  1. Still looks like a frightening picture… But I think Furina was given the "theatre talent" in a way to celebrate her 500 ys long struggle. She is shown to be one of a kind, worthy of the vision because no one could have resisted so much as she has. She was probably "casually by fate" made to have acting as a talent so she could resist 500 ys.

  2. I love her because she’s reminds me of my self. I was always I should never expose anyone to my anger or sadness or it’ll infect them. Every time I cried, yelled, or even sighed too hard, my mother would ask if I even loved her anymore because she’d tell me time and time again she doesn’t like it when I was sad. I have huge trauma from the ER because I tried committing, but all I was worried about was what my mother would think. How naked it was that I was forced to tell everyone all the details of the event that I actually put my real feelings in, but I had to pretend that feeling was false and ever since then I could only play the part of a happy child, a perfect child or else the prophecy of my mothers weeping will happen.

  3. I don’t think that Furina going on stage was in any way disrespectful of her boundaries and taking away her agency. I think on the contrary, it was a good way for her to overcome her trauma. She was confined to her house, rarely leaving, and avoiding triggers, just like we, people with CPTSD do. And the more you avoid and run away – the bigger the triggers grow and the more constrained your life becomes. She refused to go on stage and no one forced her, and then when the time came, she chose to do it. And that’s when she got her vision: for being brave and coming face to face with her trauma and moving on despite it.

also, a quick side note: unfortunately, no amount of raising awareness is going to affect the mental illness "epidemic", as it is growing due to our material conditions, due to living under decaying capitalism. It’s still nice that we are slowly destigmatize mental illness, it helps people to take care of each other, but to actually change this scary dynamic we have to change our society from the core, not just talk about it 🙁

  4. Furina most important
    lol what?
She is no one. If she dies, people of fontaine may eventually die.
If Nahida dies, Irminsul dies and whole world gets destroyed.

Were you skipping sumeru story? If not dendro archon actions 500 years ago, fontaine would be already wrecked by forbidden knowledge

  5. Finally finished the archon quest yesterday. ( Trying to understand the greater Honkaiverse through all 3 games is a grindy task)

Once the "a look into Furina's mind stage play" happened, I could relate SO HARD. Feeling the need to mask in order to discipline myself . HER mask has been on for so long. You can just feel her cracking as the long years passed.

  6. the "let them eat cake" line is pop culture moreso than history. It was attributed to other royals before Marie was born, but it latched onto her and never left the public consciousness. She still embodied that attitude, but there's no confirmation that she actually said those words.

  7. Great video! Seeing how people were so quick to hate Furina was really sad. People think they've got a person all figured out and make harsh judgements way too easily. It happens to real people just as much as fictional characters.

  8. For the curious:

No, Furina did not return to acting at the end, in the character's descriptions it says that she did chose to continue working at the opera, but behind the scenes

and her vision is not like the others (a response to ambition) her vision is a gift for everything she had to endure

In fact the best written character

  9. I didn't like the boundary pushing in her character story, either. But from my own experience with the mental health issues, I saw what they were going for and related to that. People often say that you should find something you love to do and make it your job. I found that trying to make a living doing what I love made me burn out super fast and hate doing it. It put a monetary value on everything I did to the point where things I used to love became Work. Once I was able to step away, I was able to come back to the thing I loved and enjoy it again. When you hear Furina talk about acting theory and offer advice you can tell she enjoys it. But it's complicated because what she enjoyed when she performed was when she was performing as a character that was not "her." (When her large stage shrunk down to a small one – a moment, a game, a chance to "be me without being "Me") Now that she can be herself, maybe she'll find that love of performing again now that her life is no longer a stage.

  10. As an autistic teen girl, Furina, (along with Ayaka) has been the most relatable character in genshin, if not media for me. The way you pretend to be happy, pretend to follow all my with the others, masking. It’s so goddamn relatable

  11. Its crazy to think she has the mind of a human yet the will of a god. She still kept going even though it tortures her, willingly go through suffering and place the people over herself for 500 years even in her story quest. She is a selfless person, how she is such a kind and a hopeful character too. I never regret til to this day that I hated her, loved her since the leaks too frfr

  12. I wanna mention that it is canon that she is inspired by Marie Antoinette, it is stated in the recent upload of Genshin Impact! 'The behind the scenes of La Vaguelette'

  13. When we first met furina, i loved her immediately because she reminded me of fischl who is my favorite character. Fischl uses her act of grandeur to mask her loneliness, so other than finding Furina's hautiness funny to watch, I also wondered where the writers would take her story. And boy did they deliver

  14. GUYS IF IT MAKES YOU FEEL ANY BETTER ALL THE ARCHONS GOT VOICELINES ON FURINA AND THEY ALL PRAISE HER FR FR even if her people don’t appreciate what she did, at least the archons did. Ei even said furina had the will of a god!

  15. I always loved Furina. Yeah she might’ve seemed selfish and such, but for some reason I loved her, and she became my favorite character(sadly I couldn’t get her—). My old favorite character was venti if that explains anything lol. The dude that drinks to cope with his feelings, and uses poems and songs to tell his experiences and they way he perceives the world(that’s how I interpret him).

  16. I see her getting her vision during playing in the play that is obviously her own story more as a reward for making a step towards accepting her past and Trauma. And, since the visions represent ambition, it is also showing her true natural self of self-sacrificing. It gets Said (I'm not sure by whom exactly anymore) that she is just to pure and loves people to much to hate them.

  17. A thing that hit hard for me was when the knave told paimon and traveler to eat cake because they've worked so hard while leaving furina out of it, and tbh If I would've been furina i would've cried on the spot, I've been in that situation before and it's not fun. Some people forget that while others have an easier time doing things, while others don't. While people were making fun of furina after getting roasted by the knave she just sat there the same way I did when I get insulted or yelled at for being lazy or having a lack of response in certain situations.

  18. I already loved Furina in the beginning and I loved her even more in the end. Obviously I won't explain my backstory as to why but I relate to her a whole bunch, and I sympathize with her as well.

  19. Why does everyone miss the point about the acting part? Yes, I get it, her boundaries were pushed and maybe a lil stepped on, but the point was to show her that ACTING CAN BE ONLY FOR FUN and she's ALLOWED to enjoy what she loves without the trauma getting in the way of it all, making a decision for herself is great and all but sometimes you need friends to push you to help you see that something can be fun without the shitty trauma attached to it

  20. I can interpret Furina getting her Vision by helping a theatre troupe in two ways
    1. If the Vision-granting system is truly automatic, it's likely the first time since the Furina is not the Hydro Archon that she does something worthy to be acknowledged by the system
    2. If Neuv and/or Focalors can consciously control the Visions, then it's probably the first time he has an excuse to give Furina one without riling up the whole populace

  21. As gay man who live at homophobic country, i understand so much how furina feels. I act as straight man 24years of my life, i talk to my friends how some girls are cute or faking my interest to them. I cant imagine if i need to keep the act for 500 years, it would make me crazy.
