  1. I think it did live up to the hype except the archon quest and the…. questionable character kits. (Don’t get me wrong, I love Kokomi. I pulled for her. I have been following Kokomi updates ever since her first design, Mimi, was released. But yeah, I do wish her kit was better but I will make do with what I have.) I think inazuma as a whole did live up to the hype. As a consumer, I believe that Mihoyo gave they gave us a really really good product. Not perfect but Inazuma as a whole is great. The OST is beautiful especially Tsurumi island (for me personally, I love Tsurumi island), the landscaping (I love Watatsumi landscape the most), lore (loved Ruu’s story), all did very well.

  2. Thing is, while inazuma came out and same with other regions, game is gorgeous and amazing to explore, only downside for me right now is that there's no more endgame content, like spiral abyss, also the fact that some world quests wasn't even voiced even though it had decent story to it was turn off too, apart from that, i still consider everything being ok and worthwhile.

Edit: Forgot to mention about everything being time gated, events included, especially labyrinth event, wtf is that all about? 3-4days in between parts? Enough time to forget the story or what you did in those 3-4 days lol

  3. The events have been boring, they didn't even bring the gliding challenges from the adventers guild that gave 3 free chests, it feels rushed and there's not much to do via everything. It's a damn shame because I expected mihoyo after a year to design new events over poor events, It's been a slog since I've been taking the "advice" to just not play the Island so i have more content and now I feel like it's my fault that I want to play the game.

  4. Visually? It did easily. The content was either a hit or miss though. For example, the puzzles were much worse than in the previous 2 regions, but the enemies were the best ones so far. Also the 4 stars from inazuma feel much more underwhelming than before. The world quest were awesome and the archon quest as well the final part excluded. Overall I'm satisfied with inazuma but I hope sumeru to be a better region.

  5. not for me personally because i like lore and was mainly excited for the archon quest rather than the region, and we all know how that one turned out, so it was a huge letdown for me. the map is all right. i enjoyed it to an extent but i feel like it got old a bit too fast. the first 2-3 days felt magical and then it was meh and i got bored of it quickly even though i didnt speedrun it (in fact i still dont have 100% exploration anywhere in inazuma)

  6. 2.0 was good. But then 2.1 happened and everything goes downhill at Sonic The Hedgehog speed. Second part of Archon quest is really, really bad writing. Character with such a flaws which make them look like they was intentionally made bad, like why Yoimiya's Q doesn't snapshot stats and doesn't have modified ICD while everybody else do? Because Shogun was after her and they wanted to sell more Shogun so Yoimiya should be sacrificed, i don't know. Last solid 4-star was Rosaria. Questionable constellations balancing. R5 event fish claymore was powercreeped after a week by R1weapon banner only weapon.

  7. I agree with you. It wasn't bad but it wasn't as good as I wanted. I personally feel like 2.0 and 2.1 were like the tales of sides.

2.0 was amazing for me. I loved everything about it. The story was perfectly paced. I really enjoyed Ayakas story quest, it's the reason why she is one of two characters I tripled crowned. The set up to the inazuma story was amazing, the cut scenes were amazing. Exploring the Inazuma island made me fall back in love with a game that I was honestly ready to quit. 2.0 was Genshin at its absolute best for me

2.1 was a different story for me. The story felt rushed and it was a huge let down. There were certainly good parts but it just didn't live up to the set up that 2.0 set for it. Kujou Sara was so disappointing. She's not very fun to play at all and it was such a let down bc I love her design and wanted to use her. There was the Raiden controversy as well but bc the unit is good I feel like people got over her not working with Beidou. She's a complicated character so it took people time to figure her out. Kokomi is yea I don't even have to say it and you know. The Raiden and Kokomi story quest were just kind of dating story. I was really disappointed to Raidens story in 2.1 as a whole but she has fun gameplay at least to make up for it.

Then even tho it's not a apart of Inazuma you have the anni disaster. It really dampered Inazuma for a lot of people during 2.1 bc they happened on the same patch.

Was Inazuma bad. No not at all. Did I expect more after giving up filer for a full year. Yes I did

  8. I say Inazuma did meet our expectations. I don't care what they say about the units' kit I just glad they exist, the side quest and world quest was good to great and the islands were fun to explore…..then there was the Archon Quest…sticking out like an ugly thumb. (also puzzles, I hate half the puzzles in Inazuma)

  9. I feel like ei's story quest was way more fan-service. i wish the people would've held her more responsible for the actions. I wish her story quest showed her starting to try to heal her relationship with her people. It felt like mihoyo just stopped making her a complex character..

Also in photo mode you should be able to trigger idle animations because i have spent an awful long time to perfectly time photos with friends.

  10. For me it was a success! I would say it lived up to the hype because I was only expecting it to be as good as what we were getting already. So it was just as good as the first two regions as far as enjoyment.

