How Time Travel/Timeline works in Genshin:
In Inazuma where are introduced with the idea of time travel, by using istaroths power, makoto was able to travel to the past
However, this time travel is not actually time travel, but rather
creating an entirely new timeline, and going to a specific time of that timeline.
let me just call this new timeline, timeline 2.
What istaroth did was, Go to a specific time in timeline 2, make changes to the timeline, then completely chop off timeline 2, and replace it with the original timeline.
This is why Ei, who is part of the original timeline, remembers that the sacred sakura never existed before Makoto left
But in timeline 2, Makoto made future Ei plant the sacred sakura in the past,
so people of timeline 2, always thought the sacred sakura existed. Everyone besides Ei thinks that the sacred sakura was always there.
Ei who is from the original timeline, was outside of the timeline for a period of time when she went to khaenriah to look for her sister
And when Makoto and istaroth connect timeline 2 (in which she planted the sacred sakura) back with the original timeline. (without the sacred sakura）
Ei experienced some glitch in the matrix
She was like: ayo wtf, this tree wasn't here before, the fuck is going on
And Everyone else was like:r what are you smoking, the tree always been here
Because EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING is from timeline 2 that istaroth created
And weaved into timeline 1, Ei is from the original timeline and was outside of the timeline when the replacement occurred
Hence why she has memories of the original timeline, where the sacred sakura never existed.
And in timeline 2, a seed was planted in the past, so sacred sakura has always been there.
that doesn't explain why traveler's sibling sides with the abyss… or is it? someone explain to me pls my head hurt.
I believe the reason of our journey is to find out the "cruelty" of this world or the true colors of this world as Aether(I picked lumine) said something like "Once you reach the end of your journey like I did you will see for your self the true nature of this world"
I have once made a theory just like this in my twitter, just pure speculation and evidence between the abyss sibling line
But according to what i have seen those dark monsters have already spread through out Teyvat, well i don't see any difference between the first timeline and 2nd timeline. Well your first guess might be correct there might me 2 timelines….

When they entered the world sustainer was like
“hm these look like good specimens, since weve messed of real bad lets have them save our world lets usr the first one and reserve the other pne by bringing them to the future incase the first one messes up the script”
*Abyss twin strays away from the script and teams with the abyss last minute and after the take two of the cataclysm he leads them to make them stronger so they would defeat celestia and avoid experiencing the take 3 of the cataclysm *
Sustainer: sighs twin number two its your turn now we’ll send someone thats from here to make sure you really follow the script unlike your sibling.

What if Dainsleif is Aether timeline 1? I just wondered since he said "defeat me, command me to step aside, show me that you are 'worthier than I' to rescue her.
IMHO: Only Raiden noticed the Sakura, because it was Raiden who planted it in the future for the sake of people of the past. Before Raiden plants it, there is no Sakura and no memories of it, but as soon as Raiden plants is, there is one and there are memories. And since past Raiden didn't plant it, only past Raiden noticed it, because it's not for her, but for her people. Thus, no timeline contradiction, no "timeline brief escape".

how about the forbidden book mentioned by the pyro abyss herald chad? there, as i remember from the convo, it's something like that the celestia or gods were not originaly from teyvat. also the reason why the serpent god in inazuma was slain by ei. yes, the serpent killed ei's buddy, but what if the reason that ei's buddy fought that serpent because he was tricked by the celestia to kill that serpent for reading that book. what if tsaritsa has that book now? the reason she's collecting gnosis because of the knowledge from that book.

I'm actually glad and forever have regrets (not that I regretted it anyway) that I chose Lumine as my Traveler, because now I get to see all of the "Traveler" timeline in Lumine's prospective compared to the "Abyss" timeline.
Is that why we got that theater thing that told use all the things we’ve done.(because of the “script”)?
The first thing I think of when I see this is: Hey, what if they added a mode where traveller could access the apocalyptic world (essentially endless mode)
This is the right one I can feel it
