Checking in on Genshin Impact

More than a year ago, I talked about some long-term problems Genshin Impact might face. Now that I’ve recently gotten back into the game, let’s check out how Genshin has changed and if these problems have been fixed.

  1. im just a 3month+ old player at AR56 (work from home so got a lot of time), and i dont see any issue bout the hard enemies (well except for abyss cause ive only farmed for artifacts for bout a month) but in the overworld i got no prob and im f2p, im able to beat the weakly bosses solo with my f2p team…so how is the enemies hard?

  2. i think my (and a lot of other later game players) issue with timed events is the fucking weapons.

i love albedo, i want to make him the most viable asset i possibly can. but i can’t do that, because his signature and best weapon was from a timed event. i can’t get cinnabar spindle, no matter what i do, because i can’t turn back time (i joined genshin in around 3.2, i believe). i wish hyv would make a shop where you can purchase these weapons and their refinements. because albedo’s next best in slot is i think harbinger of dawn, which is such a huge downgrade from his signature.

    it triggers me so much.

  3. I think a better solution to the world level problem is to base minimum level of new characters on ar level.

The problem with removing it entirely is there’s no reason not to do all dailies in mondstat fighting lvl 4 enemies.

  4. Yeah, genshin burnout you pretty much if you tried to optimize your time playing it. And thanks for sharing your opinion as a casual player, we didn't get many of it since tge community are filled with hardcore/veteran.

  5. I love genshin, but a lot of what you said is still valid. My biggest issue is the resin system and artifacts. If you want to optimize teams, it will take weeks for one character alone. And for long-time players like myself that makes building all your characters very time consuming.

  6. Why I'm having fun in Genshin? I'm playing on AR 35 untill it's required by Archon quests require 40, and with lvl 70 characters that 3-shot enemies, that way I don't care about difficulty, I can enjoy the story, scenery and world buiding without burning out

But yeah f you hoyo for making most interesting characters a 5* that requires weeks of grinding primos to get

  7. I haven’t heard someone say that the game was hard for a long.

If you grind artifacts the game gets ridiculously easy. Things die, literally with two hits in the Overworks, with good artifacts and good teams.

  8. I'm not sure what you mean by enemies getting harder, because even in Fontaine, the enemies aren't really getting harder. Spiral Abyss has always been Genshin's hardest content, and while that is constantly getting more inflated HP each cycle, even the early Abyss cycles are considerably harder than what Fontaine has to offer currently (besides the Local Legends, of course)

HoYo has taken major steps in insuring newer players won't feel the difficulty. There's no brick wall of a difficulty spike that block story progression unlike in the Souls series or something. That's also the reason why underwater combat doesn't care about your Artifacts/Builds because they want new players to be on an equal playing field. Underwater content is 50% of Fontaine as HoYo mentioned, there's no reason for them to cater to newer players if what you say is true that the Story/Area progression is linear, which it's not. Finally, new players can immediately teleport to Fontaine after completing Mondstadt's Archon Quest, so they really don't want the latest game content to require optimised gear and teams.

  9. Yes, that times event, have worth 2 hours dialog (not kidding) with whole going point here to point there only to have another extension conversation, just make it that long, if anyone notice. It's really bad that I even missed 5 event now, it's bad for people that have other thing to do

  10. Spitting facts about sumeru
LOOOOVED the sumeru story quests, they were the best ones at that point
    Loved the aranara
But I did not do any exploration or much world quests (I didn't even do Jeht's second quest)… Just played 1h a day and that's it for a long time
Fontaine is so much more enjoyable to explore im having a blast

  11. I almost quit Genshin between 3.1 and 3.3

Didn't like most of Sumeru events
Sumeru Archon quest on English text is awful between act3 and 4

However I do like Sumeru desert and music

  12. You burnt yourself didn't you! Well that's not entirely your wrong doing but still a part is…
Anyways, atleast you got more views than you generally do on other videos.
Some problems are genuinely there but most of them are alright for me, like assention, characters & leveling, artifats & progression, sumeru, etc!
Some are stingy like timed events etc but surly i knowwhat game gener i am playing… so yeah, its a good (not too sugary but) rolling journey!

  13. I think the only thing I don't really get is the difficulty thing at the end.
I mean, I personally grind very little (I have an ungodly amount of resin just sitting in my inventory which I can't be bothered to actually use), I also very rarely actually do spiral abyss and stuff.
Yet, when it comes to the enemies, you say you can't cc, I have no problems with them at all on the highest world level. In fact I would really like them to be stronger, as they just die like nothing…
Either my team is much stronger than I thought for exploration (I can easily cc all of those enemies with Klee and Kazuha, for example.) or yours just doesn't work very well. Maybe it works for me as I try to upgrade my existing working team more, while building completely new teams is more of a side project. When in doubt, my main team kills everything on the overworld and that one just keeps getting better.

