Been doing this since Childe weapon banner, in 1.3 surway form don't forget to ask/mention a rework of the weapon banner
is mihoyo gonna listen tho ??
Weapon impact looking harsh nowadays
100% agree man, hopefully they actually look at this
i was going to roll on this for the wolf's gravestone, but i got it on the permanent banner. Seeing all the complaints on the banner lately i guess i'm gonna keep saving primogems.
A choice. Confirmed roll at 100 but you get a choice what weapon you get
60 wishes got me two wolf gravestones.
This is why I do not spend on this game outside the $5 pass. Weapon banner does not make sense, and I am not a fan of any 5 stars atm. All of my MVPs are 4 stars. I support this video though.
another idea is if you summon one of the 5 star banner weapons then the next 5 star banner weapon is guaranteed to be the other weapon.
If Mihoyo did actually listen to its player base, i would tell them to make the weapon banner for weapons ONLY.
I've gotten maybe 3 different characters on this banner alone alrdy (spent around 200$ so far) its rather annoying.
Leave the banner as is, but instead of rolling the item you get a box that allows you to choose between the 2 on the banner. If it rolls off-banner, then it's the same as it was…still a random non-banner weapon. But if you hit the banner item, you can pick. You'll probably see more people rolling to get both…than not.
I have gotten…3 pity Atlas last weapon banner before i got a sword….
I agree they should fix it
If you get the featured weapon on the banner, it should allow you to select the weapon of your choice.
In my case, I was aiming for the Wolf's Gravestone, and got lucky enough to get it.
As long as you whales will keep spending money on this you'll never get any banner changes.
They should have just made a separate weapon banner for each. Way better for everyone
We here you Demone characters should be harder to get than weapons, so going forward every character banner will have 3 5 star characters rated up…….. you're welcome.
– Sincerely Mihoyo
Kinda hard for them to fix if they're getting cash left and right
Mihoyo: Characters are supposed to be rarer than weapons? Alright, here you go. Bad luck protection moved from 90 to 180 pulls
I think it does make sense that the droprate for the staff of homa might be lower than the droprate for the gravestone. Since this staff would make Hu Tao so extremely overpowered that she would be the strongest character in the game.
I agree with this completely but to add on CAN WE PLEASE take heros off the weapon banner aswell. banners need to be for the things on the advertisement, Im sure it sounds greedy but i feel like the 4 and 5 stars on the banner itself should be the only pullable things when you get a 4 or 5 star if for any reason than summoning on this game is EXPENSIVE. dropping 100 barely gets you 40 summons if i remember correctly so why cant i atleast feel like ill be in the ballpark of what im looking for half the time.
Mihoyo are scammers. They clearly ridge the weapons banner.
this banner is rigged lol i got 5 pcs of WGS i juz want 1homa tsk tsk
ah yes! the wallet gravestone and the staff of homeless
Ohhh i understand ur problem.. nerfs cost of character pool takes it worse than weapons XD
Man who literally spent thousands of dollars summoning weapons: "Mihoyo, you need to change the weapon banner".
Mihoyo, sitting on throne of money while filing their nails and wearing a golden monocle: "Hmm? Oh, yes, interesting…"
Just raise the base probability of getting the rate up weapon. It is rate up after, besides, no one even summons in the weapon banner that much.
Everyone’s mad about this banner whole time i got r3 Homa and r2 stone in 200 pulls
It should be 50% Homa and 50% Wolf if u get Homa then after that u get Wolf guarantee and vice versa. No standard weapons, idk.
I agree with the separate banner for each weapon. Keeping the same 4 star weapons as the rates up. Perhaps with a shared mercy (pity) count so that you know what your goal is for that specific weapon. Still wish they'd just simply add a # of pulls till guaranteed 5 star (like they do in honkai) instead of just simply looking at the history which doesn't even update for about an hour after you've pulled.
This guy speaks not only for the pay to play but the free to play also they do need up the rate for weapons or give us the opinion to get it even if it take a week give us another way of getting some of the end game stuff not have to pay for everything
Honestly I'm DEFFO agree with you… I spend 500£ for just a Gravestone? Is not fair for me and for the others… I think the same like u, if is a new weapon that should be runned on the new banner or to make 2 banners or just to fkin take stuff of Homa down and we now a thing… Hey becoz of this shit banner I soon will give up on this game even I love it honesty and I'm playing since first day released… Mihoyo wtf are u doing with us?? Please Demon O follow u and seen every video regarding G.I can u send my comment in email to mihoyo and tell him to fk off if he don't solve this problem..
