In Honaki Star Rail one of the curios of Herta's space station is a Joy Filteration Set – which basically eradicates all sorts of happy emotions and it looks a lot like the cube's that the unknown god used on the traveller's sibling perhaps that is why the sibling always looks so serious or upset in whatever interactions we have with them in the dainsleif quests . Also perhaps these are the same cubes that surround irminsul as a way to maybe maybe withdraw some of it's knowledge?

i decided to play aether ( i wanted lumi but went for lore 😭) but it makes sense since as for her at least she doesn't seem someone that would be angry easily. one of my theory is that the excess of visions of the red sky and contact with the red cubes could probably work like some sort of "drVg". Like in monster high 13 wishes, if shadow jinnie whispered in the shadows, the one who listened would certainly obay, but i think lumine or aether being told by the cubes that they are khaenriah's prince/princess and saw that nation falling, the cubes may've whispered "it's the seven's fault" now they won't come home with us unless they got revenge
