Mihoyo is not an idiot company. They will do anything for the sake of profit. BUT the reason why Mihoyo don't do anything about your complains and still confident despite of this drama is because the majority of the players (THE Casual players) which are the true target market of the game is either satisfied of current state of the game or doesn't care at all as long as they can play the game, give money and get waifu! So in Mihoyo's perspective "Why would I care about the minority if I can still make money with less effort from majority?". It either suck it up, swallow and play the game OR leave and uninstall the game.
It's really telling those "You're just greedy" comments came from people whose first (and probably only) gacha game is Genshin, I feel really bad for them ngl
I'm tired of trash talking on "3 wishes for 3 years", which wasn't what the dev said on the live stream. Straight off misinformation and sensationalization. That's why I'm not partaking in the drama.
Play another game. oh my god. why you have to love a woman who doesn't love you? because she is perfect? because of her curve? there are a lot of woman who don't have these criteria but can give you comfort better than what you simp for. I stopped playing Genshin since I know Genshin didn't appreciate their players. I start playing ToF and Eversoul and I get more fun than I play Genshin. If that game disappoint you, leave it. love those who appriciate your love, do not force them to appreciate your genuine love if they decide they won't appreciate your existence at all.
The boycott wouldn't work, not just because Genshin players have no willpower. Because, well. The boycott would be to force the developers to improve the game. The game you want to play.
It's just sad to see that my friends still play the game that is run by hungry shark devs. I don't want to be an asshole to them and blatantly say the truth, or else I'm gonna make them cry on the spot.

Nothing but facts, I hope that Wuthering Waves is a major success and shows the braindead genshin fanbase what a good game is. Unfortunately, the Genshin fanbase is also mostly anti-social mentally deranged kids who either attack or play the victim at any slight disagreement. Its crazy cause I stopped playing for damn near 18 months just to come back to a game that did not get any better whatsoever. Its so weird why the fanbase is somehow the only group of people who do not want free stuff 💀 They keep bringing up the fact that its F2P but the fact is most people end up spending way more money on Genshin than any other game they actually played for. oh yeah, the whole "3 years for 3 pulls" is basically the extra amount sent to mail. it's the same amount since 2021. We also get 10 for login bonus for a week. idk why people make fuss of it now. they literally doing the same amount of stuff since 2021, no more no less.
Also you said you played Brave Frontier, you should know how that game gacha system sucks and actually leeching your money.
Well im not trying to say a comparison to the games here but you should actually look at the person whos the producer from honkai 3rd to genshin and their history to see why genshin impact is falling cause this same drama we're having here is mainly cause of cai haoyu being a bad producer an actually ignoring his community and also the reason why Honkai Impact fell before David took over and become the producer for honkai StarRail amd honkai 3rd he appreciates his community to say (but this is only my speculation when i looked into it and played my games history with this company)

It’s legit the same thing every year. New region, game pops off, game becomes dead asf, company gives literal crumbs to players, they eat that shit up. Legit went back to nikke and they gave 127 free pulls for anniversary and their rates are better.
After seeing revenue spent on the Xianyun and Nahida banner recently, I realize that the players don't take this seriously enough. I'm still gonna stop playing and spending money on Genshin Impact even though it looks like I'm the only one doing so in my group.
I enjoyed watching the content creators squirm about “not pulling during 4.4” 😂 and I can already see them fidgeting and sweat trickling down their nonexistent hairlines….
The only problem with Path 1, is that they win even when the game dies. The only problem they'll have is figuring out how to move the absurdly massive sack of cash they've drained from their players with mediocre garbage. So even when they finally do lose, they'll still be walking out as the winners. Not my problem though, since I was one of the first players of this game that gave up and left, and I don't regret it. These people can keep their garbage lol.

The thing isn't logging in. One guy explained that you SHOULD play the game. But don't spend ANY money. Be completely free to play, but play BECAUSE if you keep playing and not spending anything, they're going to see that no one is spending anything.

genshin is my hyperfixation atm, has been for a bit over a year. I’m too in love with the characters, and I enjoy the gameplay for the most part. I wouldn’t be able to boycott tbh, but I do hope things will improve. the rewards suck. lots of the fan base does too. I don’t think the boycott will go well, but hoyo tends to listen to their chinese players moreso, and I believe this whole current drama started mostly with them. the only time hoyo really listened to feedback and changed something in the game was with zhongli, because the chinese community took offence. so, here’s hoping they actually listen this time.. though I doubt it.
one thing though, I don’t thing it’s a great thing to generalise all genshin players as degenerates or say that the players are the problem for enjoying something? sure the company sucks. but the game is fun for a lot of people. there’s a lot of people attacking those who won’t do the boycott too, which is stupid. yes, the company sucks, things need improving, but forcing people to give up doing something they love? it’s just going to make things worse imo.
point being. a working boycott would be nice, albeit likely won’t work, but players really shouldn’t be forced into it :p
oh, and when people said the fontaine update was peak, I don’t think they meant rewards. yes fontaine rewards are nicer than some other places (so little common chests and a lot of higher level ones) but the main thing that improved was the story writing and exploration is alot more fun and refreshing with fontaines whole underwater thing, and the pneuma/ousia mechanic was new and somewhat interesting
To be fair, the people complaining now are probably the same people as back then. Me included. I personally have quit multiple times. Hopefully WuWa can scratch that anime open world action rpg itch for me, so I don't come crawling back to genshin.

There were touches of tampering found since the sales appeared as 15th to some people, and then the news channels all say about the banner being at an all time high during the first 2 days. Plus, it was established before that they used bots – and tampered with ratings to make most of the 1 star ratings disappear. This way, they would be able to destabilise the boycott due to people doubting each other

Genshin was my first gacha game. I think in popularity its only gacha game which people know globally who dont understand word gacha or seen more than few games. They watch anime and 'oh genshin has anime like characters and story'. Its great but only till that. True gacha games are getting so better now. I am very causal in genshin since early 3.1 or 3.2. Didnt wish for Furina because she is a ploy for people to go for healers which will change with next archon who probably dont want healers in team. And for what abyss and no end game.
Tower and PGR aren't available in my country and in many. I still play PGR and snowbreak and other games, just enjoy Genshin for music and story. Don't expect much from characters their co-dependency arc with Nahida just made me gave up. Didnt wish for any Fontaine characters.

So the thumbnail is true "You reap what you Sow". Also there is a saying "Never bite the hands that feed."

Houkai Gakuen 2 is their first successful game, not made them world famous, but give them the basics to improve. Honkai Impact 3rd is their MOST successful game. Yeah, not Genshin. Every game mechanics every graphical improvement everything is developed in that game, and other gacha games started to build around it, one of the first is PGR released before Genshin was a thing.. Now Honkai Star Rail in many months of 2023 made MORE money than Genshin itself. And it's always there on the top 5 of the most profitable games list. So, what is Genshin? Just a side project, like Tears of Themis, a Honkai spinoff nothing more. So what made it so popular? The fact, that it was released during the COVID lockdown, when everyone were forced to sit at home and play games. That's all.
Blaming Hoyoverse that they not give the same attention to a side game, what they give to their main is a joke. Because Genshin just a side game, it's overhyped, but it's nothing more than Tears of Themis. I kindly recommend you (Yes you who read this comment) to take your time, and take a look at Honkai Impact 3rd, the game elements that are in that game longer than Genshin even exist, and every change of it's comming Part 2 update.
