  1. Hello everyone! I hope you enjoyed the Fontaine battle theme! Remembering that Fontaine is just around the corner, I thought it would be fitting to make a fan made battle theme of the region. I have made the extended fan made theme before so now I covered the battle theme.

The overall composition was heavily influenced by Yuki Kajiura’s work in Vanitas No Carte as well as the BBC Sherlock Holmes soundtrack. I wanted to create a playful atmosphere, a circus vibe to be exact. Since Fontaine is based on 18/19th century France/England, I felt like most of the existing soundtracks created by other composers such as my influencers as stated above tend to lean more to a playful atmosphere, which is why I went with that direction.

In terms of the tonal of the theme, I decided to use mostly orchestral elements as I feel like electronic elements wouldn’t fit to the 18th century atmosphere of the city. There are some elements such as the Pizzicato Bartok that started playing around 0:34 which was meant to sound like a ticking clock or machine, to emphasise the steampunk vibe of Fontaine (I used it on my extended fan made theme of Fontaine as well). The presence of Harpsichord is no stranger to soundtracks depicting 18th century atmospheres which is why I used that specific instrument as well throughout the whole song.

I look forward on how you all will imagine Fontaine through this theme and I hope you enjoyed as much as I did making this track. Thank you once again for giving it a listen and hope you enjoyed! As always, stay safe everyone and have an absolutely great day!

  2. Baroque type of vibe aaa lovely! It's like a hybrid music similar to a medieval music at the beginning. The song is so playful yet so mischievous. ngl the lead violin melody is so good! When the beat slows down at the back, aaa like a wonderful welcoming song to a ball! Keep it up Farabi~

  3. This is incredible!! The part from 2:182:53 got me speechless.
The whole track actually brings back fond memories of a rpg maker game I played as a teenager, which makes sense because it had a strong circus theme to it, just like this track.

  4. Absolutely love it! It would be very nice indeed to have this as one of the region's battle theme. Also detected a rather subtle Fatui motif at 1:24, maybe a reference to the player probably fighting the Fatui since they are present in all 7 nations.

  5. This gives me very clockwork vibes. I get this sense of just walking through the streets of Fontaine on a foggy night with only the street lamps to light the way. I Imagine Fontaine is going to have a lot dark secrets like it's real world counterpart. Examples: the French Revolution, the French Catacombs, the history of the royal family, etc.

  6. Took me a while but woah, this definitely sounds Fontaine like! It feels like I am dancing my way through my enemies haha, once again. Bueatiful job with this! I definitely didn't expect such a vibe from this and for it to sound so close to what I would've thought Fontaine would be to the point I'd believe it if this was official. Wonderful job as always.
