Allegories of Water – Nymph's Dream (Genshin Impact Lore)

The Nymph’s Dream artifact set tells the story of a few researchers from Fontaine during the Cataclysm, although in a more allegorical sense. In this video, I go over this lore, as well as some theories I have regarding the mysteries behind this set.

  1. thank you so much for this video! with all the allegories, censoring, and needing the notes to get the full picture, reading the artifact set was incredibly confusing and hard to understand. thank you for putting this together in a more understandable way! it's some pretty interesting lore, for sure.

  2. For me the Director is The previous hydro archon.
As for the vice director ? Please enlight me if im wrong but didnt the set says that she fall in a deep slumber in the ocean !?? She didnt made it to Khaenri'ha like the Director did.

As for The princess in the tower that was recued by the director and brought back to Fontaine is somewhat a good candidate to be Focalors ??!! But rescued from what ? Who? Where ?
Is there a possibility that Focalors is Khaenri'han ? Idk
This set made it seems like Fontaine and Khaenri'ha are deeply linked. The one who thought of creating à Kingdom of machines it can either be Fontaine or Khaenri'ha, if its the later that means the founder of Khaenri'ha was Fontainois

The two nations are about innovations and progress anyway so it can be either

I really loved this video, u did a great job, it helped me to better understand what is incoming

  4. You didn't mention the most intriguing part, Rene's prophesy in the fell dragon monocle.
"The star-beasts shall drink the amniotic fluid of the world dry. A hundred years from then, all life on its surface shall be wiped away."

"I will surely return to save all souls. Ten years, even a hundred years may pass, but I shall be reborn as a new universe."

  5. Since you've made educated guesses on how the fontaine archon quest might go perhaps you can theorize on how Lyney and Lynette will influence it?

We all know that characters that appear in the travail trailer have and will be important characters in their respective regions' story so i think speculating on how this duo would do should be a fun thought experiment atleast

  6. What fascinated me about this set is, well, its name- *Nymph*.
Fountaine seems to be a nation where 'Spring Fairies' or Nymphs, perhaps elemental creatures created by the Hydro Archon, are common folk like the Aranara or the Pari, alongside the Lochfolk OR…
    Are perhaps descendants of Seeles.

No other land has really talked about fairies that are actual fairies- Nymphs are a type of water fairy or sprite, and is the name for what a 'Spring Fairy' is, so perhaps Rene was different because she was a Water Sprite, and thus was more easily corrupted by either Abyssal corruption, or corruption via pollution of the main water body she came out of since that's how Fairies can 'turn bad'.

The thing is, that if by the off chance, it really turns out that Nymphs were to be descendants of Seeles and not elemental creatures by the Hydro Archon, if they were remnants of the accursed race… why would they be allowed to live in Fountaine, the city of Justice being watched over by Celestia?
