  1. It's because june the 4th is coming up. They dont want people to make fun of the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests, where many chinese citizens were killed. If you play any other chinese games then youll notice that during that day especially you cannot change your user so people wont start making fun of it. I believe that in china, mihoyo could get into legal trouble if that happened, really, so i dont blame them much.

  2. to the people that didn't know its because June 4th is coming up and that was the day of the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests, tons of Chinese citizens were killed. Mihoyo and other Chinese games don't want people to make fun of it. That's why we can't change our names and signatures

  3. you can't change your name or signature temporarily due to this message: 'For people that don't know, It's because june the 4th is coming up. 5. Imagine having approx 30 million Chinese citizens die from starvation due to a communist dictatorship. Afterwhich you, a student, go and protest at Tianemen Square to bring democracy to your country. (Aka, having the ability to vote for a new government). The government goes "haha no" and proceeds to fire machine guns at you and your classmates and squash citizens with tanks. Aprox 5000 people died that day.

Skip to modern day, the Chinese government has successfully censored every single possible form of communication (games included). Having a conversation about "Tiananmen Square's history" in China is pretty much impossible. Even if you DO manage to strike a conversation, you'll risk reducing your citizen "social credit score". (Think of it as a grading system to rate how "loyal" you are to China. If your score is too low, you'll receive punishments such as low hospital priority, banned from leaving China, or have your face appear on public posters and cinemas)
