Actually there is connection to Honkai. Welt (dude with glasses and cane) travelled directly from Honkai Impact to here to save the Galaxy. He bring a couple people with him but he lost them somewhere lmao. Also there's a direct world-building connection they share together: Genshin Impact, Honkai Impact 3rd and Star Rail are the worlds on the brancher of the Imaginary Tree, that is wrapped by Sea of Quanta (space between dimensions). Some character can travel to different world through this Sea, usually characters with Quantum affinity. Because this is different, but parallel, universe, some characters are basically copies of Honkai Impact characters: Bronya, Seele, Natasha, Cocolia, Luocha (Otto), Li Sushang, Himeko, Yanqing, Kafka, Silver Wolf and others. You don't need to play Honkai Impact to play Star Rail but if you played you will know the basics of world building and some of the characters. The most important concept for all Hoyoverse games is the Imaginary Tree (basically World Tree). It's not actually a tree but I will not go into quantum physics to explain it now lol (they did it in Honkai Impact though).
There are 7 "elements", but actually they are "types": physical, ice, fire, lightning, imaginary and quantum. There's also Paths but you don't need to worry about them until you start the game.
Game will come out on 26th of April with pre-download on 23th and will be avaible on phones, PC and PS5 from the start.
The "Thunder God" and the white-haired guy with birds is the same person and he will be on the second event banner so you have enough time to farm resources for him. The first banner is Seele, quantum-type girl with a scythe and she is insane (she can grab all turns from enemies for herself lmao). Also paired good with Bronya (and they are canonically, well, together in all universes).
Interface of this game is very close to Genshin so you will have no trouble to adapt and will find every needed feature pretty fast.
And MC uses bat, yeah. You can use other weapons later if you want to change the type of MC but bat is always availble and it is pretty good. Lance is great but I preferred to use bat on MC on beta.

You might need to find time to watch the Special Program that they did for Honkai Star Rail because they talk about a lot of important stuff in the video.

The scale of Honkai compared to the God like beings in Star Rail make the Honkai look like kids.
that's not Diluc she's another multiverse version of Himeko Murata from Honkai impact on genshin the Pyro Archon is also called Murata
in Starrail there are several characters that are alternative versions of Honkai two that I remember now are Seelie and Bronya but there are several others

honkai impact and honkai star rail could be the continuing of the game with Bronya and Seele leaving together and stopping bronya mother from a evil voice and saving her from hurting them. also the mysterious woman from the sky who did a attack on us might be connect with somebody in honkai impact also we met fu xuan who created honkai impact beasts to end the war!!! their so many lore into this game that we are missing i was thinking is honkai star rail gonna have more lore then genshin does?

The global version is 1-2 years behind so you won’t find every trailer on their global channel, but you can find the later trailers on YouTube as well with subs.

So Star Rail is a continuation of Honkai Impact 3rd. Why because, in the Reburn 2 we see Welt and Carol going to space using the Cosmic juggernaut aka the Astral express and also there is a arc in the Honkai Impact manga we see welt on the astral express talking with luocha the otto lookalike, talking about the aliens that appear in APHO. Right now we only have welt from the old cast but who know who can come back from the other game, seen how we dont know why Carol and Welt were the only ones that were seen going to space in Reburn 2.
