  1. So yeah, this whole debacle is pretty much the equivalent of a parent seeing if their kids are ready to be independent. Just MUCH higher stakes involved. Some might see it as a d*ck move, but for someone as long lived as him, and being a god and all that, his viewpoint is already something not many can share.

Now 2 things relating to the Traveler:

    1. Get used to them having very little lines to speak of in the main story. The only other times you'll hear them speak is if you go to the character menus and listen to some voice lines (which is a LOOOOOOOOOT) and not many players will know about this the first time around so the lore for the MC is very hidden if you're not a very inquisitive player. For some reason, Hoyoverse really wanted to keep them as the semi-silent protagonists because (reminder that you can choose to play as the brother or the sister) they are pretty much supposed to be self-insert characters for the players. Which is stupid because they have their own story and personality, but it's been this way for 3 years now, and I don't see that stopping anytime soon.

    2. The only reason they just asked to just put up Missing Person posters, is because they are only focused on finding their missing sibling (who you saw was on the enemy side for some reason). While they are good natured, they don't really go out of their way to help everyone in need like a superhero. Just whoever they meet on their journey and usually want some compensation for the help. Remember that the Traveler is not from this world and was initially going to leave it with their sibling until they were stopped by the Unknown God in the beginning of the game.

In any case, stories in Liyue are not over, but this Arc definitely is. And since you 2 mentioned finishing the first event story, I do hope you'll check out the Character Specific quest playlist I left in your Genshin discord, because that's the only way you'll naturally meet certain characters like Klee.

  2. Great reaction! I am a little concerned, though. Do you know if this series you're watching includes special events or story quests? Both are important to understanding the story as a whole. Certain world quests also fall into that category.

  3. After this point in the story some changes happened in the world.
The main one is that the Jade Chamber is no longer floating over Liyue harbour.
The second is that you can find missing person posters all around the city.

  4. Thanks for this video!! i really enjoyed this series๐Ÿ’• before moving to inazuma archon quest, i think it's the best time to check the quests with Dainsleif? i think it's a world quest called Bough Keeper: Dainsleif..

  5. I don't think it's ever going to be covered by the reaction series, because it's buried way too deep in the lore, but it seems that during the Archon War, the "Gods" that eventually ended up becoming Archons were not actually celestia's first picks. Celestia's criterion were seemingly more oriented around who loved humans the most, not who the "strongest" gods were. Gnosis were given out to these gods by celestia to aid them which is what made them "Archons".

In Liyue it actually seemed like the god who might have actually been intended to become the Archon was the one who had the idea for first founding the city of Liyue, a goddess of dust named "Guizhong". She is an extremely big deal in the background lore, but she does not actually show up in the games "archon story" (aka main story quest). She actually roped Zhongli into her plans fairly early on, as she asked him to defend people – creating one of the first contracts in the nation at a place that would come to be known as the Guili assembly (being the combined forms of their names and the place of their first agreement). Zhongli was the strongest god in the nation at that time and he was just an absolute wreckingball who rolled over other gods easily, but almost always did what Guizhong suggested. When Guizhong died during the archon war, Zhongli moved people from the Guili Assembly to what would be the harbor city of Liyue, and that is what eventually became the nation of Liyue. Guizhong was the brains, Zhongli was the brawn.

The whole "Rite Of Parting" that Zhongli had the Traveller help conduct as all sorts of direct and symbolic connections to Guizhong, featuring a device she made, a perfume she likely would have wore, and her favorite flowers. It seems like by ending his role as archon, Zhongli was also saying goodbye in some way to Guizhong's dream. The rite of parting ended up being a funeral for her final symbolic death.

  6. The lesson of Liyue's story is that Zhongli wants to honor things like Keqing's way of handling things. He wants to honor that humans CAN take care of themselves and they don't need to rely on divine power to solve every niggling matter like Madame Ping said.

That was the whole point of the test; to see if Liyue can competently defend themselves without his help just like how a parent wants to see their child grow up and become independent

  9. The title Shogun (military ruler/dictator) is the abbreviation of the historical title Sei-i Taishลgun.

(sei, ใ›ใ„) means "conquer" or "subjugate"

(i, ใ„) means "barbarian" or "savage

    dai, ใ ใ„) means "great"

    shล, ใ—ใ‚‡ใ†) means "commander"

    gun, ใใ‚“) means "army"

So the literal translation of Sei-i Taishลgun would be 'Commander-in-Chief of the Expeditionary Force Against the Barbarians.
