It's so sad. I love this game. and seeing it get pulled to the ground is just heart breaking. Maybe I'm just mad, but I don't even have the mood to log in and do dailies anymore. I am so disappointed, and I know a lot of people feels the same way. Mihoyo needs to say something at least. We deserve that much.

I think people are being way to over dramatic about this anniversary event. Mihoyo gives us a game to enjoy and everyone complaining about not getting anniversary reward. Mihoyo spends alot of time and effort into this game ro make it the best as it is and people are hating on it because the reward. This is a new low.

That 40 primos after the web event is just a slap on the face coupled with another slap by the 20 primos you get for sharing the event to your friends. The creative team, music team, animation team are all great. The PR team is just straight ass. They are way too silent for an issue as big as this. They could have dodged it by speaking about it by just acknowledging the issue and it doesn't even matter if they give out amazing rewards or not. As a low spender, this is hella disappointing to watch and as a avid player, everything is just sad to witness.
They should not make the same misteak.

I think the anniversary was kinda lame, but rather than complain about it, I'm gunna go play new world.
I'm going to be honest, i was in the "forget it happened ship" but yesterday with the bad reviews in the app store/play store I enjoyed it in a sadistic kinda way hahaha. I'm not in either extreme but it was fun to see the power the community has over the app. Of course it was good until they went over honkai and ruined it. Let's see next stream what happens

@EroticWalruss – That's a good take on the current situation. The real problem between MHY and playerbase is the lack of communication. This has been ongoing since long time back with players providing countless feedbacks and there is very little (if not none) response from the company itself.
This whole anniversary drama and specifically MHY's reaction to it with taking down negative post / remain silent and not addressing what and why is this happening really points the fact – there is no mutual communication to begin with.
Competition amongst business is good – it makes the company keep track of one another and try to improve the PR amongst the consumers. The problem at this moment is Genshin Impact simply has no competitor – they have been at the top of their own game. Without business competition threat, the awareness to make their own product to grow and to keep a good PR with consumers are simply not there.
Something is better than nothing. Like harrasing innocent VA's. What a disgusting community.

Respect for your oppinion man. Well said, its not about the rewards its about how MY has been treating GI and its community for a while now. From what I`ve gathered, its not MY as a whole direclty, but rather the team that manages GI specifically that allowed for all this crap to happen, as well as why the rewards in general are so poor since day 1.
Apparently the Honkai team is much better at giving out rewards (now I know there was this huge controversy between CN and Global server, but the CN playerbase has some very very strong toxic elements that are outright psychos > like the guy who tried to knife a MY employee or something like that). But even so for a anniversary, this should have been big, and rewards should have been a plenty. Some other gacha games give insane stuff for their anniversary to show the players they appreciate their support through out the year.
We can only hope this has blown big enough to reach MY executives and them coming down on the GI team HARD, and possibly replace some of the people responsible for whats been going on in the game as well as this anniversary fiasco with more competent people who are in touch with the community and not tone deaf like the current one clearly are.
After that they need to give out a LOT of stuff to stop the bleeding, and start fixing the sh*t that has been broken for a long time, balancing underpowered characters, creating some long term content (come on, its not so hard making a randomly generated dungeon that you can enjoy solo or with your friends in coop for some neat rewards) and just generally trying their best to fix the huge rep damage that has been done.
I stopped caring once the 28th came. I didn't even want summons, I wanted buffs for old characters, outfits, and resin bumps for anny.
At this point, they haven't even attempted to own up, and they won't. This just broke any trust I had for them.
So this upcoming year, yeah I'll be playing. But I don't trust them. I won't expect anything different than last year. And I will drastically cut down on my spending.
I know my actions won't mean much if anything. But it'll be a win for me personally. May even find a new game come next year, so I'm just playing it by ear.
Tip for MiHoyo: you can't market yourself around building a "community" of players and then decide to only listen to the messages you care about. HoyoLab forums, all the online events for content creators, the constant social media presence and live streams… They want to have a fanbase but they don't know how to handle the power they're giving to the players. In the end, they're ignoring the actual game to favor the online community because fans are free promo for them. Proof of that is the anniversary rewards: all/most of them come from outside the game, from fan interaction, from sharing content online and doing free advertisement for MiHoyo, not an in-game event. That should be evidence of MiHoyo's only concern.

Now i have supported the game from spending money getting welkin moon and battle pass to getting friends to play because as you said it is a good game and will continue to be when they do release content but they have shown we are cattle as you put it and they got my money and if they give things out why would i give them more and why i will no longer give them any and support them in that way, im still going to play but just as a casual and what i would tell others to do, even if everyone leaves they made enough money for another product and start again.
I am not a true fan of Mihoyo, I am a true fan of Genshin Impact… To say you would rather get nothing than "something" when we are talking about a free item (they dont have to give you anything, they already gave you a game) is a beggers cant be choosers situation… You pay for the gasha, YOUR CHOICE, others play F2P and somehow feel entitled to "free gifts"… I think this community is childish… Complain about actual issues with the game, like ALL progression being locked behind resin… Dont complain you didnt get "enough rewards" for playing a game… Complain about the little content, dont make MANY videos complaining about the "lack of gifts" and videos trying to rationalize your own spoiled behaviors. THEY DONT HAVE TO GIVE ANYTHING… And i truely hope on year 2, they dont even do an anniversary… Honestly with how many times this community turned on them over small things, do we really deserve it tho??
You, along with everyone else have precisely zero idea of what Mihoyo was planning for the anniversary. Boo hoo, they didn't tell you all a month in advance what they were going to do. Where I live, we have a thing called a surprise. We spring them on people hoping against hope they have not figured out what is is yet. I will never know what exactly they had planned because the community has spoiled everything for me. I cannot see the what the company is or was thinking so I can't really support or condemn them, but I can see the entitled community, and quite frankly it rather sickens me at this point.
