  18. Childe looked into Lumine's eyes. Lumine's heart beat was loud and fast. She was stunned to say anything back. Paimon was about to call for them, until she was grabbed and was kidnapped. Lumine seeing this, ran after the one who kidnapped her friend. "HEY! HEY GIVE ME, BACK, MY EMERGENCY FOOD!" Lumine threw her sword. The preparator stops, looks around and tried to run, Lumine chased after the hooded and masked man. "He-Hey let me out!" Lumine hears Paimon's voice. "PAIMON!!" Lumine knew the geography. They were heading to a cliff.

    They all arrive to the cliff, with Childe following right behind. "Give my friend back. She's not yours." the preparator hangs the bag over the edge. Lumine ran to grab it as they threw it off the cliff. Lumine jumps to grab the bag, she immediately begins to fall. "Paimon!?" the movement of the bag. Lumine sighs with relief. She tries to take her glider out, then realized it was getting repaired. "I'm sorry Paimon… I messed up…" Lumine falls into the sea below her, hitting her head in the progress. Childe has already caught the kidnapper, tied them into a tree upside down. He waited for a moment.

    "Isn't sh-" Child ran towards the edge, the small dot of red. "LUMINE!!!" Childe steadily made his way down. He got into the water began to swim, dive to look for Lumine and Paimon. Child traced the small thread of blood, he finally found her. Childe took her and the bag up the shore. She wasn't breathing. Childe began doing CPR on her, Paimon finally breaks away from the bag. 'Please don't take her away. This isn't the punishment I wanted… PLEASE, DON'T TAKE HER AWAY FROM ME!'

    Lumine coughs out water, her vision and the loss of blood made her fall in a state of confusion. "Is… Paimon safe?" Childe grabs her hand. "Yeah, she's fine." Lumine smiles before passing out again. Childe carefully lifted her up, supporting her neck. He grabs Paimon. "Hold on tight small one." Childe flies away, he didn't care about the foul legacy eating him away. All he cared was his princess to be safe. Childe arrived to Monstadt. He wasn't really welcomed, but the screams of HELP blew everyone's and the aura of hate away. Jean was on her break, sees a heavily injured Lumine. "Sorry Diluc, I'll need to cut this date short!" Jean runs up to them. Directs them to the cathedral.

    They open the heavy doors, the drops of blood hit the floor. 'Oh, it's Childe-' Viktor was about to say his greetings, but decided not too, from the look off distraught of Childe. Lumine injured, although they didn't talk much, Viktor was shocked. They disappear in another door where Barbara was waiting. No one left that room for hours, the only person left after that was the people who was getting treated by Barbara earlier.

    Night falls, the skies were cloudy. The moon didn't peak from within the clouds, there were no signs of rain. It was ominous.

    Lumine wakes up, turns to see Childe, under his eyes were red. Lumine strokes his hair. "I suppose you saved me again." Then the brief moment, she thought she felt his existence was wavering, just like with Master Diluc's hands. Lumine looks at the vision that belong to Childe. He wakes up, sees Lumine awake. "Good morning, Ajax" Childe began to cry. "H-Hey… Childe?" He hold her hand tightly. "I'm sorry I made you worry again." They talk for a while. "Hey, Childe. Stop using the foul legacy, I don't want you to be gone. I'd rather stop the journey if you keep doing this." Childe looks at Lumine, he stopped peeling the fruits. "What about your brother?" Lumine looks up into the ceiling. "I will find him, as long you promise you stop using it. Or I'll leave you behind."

    Childe gets into the bed next to her. "Why are you casually getting in bed." Childe smiles. "Well, I'm tired." The smile made Lumine blush, she covered her face. "Do whatever you want then" Childe hugs Lumine, kisses her on the neck. "I shall do that then, I suppose." Lumine blushes harder. "Idiot."
