Nahhh she is trash trash. Not worth the trouble and the Primos. Just wait people and don't feed Mihoyo money for a while. You will see that they will think twice the next time they release a characters like this. Just a complete Joke. And also, stop trying to hide this type of mistakes. I like the idea of her as a super tanky support that can go berserk when she ults. It fits in with her bodyguard that unleashes pain when her friends are threatened vibe. Turning damage done to her/anyone protected by her skill into a boost to her ult is also very flavorful and thematic. Kind of like a tanky, toned down pyro Raiden Shogun.
Heres what id do to fix dehya. Wile i like Sevy's ideas i think shes adding to much.
Ascension 1 passive: -Upon entering a “Fiery Sanctum” or when Dehya enters her “Blazing Lioness” state you will be granted the “Gold-Forged” state. While in the “fold-forged” state you will gain 100% interruption resistance and 50% damage reduction.
Ascension 4 passive:: -Whenever Dehya’s maximum HP reaches 20% she will instantly heal herself to 70% of her maximum HP. Afterwards she will regenerate 15% of her maximum HP every second for 10 seconds. This effect can occur every 10 seconds.
Elemental Skill: -Reduce the trigger rate for her skill from 2.5s to 1.5s -The damage reduction from “Redmane’s Blood” should be equal to 100% when at talent level 10 -Grants 2-3 energy when using the recast of her skill
Elemental Burst: -Have the energy cost reduces to 50 and its cooldown to 15s -Add 2 seconds to its base duration.
You should take a look at Veyn's video for burgeon overload. Dehya truly was designed with burgeon in mind it does not take a genius to realize that was the intent.
Also I don't think hoyo will like you dumping all their cons into a base kit they want money hence why she was made to get better with cons as it is meant to have you get her when you fail the pity.
The jump was an intended feature as responded by the hoyo support team. Just imagine being locked on the animation and wanting to get out of it.
I do agree however the added duration resistance would be nice and her C1 could be built in but the energy I don't think so.
Also I use Dehya by abusing multi reaction Layla then Kokomi and a dendro then bring Dehya and she will proc melt, burgeon and burning .
Best two hydro units to abuse Dehya while also scaling with hp are Ayato and Kokomi add in Nahida and Dehya and you end up with a long duration buff from her burst while 3 characters are getting benefit from the hydro resonance which allows for multiple burgeons and vaping to happen.
The best way to use her is abusing multi hits, I haven't tested this yet but I bet combining Dehya plus Anemo traveler's E, Nahida's E and Layla's shield does an absurd quantity of burning. Venti should be busted with her too.
They made Dehya in very good animations, perfect polishing but when hitting enemies the pains start. When I saw her animations in Live stream, I felt very hopeful. Then they just smashed with the char combat to makes people upset. I think they expected people to accept with just char appearance. They said they don't want to make people feel anxiety. OMG, when I heard Dehya name, I am having anxiety already. More like Emotional Damage.
Buff Deyha is the funniest @ ever when bow autos still haven't been fixed and auto targeting on things you set like guoba and Yae can be a little meh so yeah not happening lol
Unfortunately Dehya is not an Archon rather a STD banner character. Mihoyo should enhance older STD(e.g. Qiqi, Jean, Keching) under performing characters first before upgragrading Dehya to establish good precedence..
To be honest, i don't mind that she doesn't combo with xingqiu/yelan (many character don't for what matter) because her animation is the whole burst itself (punch until lask kick), so no NA. But at least they should have propose better combo options since her constellations push her into dps section. But tank or dmg, she's bellow everyone expectations.
At first glance, i imagined her to be the Goddess of Burning, like: – when she Burst: not dying because of her resistance/healing and increasing dmg because as a cac dps, she constantly takes dmg from burning. – we just go with pyro/dendro team like : [ Dehya, Nahida, Bennet, xiangling ] – Is it too OP? Nope because some opponnent like pyro blobs/abyss mages shield etc, have naturally pyro resistance. But even if it was too OP, let's be real. Some characters are just stupidly strong in Genshin, why not Dehya? even with her C6!
