I completely agree that sucrose national will probably underperform in the hands of a new player compared to most 5* hypercarry teams (both because the team is harder to play and the constellation problem). But something that is worth mentioning is that you will never regret investing in these units compared to other 4*. At least 1 one them will be used in almost all teams in the game, with some exceptions of course and that will depend from account to account. And as long as you (unfortunately) keep playing genshin, you will use these characters. Also the constellation problem is kinda mitigated by the starglitter shop (copium). Other than that, great video my dude.
I know this is true cause I have faced this. My national team is not national. Everyone who recommends national are very old players or who got most of them in less time and are only building them for months. It takes a lot of time and mora ofc.
Calling national mediocre is quite the take considering that the team featured here actually won the speed run competition for low star investment. Of course you should still build these characters because they are all versatile and powerful. You can replace a low con character with a 5 star like Yelan or Furina. The c4 Xiangling is the real gate keeper here but she is one of the easier 4 stars to get since you get a copy for free and you can just buy her cons in the shop.
Statistically speaking the more characters that get added to the pool 4 star pool, the less accessible they become. In the 1.x and 2.x days it was reasonable to assume people would obtain many copies of bennet, xiangling, and xingqiu over time, but now that's just not true. They're getting out performed AND it's harder to get them.
Xiangling leaves a lot to be desired at pre C3, C4.Also, make sure to have atleast 200% ER, to pyronado consistently.
C0 Xingqiu can carry you through the abyss too(in dendro and vape team comps that aren't national), at C6 his DPS becomes comparable to C0 Yelan.
Benett needs C1, C5 and a high base atk sword to be fully geared up.
Surcrose can literally suck at C0, you need her up to C6 and a good chunk of em to be a good driver(At that point pull for kazuha or venti man, they are flexible and strong in more than 2 teams).
This, if is a new player the best to recommend is a hyperbloom team, national scale a lot with vertical investiment and is hard to a new player have these 4 star constelations/ good artifacts. Characters like Alhaitham and Neuvillette is also a good sugestion cause you can have mediocre investiment and clear abyss easily.
I was there when people skip Sucrose from mid 1.1 to 2.0 😒
Kazuha indirectly save her and showed to everyone how underrated was 🤷
She always been a helpful character, without EM buff from 1.6, however does needed some player skills since she has some issue placement with elemental burst.
Especially if are enemies behind her. This is only noticeable in Abyss
Genshin abyss meta is dead anyways. Pull 1+1 Neuvi and archon hyperbloom and you can macro abysses just like that. To do anything else is because you don't care that much about easy to use meta.
if you're a beginner, they're much better for you bcz you won't get 5 units early, investing on them on early ar is still worth it cause you'd probably use them in the future, even if you do get a 5 star dps unit, you'd still gonna use them in some comps
I think there really needs to be a discussion about "relateability" when it comes to genshin TC content creation. Who is the target audience and is your account relateable to it? Assuming that just because you don't have 5* weapons or cons you are anywhere close to the average new player or non-informed casual is just very wrong. Veterans are "time whales" we have spent years grinding artifacts, talents etc. We have had free primo gems from events and logins that a new player can never catch up on without spending thousands. We have passively accumulated cons on most 4*s while the pool was smaller or simply when we pulled multiple banners that featured them. There are even event weapons that most likely will never come back but are (f2p) BiS for some characters. Then there are also the 4* gacha weapons which are even more elusive than 4* cons. I am a welkin player since launch who also bought BP for a year and topped up once with the 1st year double bonus on the big packs, I don't have a fricking sac sword at all. So my Xingqiu can literally not quad vape his E.
There is also the flaw of the "reviewer" account that collects most new 5* units instead of going for cons and weapons on the ones they like. This sort of account style makes sense for content creators but it isn't exactly something most players care about emulating themselves. "More options is more fun than stronger options" is the take that generally is brought forth to support the recommendation of this horizontal investment style. It certainly applies to some players who care about the combat system above all else but given that this is a characterbased RPG that most people play for their 1-2 waifu/husbando characters its not universal. Characters that don't get used might as well not be on your account.
So what should be done? Put more emphasis on constellations contribution to 4* characters when talking about them, mention the exact damage difference between c0 and c4/6. Talk about availability of 4* weapons and alternatives but also mention when the cope version just doesn't cut it.
Overall It would just be better to make videos educating on teambuilding skills than giving recommendations of an account you have no info on. Account review content in structured form is probably the best version of EDU content in genshin. You see someone going through the steps to evaluate the account and can learn their thought process. With enough videos like that out there you will also eventually find one that overlaps with your account and can copy a team.
honestly thank you for this, i don't think people realize how hard it is to get cons on 4 stars. i've been playing for almost 2 years and i didn't get xiangling to C4 until YESTERDAY. she just hasn't been on any banners i wanna wish on, and i always had other characters i'd prefer to spend starglitter on. i only decided to go for this banner bc i wouldn't mind getting cyno in the process (who i got early, because of course).
i also think a lot of theory crafters really overhype sucrose. i get that this is mostly to counteract the idea that she's just worse than kazuha because she's a 4 star, which i get. sucrose and kazuha are basically sidegrades to one another, and which one you play depends on the specific team. but at this point i would say kazuha is legitimately more accessible than sucrose, because you can at least guarantee him. i was lucky enough to pull one copy of sucrose early on, and since then i haven't pulled a SINGLE constellation of her. and the 4 star pool is even more diluted now!
I'd agree with it being a bad idea to solo-focus on getting a national in a new account, but since you're gonna get some of these 4 stars while pulling for 5 stars you want anyway, I'd say it's still recommended to at least have national available, tho international definitely better/more fun.
International
Nilou take was wrong on her wanting that support on her team.
I'm a new player but just got C4 Xiangling and C2 Kuki pulling for Ayato… so think I can build teams for Hyper and National right?
what is the song at 5:40?

Only good thing about national team is that all of them are er gods. 😊

So hyperbloom and national are out; can't wait to find out what other teams we should not recommend to new players.

i just had 1 question, then what team is good for newbie?
surely using a controversial (wrongly) topic to drag down hyperbloom that super f2p for gaining viewers lmfao