Although the story was good it did not live up to the expectations of some people and I understand that's because it was cut short (easy to see that the Dev's had to "time crunch" and move on before they could explore more of the paths they were working on with the rebels). Hopefully they will find time to revisit and flesh out the story in the future (similar to how they are revisiting the first two regions every so often through events. We are even going back to Albedo's story in Dragonspine for 2.3).

So overall it was good. I am now looking forward to Sumaru and all that it will bring to the game next year. In the meantime I will be playing other games as they release that I am interested in to fill the gaps. Genshin is not a full time game, it never has been and that is fine. It does what it does very well, and I appreciate that.

  11. In the end, the game is much improved for having Inazuma. The characters are a great addition to the cast (looks away from Sara). And it was nice to get that experience of exploration, mystery and surprise we haven’t had since we explored Dragonspine for the first time. And it’s a gorgeous, unique local. It met my expectations.

Now throw out those annoying ass specters back into the abyss and I’ll call it perfect.

  12. my list on each topic

Scenery: yes, it's a nice place
Story quality: it honestly felt very rushed, a lot of plot holes and unused characters, and cliffhangers
Enemies: all the enemies are nice besides those goddamn rift hounds

now I'll talk about the islands

Starter island (i forgot name lol): is very chill and gave us the introduction to the new mechanics/puzzles and enemies, very nice
Yashiori: it dont like it due to being a low end PC gamer, it was hard dealing with the constant rain
Tsurumni: pure pain to explore with corrosion, even though I'm good at dodging
Sangonomiya: could use more world quests, wasn't very appealing
Searei (the electronid place): i only go there to fight the Manifestation and do Neko Is A Cat world quest chain, besides that i cant say as i only used the interactive map to find the largest chests

And on to the characters (NPC's like Teppei included)

Thoma: a pyro Xinqiu IMO, he is ok, but lacks the power of the S tier supports (insert tier list with bennet at the top)
Ayaka: she is quite cute, but lacks much importance later into the archon chapter
Yoimiya: same fate as Ayaka, only a small appearance in the story with her own side mission
Kojou Sara: im in a gray area with her, see seams like a character stuck between being hard on everyone, and being nice, similar to Xiao
Kokomi: l e f i s h e she is a person struggling to stay awake, and is better at talking than strategy
Teppei: he is stuck in a daze to beat traveler, undermining his health and eventually die although he was memed, his part of the story was lacking and full of plot holes
Sayu: is neglected getting like 30 mins in the story, then presumably went to take a nap the entire time
Raiden/Ei Egg is quite the funny character, trapped by her nearsightedness, and doesn't want to change

Thanks for reading my mini Essay, overall Inazuma is ok, but isn't like Liyue and Mondstadt 7/10

  13. Imo Inazuma was really fun, the lore, the first part if the story until we Kokomi showed up in the battle of the Resistance vs Sara's troops, the music ahhhh the music!!! It's so good, the atmosphere and Inazuma's looks are just beautiful to me.

I can't wait for Enkonomiya, Chasm, and Sumeru!!!!

The only thing I'm bumped about in Inazuma is that we can't fight Ei anymore. Her fight was amazing!! And I wish I could've fought her again without restarting Gebshin.

I'm still waiting on permanent content though, I will wait to see what happens with the dungeon event we just had.

  14. Now to the 2nd part of the archon quest (Last one we got- the 3rd one)

Part 2 of the archon quest was really bad, the resistance besides Kazuha were pretty useless

Kokomi was said to be a super good strategic leader yet turn out to be the worst one.

Get's goods they need from a unverified sender

Doesn't check who the sender is

Knows the sender wants the war to keep going instead of ending

Still gets goods ignores red flags and trust this source

Literally everyone facepalmed when they saw that…

1st half was useless and the other half was rushed…

Edit: btw I will fight with you about it Inazuma's design is better than Liyue IMO!!! lol.

  15. Did Inazuma live up to the hype?

    Esthetic-wise: Yes, love it.

    Exploration-wise: Yes, love it too.

Lore-wise: …Not really…the side stories, I actually like especially the Tsurumi Island…The main quest, I kinda just justify it now with "Maybe it's really just because of CCP…since if I look at the general plot of Inazuma, I can see how this plot can potentially get MHY in trouble with the CCP if the story drag on longer and give resistance force more screen time, since it's mainly about authoritarian leader of a nation literally robbing people of their inspiration and dream, and we as the protagonist has to side with the rebellion group to fight against her" (tho the other side of me is also like "Meh, they just want to sell Raiden. They can't sell Raiden if she's still viewed as main antagonist of the arc like this…Sure, Childe was also antagonist, but he didn't really come out as that till almost climax, so…")…AKA, yeah, it's terrible that I actually have to find something to try to make sense of it…and also got me worried to since I don't think Sumeru is coming anytime soon, so ending Inazuma so quickly only means we're going to have bunch of fillers from now on…again…