On my pov, Sumeru 5 star characters (except dendro) are really not F2P friendly, or disappointing the moment you see their kit. sad as it is already, i wish now she was a 4star….at least i could have gotten constellations to make her decent.
I remember the speculations that Dehya was a 4* character, and not 5. Afterwards she was confirmed to be 5*, but now to me it seems that those speculations were true and only did they change her into a 5* to capitalize on her popularity (a pure business decision). With that in mind, many of the problems start to make sense, like how she goes to the standard banner, her lack of damage and how many fixes are locked behind constellations (as someone pointed out, lately most 4* need their C6 to be really good). The question is, how long does it take HYV to design a character? When did they decide to change Dehya from 4* to 5*? Did they give enough time to the development team to adjust, or this is meant to be the result from the beginning?
I still uses her and experiment what will best for her. Tho, I hope her damage mitigation kit, the dmg that redirects on her can be converted as a multiplier on her burst.
What if instead of hydro pairing with Xingqiu and Yelan, if Mihoyo did a cryo counterpart that DOES work with her? It would still give her some team synergy, give freedom from Xingqiu / Yelan, and since melt has higher multipliers than vaporize, would help her damage.
Sevy, I knew this video was coming and I was waiting to hear your thoughts about Dehya, as I thought: it's hopeless. I am currently main Alhaitham but I really liked Dehya looks and personality so I was hoping to build her for my 2nd abyss team, now I need to give up on that idea. I am beyond sad Hoyoverse decided to do her this badly, and for this reason I'd like to encourage everyone to send the respective feedback to them… maybe they do listen. I feel like in the support revision section, maybe you could add a passive where the additional damage from accumulated damage could be a buff that she gives to the whole team instead of just on her skill and burst
idk i just thought that dehya became a standard banner character because it will take too many updates for her to reach her full potential. ik this does not make much sense, and i really hope that she will become better in the next update with the upcoming artifact set, like kokomi did, but idk…
Funfact: Even as a burgeon trigger not only does she procc it toi slowly but if the enemy is tall or big enough her skill will not hit the seeds as the aoe where her skill proccs on the enemy moves with the enemy size and the taller they are the higher off the ground her skill will hit and thus miss the seeds. This makes her not only a worse burgeon trigger but also a inconsistant one at that. Atleast thoma hits the ground with his burst where the seeds actually are
Her burst becoming a stand like a Pyro Itto is actually all I ask for if they will change only 1 thing. Would be a dream come true pucnhing my enemies to death with dehya even if it does not do much damage
I'm so disappointed in her kit. Dehya was easily one of the coolest characters introduced in the Sumeru content. She's tough, she has a code, and she's passionate. Plus, her design is so incredibly awesome! In a game known for great design, she stands near the top, easy. I saved up for her but she's not worth my primos if she's going to be weaker than a 4 star. These improvements would make her okay, not great, but okay. I appreciate you analyzing her kit and seeing where simple changes could make her at least usable and stand with the other Standard Banner 5 stars.
Great video, and it's really nice to see you include the one specific suggestion I had, which was to actually have the damage she takes on result in a stacking damage buff. It really feels not only good mechanically but also feels like it fits her character as a mercenary/protector/bodyguard
I’m going to be honest, I wasn’t attracted to Dehya from the start, then when I found out she was going to be a Pyro Claymore user, I was all, “I already have a C1 Diluc”, then support, already have Xiangling and Thoma, shielder, Thoma again, Noelle, and Zhongli, if I already have other characters that can fill her various roles, why try for her? That being said, I’m saving for Ayaka cuz I need a good Cryo dps
An idea I just thought of for Dehya was to make her like Kokomi where she trades crit rate so it's negative for HP, Atk or fire damage bonus and accumulates Crit Damage through taking damage and then 100% crit with her burst.
