I was trying to get Thoma while not using up my 100% pity on Hu Tao (love her character, but I suck at her combat style); I got Hu Tao on the second wish and didn't get Thoma at all… RIP 😂
Can you do a build for beginners? I'm ran 29 so it a bit hard to build him
his damage sucks :/ Its an objective fact. Its so much better to build him as a hp shield guy. Only really invest in him if you really need a shield in a team, such as for hua to. otherwise diona is objectively better.

For a good shield supporter 2 millelith 2 emblem works well also with favonius lance/any energy recharge stat weapon, energy recharge sand, hp% goblet, & hp% circlet. I just cleared the abyss with him in my Hu Tao team

Damm, got Hu Tao in 10 pulls (had some pity saved) and decided to go full ham on the weapon banner. Now I have an R2 Elegy and no Thoma. Dumped 120 whishes I had saved on the weapon banner, now I have to go for the Staff of Homeless…. hopefully I'll be able to snatch it before the banner goes away

I could be wrong but isnt his pairing with hu tao specifically so that he can swirl pyro (while also providing a shield) with an anemo character so that hu tao can do more damage when she switches in?

Engulfing lightning is stuck on raiden and the catch is stuck on xiangling which leaves the favonius lance for thoma, works well so far and depending on substats I might go for 2 noblesse and 2 millelith. Damage is definitely not thoma's job though, neither is reactions aside from viridescent priming…but when dendro comes out he might work nicely with a triple dendro team considering how nasty the Burning reaction is.