Character-wise: Kinda depends…Personally for me…Kazuha >>>>>>>>>>> Yoimiya >> Ayaka/Raiden/Kokomi are how I feel about the current 5* Inazuma characters. Kazuha is now tie to become my favorite character to play in this game with Childe. His story is kinda meh (blaming that on the 2.1 story rush), but he's just so fun to play. He's one of the two characters in the whole game who I never have the "…Why did I C6 for this guy again?" moment at all (another one being Zhongli)…barring maybe the very few time I actually use him with C6 Bennett. Yoimiya surprisingly is my go-to pyro/boss killer, and I'm saying this with Hu Tao C6 on my bench. Yoimiya is a lot easier and fun to play than Hu Tao for me, and her lack of AOE doesn't really bother me as much…Sure, she does have her flaws and I do recognize those, but will still say I just like playing with her. I put Ayaka, Raiden and Kokomi at the same level mainly just because Ayaka and Raiden I like them, but when I play them, there are times that I really like them and times that I just absolutely don't even want to touch them. Raiden's confusing stat distribution also kinda made me don't want to attempt to fully build her either…Kokomi I'm actually more OK about how she plays (still don't like the non-existent resistance to interruption though), but can't exactly judge on her damage potential yet since I didn't farm ATF for her (I literally have 2 tena 2 petra on her because I just gave her my Zhongli's old HP set…lol ), waiting to farm in the new domain next patch instead. Itto…I get the feeling might be around Yoimiya or above her for me, but can't be sure until he's out…As for 4*, Sayu I didn't build her so no comment on her. Her spinning thing is kinda fun though. Thoma, I'm Ok with for now. Gorou I'm totally waiting for him.

    Again…just personally opinion though…

  16. Certainly worth the hype, except the story from the last half. It ended kinda too quickly, feel like there's lot bit cut out by MHY. Like for some reason Kazuha, Gorou and the army right at Raiden's Castle with no explanation of how they managed get here.

Kokomi Lol 😆😂 seriously there isn't alot of screen time about her, she still went in the dark in the end.

  17. Just gotta say I agree 100% with the lack of poses and emotes in the camera mode.

Personally I wasn’t really on the whole hype train for Inazuma so my expectations were pretty neutral but I thought in terms of world building Inazuma killed it. The archon quest could’ve been executed better but the main plot points were interesting and the direction the main story is now headed is also starting to get interesting. I really dig the new enemies (except the specters) and they’re definitely a lot more interesting than the basic treasure hoarder and hilichurl mobs. The music as always is phenomenal and the characters are very interestingly written. However, the timegating was awful (especially the conch treasure chests bs) with almost all instances especially the world quests reliant on the random daily commissions. I wish they did add some endgame or replayable content (or stop making all of them temporary events only) but still, overall I really liked Inazuma.

  18. To be honest, Inazuma was the most immersive for me for whatever reason, which I really enjoy. It felt a lot more fantasy while being gorgeous which made it more of a pleasure to explore. And though I feel like there was room for improvement, I still enjoyed the story. It also made me realize how much I wish there were better options for co-op because that was when my friend was able to catch up to my AR and just exploring with them was fun with the little that was available for us to do. I’m on my own for the most part, but those times where I happen to have a friend I can play with, everything is just significantly more fun to me, but it sucks how there’s just not much to do. And what you can do just ends so quickly. I really wish there was something like a co-op spiral abyss and just more combat and exploration based stuff to do with friends in general.

  19. At first yes, the story was great and getting to finally explore a new region was amazing but then it went down the usual route of telling us what happened instead of showing us & the usual 'the traveller is here so everything is magically okay because they are super special and can fix any problem in the universe' trope along with wrapping the story up in 2 parts so everything just felt rushed and kinda half-done. Yes, visually Inazuma is amazing and it has some of the best OSTs in the game as well as some heart-breaking lore but they really could've dragged the archon story out a bit more. They knew that Inazuma is the smallest region and therefore the easiest to explore so they time gated the islands but rushed the story which makes no sense. Oh well, let's hope they won't do the same with Sumeru.

  20. For me it was very disappointing. Beautiful yes. But gated by many hours of mandatory quests before you can clear the mess and explore each island, too much time gating, and absurdly bad rewards on Tsurumi to the point I'll skip that place on most my accounts. Also no stamina for Electroculus? 60 primos for 20 of the thing? Come on this is bad even as a joke.
Events also ruined it for most players because we were forced to go to everywhere and unlock everything before even starting to explore. My friend already hates the place since we had to spend 3 days on quests already before playing for fun and that's with me doing half of them for him. (Game doesn't run on his computer, he can only play on mine)

  21. I was never in the hype train so I was never disappointed or anything. Inazuma was jarring to me personally during it’s release, I am the kind of person that needs to familiarize myself first and that took a month.