  14. My favorite thing about genshin is that after three years, haters are still whining about the same 3 problems with it as if we didn't hear them the 382nd time.

But the community literally doesn't give a fk anyway because they're too busy having fun with the game. Like sorry the only game you play is league and youre complaining about a game you dont even play, but we just dont care. xD

  15. Ehhh I don't entirely agree on improvement for the lore in limited time events.

While 3.X/Sumeru generally did better on this, they did kinda do a whole important lore dump on the Hexenzirkel in an event back in 3.5.
And based on the Fontaine AQ, they're only going to become more prevalent in the story. I felt that everyone who skipped that event/forgot about that one scene way back in 3.3 with Scara's quest would feel somewhat confused.

  16. 😋😆Am not CHAINED BOND BY THE F🤣CKING META, my characters aren’t built they just have random artifacts on them. Most of my characters are between level 70 & 60 some are under level cuz I haven’t had the time to get the material they need to level them up. But I do explore around with any characters just to have a good time playing & exploring with them.😏😎

  17. i 100% agree, ive been a keqing main since i got her two years ago and only recently swapped to furina, my highest damage is 108k and it wasnt even keqing it was XIAO. i swapped to meta sometime around 3.8 and instead of using my go to team of keqing, klee, venti & zhongli i used keqing, kirara, kuki shinobu & venti, which i was smart about and chose them because i actually liked the characters.

i have collei, i have dendro traveller, i have yaoyao, most of these would be a better option than kirara. do i care? no, because i like kirara! im no longer a keqing main after getting furina, and even she's managed to do as much as my triple crowned keqing w/ mistplitter barely built (im pretty sure furinas highest was 76k, and keqings with aggravate was about 50-60..)

anyway sorry for my long drawn out essay, its just that i've loved to go against meta for years now (that 108k i did with xiao? it was anemo even though i run a physical build, no clue how he managed that) but ever since around 2.7, the meta has slowly been being pushed more and more onto players if they actually want to get anywhere in the game.

  18. The only thing I’d complain about is the Spiral Abyss. It has so much potential to be even better and have similar contents like in Hi3 & HSR. Unfortunately highly doubt any changes will happen as we’re already half way through the game

  19. The difficulty part is very very volatile. The difficulty spiking up, is actually just an account management check. I'm a f2p player, and ever since 1.0 I have been talking alot of care on my resources and being as effective as possible. I never had any issues with difficulty other than 2 specific abyss cycles. I'd say that the game is too easy in fact, if you struggle, you just managed your resouces wrong and you used weak characters that can't carry your horrible artifacts and account management choices. Sure you could say this is the game's fault in which is true, some 4 stars are abysmal bad (looking at you, Aloy), but even then you could just have studied the game mechanics more. It is your fault too in the end of the day. Just play smart with your account and you'll be fine! Imo the game got even easier cuz dendro can carry you very easily.
Try out Sucrose/Charlotte, Xingqiu, Kuki, DMC. You can stomp so much stuff with that team.

  20. Wasted time. Game's the same of 1.3 and always will be.
Aand, we quit for the same reason. Also because I know for sure mihoyo doesn't care about player welfare so we will never get any actual improvement or qol, honestly speaking all your "improved" of the video are massive copes. Nothing is improved of those things.
Neither it worsened. It just stayed the same, bc that's how mihoyo works, keep the status quo and keep printing money from addicts.

  21. Artifact grinding RNG hell in genshin definitely had an impact on me when i played star rail and saw it using the same system. I think so far i only have about 5-6 five star characters because i dreaded the artifact grind so much it actually deterred me from pulling many new characters

  22. I think it really is a personal issue. I mean, the game has problems, but all things do. If you play it only how you like it, how much you like, don't have FOMO etc, Genshin, like any other game, is pure fun. Yeah, maybe you won't have the event stuff, or the special character, but do you reaaaly have to? The game itself will still be playable anyway without the gacha etc. Ofc if you don't like missing out on stuff, maybe it's not something for you. And ofc it's ok to want the game you like to be better, but it's not a given that it will ever become what you want.

  23. Yea genshin just became a big chore the higher level ive got. I hate fishing i hate artifacts i hate skill grinds. Its just too many busywork type of activities and quests and all the regions have the same mechanics for puzzles. Swimming brought some variety but its the same boring lazy ass writing and over explaning over analysing shitty stories. Hydro archon was pretty much electro archon reskinned in the story aspect. Which is a shame! Genshin had a few good questlines but mostly is uninteresting amd "safe" nothing really happens nobody kicks the bucket theres no real conflict between the nations. The puzzles are way to easy. I would welcome actual puzzles that make you think and try harder. But genshin doesnt want that. Its an easy one night stand that somehow managed to stick around for 3 years.
