REMINDER: This vid isn’t hard proof of what is best for Xiao, these are just considerations we can make based off of assumptions. You should choose your final build after whales test everything. I would get your spear ready, but potentially have it at LVL 1 and take it to LVL 90 after you see gameplay of it working.
MISTAKE:
One of the commenters brought to my attention that I made a mistake with the crescent pike math. Basically it always makes a second hit / number appear when the weapon ability is in effect. This might turn out to be larger then simply a 40% attack buff, but I haven’t check it with the math. I think the normal chain sequence attack could give slightly higher numbers but it doesn’t change my conclusion that the crescent pike it better for normal attacks and the blackcliff is better for the Ult.
Also the way I added the Xiao buff to both weapons might have been incorrect, but it affect both weapons the same way so it would change which one is higher.

Just a little video on why i think the Blackcliff is very viable for Xiao. I didn’t consider energy recharge weapons, but i think if you really need, you can use an energy recharge artifact, and with the blackcliff you’ll have enough Crit Dmg substats to still do good damage.
Hopefully it gives some decent insight into the numbers. I fixed some numbers halfway but they should all be ok approximations. Also the Crit Damage should be higher theoretically, the ones at the beginning i forgot to ass 50% that everyone gets normally, but i had it for everything in the tables.
I’ll test it out later in game and post my comparisons between the two.

Blackcliff at r5 gives 72% increased atk at max stacks, together with the crit dmg, the dmg output can scale evenly with r1 primordial jade at max stacks.
Im building a refinement rank 5 (4 atm) Crescent Pike for Xiao. 2 Viri/ 2Bloodstained build. My team has good energy recharge and elemental orb generation chances with Beidou's ult, xiangling's elem. skill. Pop in barb's elem. skill to increase stamina efficiency and proc electro charged or overloaded depending on the situation. Thanks for the vid man, super informative!

Unfortunatelly not enough currency to buy the blackcliff T_T I have my Crescent Pike refine 4, but probably I'll use the Deathmatch on Xiao, at the moment. It has less atk value than the other two, but the crit-rate bonus is massive and can help a lot for the build. Also because a Xiao with Blackcliff needs TONS of luck to find god-tier crit rate in the substats, to be able to use a crit-dmg artifact. Because with only his natural crit rate that level-up with ascension, he can't go over 25% and that's pretty low. Instead, with the Deathmatch, I can use those two crit rate value and at the same time I can focus only on crit dmg artifacts and tons of crit-dmg in the substats, instead of searching for crit rate, which value is lower than crit-dmg in the substats.
Just so you know the bonus atk% passive on crescent pike doesnt work on xiao's slam spam ult why did is say that? Because if you read the crescent pike passive the bonus atk% is only on normal and charge atk i doesnt say anything abour plunge atk

The only bad thing from crescent pike that the passive doesnt work with plunge atk( btw you can spam like 9 plunge atk when his in burst state and do not underestimate the plunge atk's dmg its to op with only 1 burst can clean an entire hilicurl camp lol)

I never thought there would be a day in which I would wish to get a 5 star weapon on standard banner, I have 47 free rolls from fates and still haven't gotten anything. Not even a single character aside from Barbara and Kaeya. I just hope my luck isn't as bad in xiao's banner

Favonius Lance for consistant bursts but that means you are having a good healer to back him up
