I've been saying this for a long time. The online community is very convinced we are the majority but we are simply not. They want Genshin to be a game that Hoyo never intended for it to be and have in turn made themselves mad. I'm very content with the amount of content, granted I haven't finished everything in the game currently, but when I do I play lots of other games and have a job. I'll be fine.
Genshin Target a very specific demographic so for the people that is outside of that demographic might find genshin "weird" or "Problematic"
The person who basically that genshin music is lackluster is just coping. I just feel like they said that more out of bitterness than bias.
There are many things wrong with genshin, music is NOT one of them.
Being an adult with a full time job, Genshin is perfect for me, I'm a 1.0 player with +1200 days active and have gotten 36* since about 2.6 (I also spend about $1000/year on the game) with 1180 achievements/100% exploration everywhere, and the friends I play with are in similar situations. Like I can tell the current patch has a little less content but it's honestly great for me since I can focus on other things irl (and teapot and tcg in Genshin sometimes). But I'm also very excited when we get bigger patches with chockful of new content, new quests, new maps. I play Genshin for the stories, characters, music and exploration first, combat isn't very important to me (yet I still pull for 5* weapons and constellations lol). It doesn't need to be more for me.
Also here's my tepid take, I feel like 'rewarding hardcore players' is kinda tricky, because how do you reward hardcore players without giving FOMO to more casual players? and what are 'hardcore players'? Whales with 50cv on set artifacts? F2P minmaxers? All these demographics have a damage gap that can't be made up with a single type of combat content, or it would need to be content that doesn't have significant rewards, but then, why would players play it? The ones playing it would just accuse Hoyo of being stingy.
And surveys probably aren't entirely reliable to Hoyo either, when a lot of Content Creators whine about the lack of endgame content, their viewers tend to mirror them, even though these same viewers aren't getting 36* in their own Abyss or even attempting the harder optional levels of combat events (while I, who has no issues with the current state of the game, barely write anything in the surveys anymore, except improving Dehya's multipliers lol). I think there's need for balance, but I don't think that balance is gonna be struck as easily as some loud CCs seems to think.
Sorry for ranting lol.
Genshin is just a very big visual novel with a side of 3D open world combat honestly
