2.0 looks like it has a story I can fully get behind. Add to that the awesome Japanese aesthetic and new lands to explore and I’m going to have a lot of fun with this content. Ayaka, Yoimiya, and all the other characters are looking good too

My theory
Raiden is known as the god of eternity. She wants to remain in power, probably even more now after hearing Rex Lapis's death who was one of the original 7 archons,
Vision holders are capable of accending to godhood (thanks to venti explaining to us) and therefore could replace her like she did to the previous electro archon. so shes hunting after vision users to prevent any chance of it happening.

If you slow down the video near the end right after Raiden pulls out her sword, you'll see that the flashes are part of a cutscene. Traveller lunges between Raiden and a pyro vision right before she's gonna use the musu no hitotachi and traveller most likely takes the blow