5star pitty: 50 summons
And no other 5 star weapons
1st 5star 50% chance being Wolfs Gravestone or Staff of Homa
Next 5star 100% chance being the other u didn't get
Example if you got the claymore the next 5star will be the spear vice versa
And you can use both normal or event wishes
That would give the f2p a chance to get those weapons since we are saving the event wishes to the characters
Well if we as a community of players of genshin should stop spending if the profits drops company will have to do something about it hit them where it hurts 😂😂
Mihoyo: Git Gud, scrub
Changes I think should happen to the weapon banner:
A: The weapon banner stays the same with 2 rate up weapons, and a chance to get standard weapons. The catch is, if you pull a non rate up weapon, you get to choose the guaranteed rate up for the next time you summon. Think of it like this, you’re pulling on the weapon banner and you get the skyward pride over the WGS or SoH; you get to pick either the WGS or SoH for your next 5 star.
B: Separate the 2 rate up weapons on 2 different banners. Mihoyo already did this in Honkai Impact, so there’s a good chance it could happen in Genshin as well
They dont care as long as they earn money.
Let me quote you Demone: "don't tell the company to improve things, they'll make it worse!".
You said this when people complained about the resin system and were flat out laughing at people on your streams. Your reasoning for this according to you was your experiences with previous gacha games (I think it was about arknights when the company made stuff even worse after you guys complained). You're a great content provider but holy cow you are hypocrite in this instance, where you're complaining when something affects you (and other content creators) significantly.
if it were me, i'd do it just like how HI3 works. guaranteed pull every x draw, period. no 50% chance and guaranteed next or yadda yadda, just guaranteed every x pull, for that weapon only, and done. Apply that to the character banner and i'd be a happier guy playing this game forward.
Why are all these people most likely F2P players complaining about “whales” being so overly opinionated about everything and spending their own hard earned money, yet you guys don’t do absolutely ANYTHINGfor Mihoyo.. I don’t get it the people spending money are the reason we are getting new patches and dlcs, not because we have free to play players this is a business at the end of the day. And if there is a CLEAR problems with the current weapon banner, why wanting a change for the banner a crime? Changing the weapon banner will benefit both f2p and p2w players in the long run. Stop blaming the “whales” they are paying customers, and they can voice their opinions and want change on certain issues.
I feel like adding the new weapon in the shop for players to purchase it with the gold star glitter for the period of time the weapon is available that way even if your getting awful pulls you can still at least get one with no problem and if u wanna r5 then you have to whale
Hidden Ratio is 1:3 homa vs grave
Seems mihoyo is becoming greedy.
I mean let be honest the weapon banners have never technically had a pity for the "new weapon", Papa Tec is the big example, he could have if anymore bad luck would have occurred continued to get WGS. That to me is not a pity. Also for me if they wanna change it in realistic terms not perfect world for f2p players, they should only allow 4 pity pulls for you to get 1 of the main banner weapon worse case scenario e.g. you pity 3 times already and you got 2 random 5* and WGS the next pity is guarantee to be Staff of Homeless. At least that is actually pity for the worse possible outcome.
the one thing that they can do is make the probability of getting the banner weapons from 50…50 and make it 75…25. homa75…gravestone25 … it's still bad but better and I feel like they can afford to make this little change
Heya, game dev here. Not for Genshin Impact specifically, but I’ve worked for other companies who use microtransactions as a primary form of income.
I have thoughts, lol.
It’s impossible to divorce a free game from its microtransaction systems, but I do believe there are ethical considerations (and an ethical baseline) all game companies should follow. Obviously, not all of them do, so let’s talk Genshin Impact.
First, let’s talk about the type of microtransactions Genshin Impact has. Currently, there are several ways to spend money in the game, but they all boil down to one thing: They give the players who buy something a slight (or large, depending) advantage over players who don’t spend money. Slight advantages are generally not that noticeable and pay out over long periods of time with the expectancy that a player is still active in the game, such as the Blessing of the Welkin Moon 30-day pack. Same for weekly bundles, etc.