Why am I still thinking that Dehya was built for Burning build.. since you know she heals herself, she redirect dmg.. and burning alone is pretty hurt since its a rapid continuous dmg… 🤔🤔 you know like when u pair main nahida and with thoma/xiangling alone or even with HuTao no hydro.. its pretty hurt to kill your characters cause of burn got u back 🤔

I'm having fun with Dehya as of the moment, My only problem with Dehya is her elemental skill duration, nothing else. I can finish abyss using Dehya a lot easier compared to all other characters Just don't use her on a single boss/enemy, I also have Low stats on all characters. The problem with genshin players is they want Hutao (broken) damage on all characters.
The only way hoyo will notice this is either Everyone do the survey patch (Smart but copium route) or just review bomb it like 1st anniv (Reliable chaotic route)
Mihoyo will most likely do nothing at all to fix her. Look at Foxy mommy, she may not be in as bad a state as Dehya but she has some glaring issues (and this is coming from a Miko main) and the only thing Mihoyo did to correct them, actually made her worse. They quickly reversed the change and have just ignored the issues since.
Your arguments are fair and valid concerning Dehya's issues for a 5-star. The million dollar question, will CN listens to us outside CN server because that's the only game inputs/feedbacks they only accept since day 1. Surveys outside CN is irrelevant, based on personal opinion.
I would modify her burst so that if you jump or dash the burst ends on a pseudo nuke dealing damage based on the amount of hits or seconds that were "unused". Or idk anything will do at this point
usually the deeper-skinned characters get no love and are mediocre or bad, and all the Liyue (Chinese) characters get a lot of publicity, good kits, etc.? It's very suspicious in terms of racial equality, its sad. This all is ridiculous, mohoyo inst even trying
I like what that frogg lady streamer said. People shat on Kokomi and Kuki before Dendro came out. Dehya is releasing around the same time that Kokomi released in Inazuma. Mihoyo might be planning ahead rather than worrying about making every character for the meta. With all these hydro characters, I imagine burgeon and vaporize with Dehya will just look different than what we have seen previously.
Honestly, Dehya feels like an experimental unit that they were hoping could work but in the back of their minds were thinking we might have to put her on the basic banner because the community will riot. lol There are a number of new mechanics in her kit and they definitely didn't want to release another vape onfield pyro unit yet… I'm pretty sure they are holding out for Natlan on that.
She's good with Ganyu and Mona and since we are going to Fontaine…. we are getting more hydro meta I'm betting on. Most Hydro units in the game are Vape support Ayato is the only C0 hydro driver that is flexible and Targealia is a national drive (yes he's an electro driver but it's weaker). For reverse vap Xangling is the only option still, but Dehya's E being a slow applier might work for another onfield hydro Vap character.
We don’t need dehya to be OP, we just need 1 or 2 things buffed enough, preferably the defensive capabilities, like the damage absorption to 80%, but anything that guides her a place in a fight is good enough, we will use her, as well as xinyan for example, her kit is bad, but at least she has c2 phisical nuke and she is a 4 star, i dislike it but I understand it, but in a 5 star it is unforgivable
5 star characters constellations usually feel like buffs to their kits or make reasonable add ons for gameplay but Dehya constellations feels as if they took away her weapons and armour, tied he hands and locked them behind a pay wall. Dehya EVEN in the case where she gets better with future characters is a REALLY SCARY situation in Genshin history, we cannot allow this to happen again and i hope the community does not forget this and keeps pushing on Hoyoverse to make a change.
It is pretty obvious GI wants to focus the next meta in Fontaine with HP and a hydro archon, and they did made a set for her exactly as you suggested, but the damage boost will not help her when her base stata are so weak, doesn’t matter how many times you multiply a shitty attack, it will still be a shitty attack, since nilou benefits way more from the set than dehya, that shows how hilariously bad her set is or how little they care about her

She excels at destroying pity, so players have to spend that much more on Kaveh and/or Baizhu.

What if Fontaine archon buffs characters based on self healing. After all hydro is all about HP and healing
