a good vid btw
