TLDW: Everyone always poops on supports before they come out, and glorify dps. While in the long run supports always have more value.

Not going to lie over everyone I have Venti is my main Dps lol
now that u said supports they should reallu buff some supports like qiqi or kokomi
the thing is, she's too niche for a support. and in order for any of her current theorized team to actually deal damage, you have to build all the other 3 units in your party to actually utilize shenhe's "SUPPORTING" capabilities. and its not worth when there's better, more practical options.

People loses their mind for not getting their 5* dps.

Why players shunned supports? Its because we already have a sea of support character which are the 4 stars characters. If mihoyo keep on releasing 5 star supports then these 4 stars have no use anymore. These things are common sense. Now you know why releasing 5 star supports are not interesting,
people doesnt know what is support character does becuz support is a support it means it only supports the dps not becoming dps and saying they're sucks…its only my opinion for people who is always complaining about characters dmgs
All of my supports character are my dps at the same time. My Kazuha and Zhongli do a ridiculous amount of dmg and clear the field in seconds. I’m a support main and if Shenhe is a support, I’mma pull for her
in honkai we dont have this issue in our community, we love our support valkyries!
I love support characters.. if you build them properly they can make or break a whole team. I’m still pulling for Shenhe and Yunjin when they come out.
Its not about the damage all the fricken time. If you enjoy the game and like the characters, get them and play them. There’s nothing wrong with it

I think for Kazuha's case, players skipped him not because he's a support but because Mihoyo announced Ayaka which is one of the most anticipated characters that were available during the CBT.
Ah yes, people should try to make those big dps checks without Benny sucrose kazuha mona etc etc

Raiden is probably my favorite unit. Albedo is in a close 2nd as of late. Kokomi has kicked jean down to 4th. Supports are amazing. They allow build fantasies, something a main dps simply cannot. They have very interesting impacts on your team. Think of chongyun and his ability to increase atk spd, lower cds, cryo infusion. That’s pretty neat, so many characters can be combined with this in interesting ways. His abilities provide depth. What does Diluc do? Dmg.. Hutao? Mostly dmg with a splish of support. Eula? Booty blasting dmg. These characters from a gameplay perspective bring almost nothing. Chongyun can give you cryo infusion, atk speed, cool down reduction, and resistance down. Beidou gives you FULL COUNTER, a shield, chain lightning, dmg reduction. Jean, heals, reduction, move speed, atk speed, shred, displacement, tights, zone control. So on and so forth. These characters scale in years to come with new characters. Supports enable other characters and teams to shine.
More supports = more units to support each other in a game centered around TEAM BASED COMBAT. I think Raiden is the best made unit in her ability to provide a ridiculous amount of support and function as a sub dps. She never denies the other characters time to shine, while simultaneously is never extracting value from the team. There is no comp that does not benefit from having Raiden on it.
I pray that all the archons are these amazing game changing supports. I don’t have venti but i’ve seen his handy sucking power. I have Dongli and Hikikimori-Chan and both of them changed the game a lot for me.
Lastly i want to add im sick of the focus on pure numbers. I’d rather see a focus on more fun characters, characters with interesting kits, play fantasy enablers. That kind of stuff. IF you want big numbers we have calculators and disgaea.
Everyone shits on characters in general especially supports then wen they leave the same ppl cry and beg for a re run smh

People could build even kokomi into dps so if someone wants they can make shenhe a dps
It's not that she's support, is that she has a boring kit , and her charged attack is not special a d hasn't got anything new or special.
I actually find it really interesting that so many people hate on supports. According to collected data, only 5 out of the top 15 most used characters in the abyss are main dps' (6, if you count xiangling as a one)
In my own experience, my full supports teams (kazuha national on one half, albedo, zhongli, fischl and kokomi on the other) actually clear the abyss faster than my '1-dps-3-supports' teams (Xiao-Geo, Ayaka freeze)
Listen this is the first time in a long time that we have gotten a cryo support. All they've been releasing is cryo DPS characters and to be honest when they keep doing that I just ended up not pulling anymore because they're so easily replaceable at this point like it's ridiculous, so to finally have a breath of fresh are and finally get a cryo support for once is nice I don't want to pull for her because I really want Yae but if I do end up pulling for her I feel like it'll be worth it.
As a eula/ayaka user i'm very excited for her but I do realize her kit is very.. inflexible
Well some people crazy enough to make Babara or QiQi into main damage dealer. Just for entertainment for view.
But… If I really think about it. This basically like people back then wanting Zhongli to be a main role to be a main damage dealer instead of being a main support role.
I already have too many DPS, and not enough waifus!
i am actually in need of a support. xiangling and xingqiu need 5 star upgrade. my only concern is there is way too much cryo team. and the game lack hydro character.
Conclusion:
If it's dps, it's gonna get compared with Ganyu
If it's support, compared with Bennett
If it's crowd control, compared with Venti

People that's commenting on how they don't like shenhe haven't even played with the character seriously. I always give a character a chance. Elloy from Horizon. I enjoy how they did her. I'm waiting for other characters l haven't got. That's why l have 3 different accounts on my PlayStation 5 so you have a chance to get certain characters that you don't have.

It's always the same stick with a new character comes out they bash the hell out of them or say they're bad yet still chooses to summon them or have the nerves to when the banner over say I can't wait for the rerun or I should've summoned for them it's annoying which is why I stopped caring and went for who I want and never been more happy bout my decision
Everyone cry out for boycott when a character is not dps and meta, and when it is either dps or meta people cry for about scummy power creep. Genshin community STFU make up your mind.