Then there are the microtransactions that could potentially have a much larger impact on a player’s experience of the game, which would be the character banners and weapon banners. Investing in either of these can change the way a player plays the game, making it easier, more dynamic, a fresher experience, etc. It’s an advantage with short-term and long-term measurable effects. Compare this to games that offer aesthetic microtransactions (like skins). The only thing a player is gaining from these purchases is something that doesn’t (or very rarely) affects gameplay, and doesn’t (or very rarely) affects a player’s advantage over other players.
GI doesn’t offer aesthetic microtransactions currently, so any kind of investment will impact a player’s advantage in the game at different levels. These sorts of transactions have a bigger appeal because of the advantages they offer, and therefore encourage more people to invest in them. Ex: A new skin is released for your favorite character in Game X. You want it, but you know it won’t have any effect on how the character is played, so you feel safe knowing you can skip it if you can’t afford it. Vs.: A new weapon is released that’s catered to the playstyle of your favorite character with the added benefit of boosting/diversifying the performance of other characters you have in Game X. You want it, and know it’ll have a direct effect on the gameplay and your player experience, so you feel more obligated to spend money to acquire it with no guarantee of acquiring it ever.
GI’s weapon banner is that latter example. The weapon banner is bad, and miHoYo should feel bad.
There are no safety precautions in place to protect players who gamble on weapons, and let’s be absolutely clear here—gacha systems are gambling systems. When you roll, even if you’re F2P, you’re gambling. It’s essentially a sink that takes advantage of people who have gambling problems, or people who feel obligated to gamble as a means to support themselves (influencers and their content). It keeps them pouring money into this no-guarantee sink.
GI’s character banners have resolved this by giving players a guaranteed way to obtain a unit once they gamble a certain amount. As many people already know, the system works as such (assuming no rollovers from previous banners for this example): The first 5-star unit acquired has a 50% chance to be the on-banner unit or an off-banner unit. The second 5-star unit pulled has a 100% chance to be the on-banner unit.
While the initial 50/50 still feels bad, especially for F2P players who save up enough for a single 5-star pull and lose the gamble, the system itself has an ethical baseline that it abides by. It promises that if you continue to invest, it’ll pay off.
The weapon banner doesn’t do this, and the rates are misleading. You don’t technically have a 75% chance to get a weapon if you’re only targeting one of the two on-banner weapons—you have a <50% chance of rolling that weapon. The “guarantee” the weapon banner offers is not that you’ll get your desired 5-star weapon after a certain amount of investment, but that if you roll a 5-star off-banner weapon, the next 5-star weapon is guaranteed to be one of the two on-banner weapons (still only a 50% chance to acquire the one you’re targeting once you’ve hit the banner’s “guarantee”).
Feels bad, even for “good” banners like the current one (Wolf’s Gravestone and Staff of Homa). Both weapons are awesome, and if you’re a player who has neither, then the consolation prize doesn’t feel as bad, right? But consider that once you’ve rolled on the banner and acquired one of the two weapons, your next goal is to either get the second on-banner weapon, or try to refine the first one. Then you’re reduced to that <50% chance, and it feels bad again. The exception to this is if you need both weapons and plan to refine both weapons—the 75% chance applies to you until you’ve max refined one of the weapons and want to start targeting the other, where then you’re at that <50%, since you don’t want both anymore. Some people stop at this point if they’ve refined the weapon they were going for, but consider how long, with no guarantee, it could take to get to this point. That could easily, easily be thousands of dollars.
I reiterate: FEELS BAD. And it also feels abusive to players. This is why hard guarantees (even if they require some investment to hit) are much healthier for playerbases. They make for healthier communities and garner more support from players for the companies they’re investing in, because they don’t feel like the objects of predation.
The ideal way this could be fixed for players will not be the ideal way to fix it for a company who needs microtransactions to keep developing the game, so here are my suggestions on how to fix the banner from the point of view of someone who’s both a player (and has spent money on this game), and a game dev (who’s worked for companies that need microtransaction money to keep the devs paid and company afloat):