Anyways, I didn’t really care so much for Inazuma especially 2.0-2.1, i loved the story but that was it, didn’t care for the characters that was released inthose versions, skipped, and now finally I can be excited again in 2.3 for Itto and Gorou. So to answer the question: i didn’t get in the hype train hence I wasn’t disappointed, I liked Inazuma story-wise even though it was almost always sad and bittersweet. Overall, it was a fresh experience, and I can’t wait to be culture-shocked again in Sumeru.

  22. Inazuma was amazing part 1 of the Archon quest was the best in my opinion since it’s actually memorable and if someone asked me about it I could give a run down but the 2nd/3rd one is something I’m hoping to not remember worst quest I really can’t forgive myself for spending and hour or 2 doing that part just to have no feelings other than “when will this be over I want my primos”. The Characters where fanstatic I absolutely love them all even those I ignored minus Yoimiya I seriously wish her ULT wasn’t a buffer for other characters that’s something I’m strictly not liking at times and the Fact Raiden Shogun won’t work well with Beidou that’s also a little issue since I main Beidou and if she can’t work well with Raiden Shogun then I have to create a completely new team for her and Raiden. The landscape and islands are beautiful I love them so much and the bosses and mini ones are also great minus those devil dogs those things give me nightmares .But the land is gorgeous I loved it but the fact that to unlock domains or unlock something on the island I would have to go into quests which where extremely unnecessary like to remove water I had to suffer through a quest and to get a stupid catalyst I needed a quest but side note the quest made me cry at the end. But the area sure does get boring easily I had switched from Inazuma commissions to Liyue after a month now I only go into Inazuma to level up the tree and reputation level and complete quests.

  23. Aside from Act 2 (it was too short considering we got the story through 3 patches), I thought it did live up to the hype but only just did so up until we were shown Tsurumi, that's where it began to exceed expectations for me.

I think we still have some things to discover though that will flesh out Inazuma. For one, Dain has to show up and for another, We should be able to get into the ruins of Enkanomiya. I also expect a Yae Miko quest and another story extension that may or may not explain why the Electro Archon fucked up 2 islands almost beyond repair.

Once we start getting stuff like that, I'll start begging for the Chasm again.

  24. Inazuma was awesome when it started but I still hate 90% of the stories. They’re way too long and boring IMO.
I didn’t mind the time locked locations because there were so many things to do and discover.

  25. Watatsumi and the resistance was somewhat rushed, but I still overall enjoyed it just because of how amazing and hype some of the cutscenes were. I also feel Ei's story was developed pretty well, with the only shortcoming being that we didn't see more of her backstory and lore in her story quest. I do believe that there'll be a second part tho.

  26. I don't know if anything can live up to a year's worth of hype. But yes, my thoughts are very similar to yours, on the fence. Half yes and half no. On the one hand, I didn't expect Inazuma to change anything radical about the end game content (or lack thereof). On the other hand, as you say, the fact that we're now 14 months into the game and there's still no meaningful end game content is… depressing. I can't discount how much I loved exploring Inazuma as a region, and how much I absolutely loved the initial 2.0 update and the slow, creeping nature of the complex story in it (as well as the Tsurumi Island story in 2.2), but I also can't discount how much I absolutely hated the 2.1 update's conclusion to that story. As far as characters go, we got great units like Kazuha, Ayaka and Raiden, and then on the flip side we also got huge disappointments like Yoimiya, Kokomi, Sayu, Sara and Thoma– units I was genuinely really excited to roll for and then ended up not being able to justify it when they released because of their lacklustre kits. I dunno, the whole thing is such a mixed bag. High highs and low lows.

  27. One thing for sure is they definitely beefed up scale of puzzle and underground exploration in comparison of previous regions especially Dragonspine. Damn I love the progression on how access to Thunder Manifestation is unlocked by solving puzzles throughout the whole Seirei island bits by bits. Also the Amakumo peak underground puzzle which sadly never explore again after opened all chests.

  28. Didn't live up to the hype, but not s failure. Wasn't happy with so little hidden chests scattered and hidden around the world. I hate how obvious chests are and there's no need for the inuzuma craftable chest finder.

  29. Watatsumi Island actually did have it's own questline. It was the one where you had to activate the 4 shrines and acted as a sort of prelude to Enkanomiya, which is rumored to be an area that will be released in a future patch.

  30. Inazuma is a great region. My only gripe is the seemingly rushed Archon Quest. They could've dedicated their efforts in making these filler events in elaborating the story. But instead we're planting flowers. I mean it's ok but if you're gonna ask me if I prefer flowers over story, I'd pick the latter.

Though maybe the developers are lacking man-power to do so. We'll never know.
