love how he said he's surprised that they added a male character. its not all that unusual considering genshin was made by mihoyo. honkai impact doesn't have a single male character. they're all female. they even turned nikola tesla and albert einstein into waifus. genshin has a lot more female characters than male. ever since 3.0 came out, every time they released a male character, 1 or 2 female characters would be released alongside them. for example, with tignari, collei and dori were released. with cyno, candace and nilou were released. with scara, faruzan was released. with alhaitham, yaoyao was released. in the next patch, they'd release dehya alongside mika. in the liyue archon quest, ganyu addressed lesser lord kusanali with "he" but mihoyo later changed it to she so they could give nahida a female model. among the archons, there's now only 2 male and the rest of the 5 are female. i know archons are genderless but still. they may release more male fatui harbingers than female cuz now with signora gone, there can be 3 playable female harbingers and 7 playable male harbingers including scara, childe as well as the director, jester. but i have feeling that they won't make dottore and pantalone playable cuz they don't visions and pulcinella and jester cuz their models are very different from the usual male model. just like how signora's model was taller than the usual female model. even with more male harbingers, they still won't be able to fix the male female ration. tears of themis, the game that focuses on husbandos only doesn't get much love from mihoyo either. it is a dating game but its not hard to tell how much better genshin and honkai are compared to tears of themis. honkai star rail has a good male female ratio. lets hope they can keep that up.
Man want to play the game but is worried about his community. Also he has a wrong opinion about the game (ecchi, no man, pedo, weeb with no substance type of game) and if he goes into it with that hes not gonna enjoy it. Eventually he will downplay the game (with help of his community), characters et will stop half way through it just like FF14. He needs to be prepared and warned the game and its Lore is HUGE but skater in story quests, characters stories, world quests, dailies and events and if he dont like to read or appreciate hella metaphorical things he will NOT like the game and drop it. For me he should not play the game
