  2. Feels like everyone is so goated in the fontaine archon quest and there's no useless and shit characters. There's actual consequences behind everything that is happening like the prophecy being real based on the furina fountain voiceline, primordial sea water dissolving the people of fontaine, npcs getting killed on-screen, lyney and lynette being fatui as the orphans of house of the hearth and their sad but effective backstory, the oratrice being unreliable, the oceanid with all the girl victims souls drown vacher, childe losing control of his vision and getting destroyed by neuvillette in the middle of his foul legacy while childe scratches him etc. Like they even brought back childe not out of pure fanservice, but because he still has interesting stories to tell like his experience with the abyss, master skirk, how foul legacy affected the hydro dragon even though childe is just a mortal human etc.

They definitely didn't hold back with the archon quest

  3. I agree Fontaine's story was great, the indications of Nuevillete being the hydro dragon were great, the characters like Navia, Furina, lynny feels like they are doing something as well. Npcs like the two guards of navia, vacher are great, though vacher's context was very little but enough give the links needed. Overall 7.5/10 story.

  4. Deserved praise for this story. I fkn LOVED it. It was so good. The pacing of it too. Very much a breath of fresh air.

And yes, 100% Neuvillette is the hydro dragon. If not, I will be disappointed. They basically confirmed it to us with the rain. Heck, I even took screenshots of the dialogue just to proof it to those who paid less attention. Collecting evidence xD
I hope the game continues with the good writing. It adds so much quality to it.

  5. The trials and investigations are so much fun! I hope there will be events after Fontaine ends that still use detective stories/trials. I just hope they come up with a fun mechanic for natlan because it might be difficult to follow up.

  7. I haven't finished the Fontaine archon quests so far yet (still just started act 2) but i must say, focalors has very quickly become my favorite archon
and also i feel the same quality that sumeru's archon quests had which i am very happy about
update: finally finished act 2 and holy shit this is way better than most of the story so far bruh

  8. Omg thank you i try explaining this to my sister, yes we know genshin is dark but the only time you can get dark lore is by books and reading, sometimes side quest, but we want to see that in main quest to, and also i like how Aether is having opinion, he not easy forgive ppl just because they apologized, Aether started to express his feeling more in that character development.

  9. At least you're not like some of the moronic content creators who directly put Fontaine story beats up as their thumbnail and title them as "Childe vs Chief Justice fight scene" literally 2 days after the region came out. They just up and spoil it in the thumbnail instead of being more creative with their titles and thumbnails. I respect you for that.

I'm not someone who seeks dark themes in stories and I'm glad Genshin isn't 100% like that and it better stay that way. I never mind it at all, but I will be pissed if that's all the game is. Not everyone likes nothing, but dark themes in anything despite that at times they can bring some very good intrigue. I personally liked all of the story quest in all regions so far excluding certain characters that won't shut up (Yoimiya) aside from Paimon. Zhongli gets a pass.

Aside from my views on dark themes yes, Fontaine's story was epic so far. Everyone see's things differently in any form of storytelling and I myself found it to be very interactive instead of clicking through endless text reading even though I do read all of everything in this game. Playing the role of a detective and an attorney while trying to crack the case of a murder and disappearance was actually gun and engaging. This nation's swmming mechanics are done very well and are responsive. I'm not a big fan of the underwater combat though since you have to copy wnemy abilities to even attack anything below, but it all still works.

  10. I completely agree with this video. For me personally, I was already invested in Genshin's story but it was only until Sumeru that it really picked up for me.

Mondstadt's story was good in my opinion since it worked as an introduction to Genshin and a neat conclusion for Mondstadt's story and its important characters (i.e. Venti) as a whole.

Liyue's story made me want more. Felt like there wasn't enough but still pretty solid.

Inazuma hooked me due to it's premise. An Archon being our enemy sounded AWESOME, so naturally I was invested. While the 1st 2 acts were pretty good the last act kinda went WAY too fast with a lot of story beats and characters not being explored nearly enough, and the ending didn't wrap up as neatly as I thought despite me being hyped at the climax of the action. I feel like they fumbled there, but I still liked it anyway.

Then Sumeru came along and oh boy was I excited! The Samsara arc actually had me at the edge of my seat as the Traveler slowly figured out what was going on and Nahida giving us little hints. But it was Scara's arc that really got me hype. The fact the multiple characters that we actually care about got involved for an extended period of time (for most of Sumeru's story), was a breath of fresh air and really brought the story to life. Not to mention Dottore! Overall the best experience at the time.

And now we have Fontaine! I didn't know what I was expecting but at this point in time, the Archon quests for Fontaine are probably the best they've ever been. I was hooked the entire way through and Soul pretty much hit all the reasons why I liked it so much. I didn't think I'd end up like Navia, Lyney and Lynette as much as I did. Furina is easily the most entertaining Archon to watch and I can't wait to see what they do with her. Neuvilette is also very interesting and I really want to see his secret be revealed. This comment is already too long so I'll stop there.

Overall, I'm very impressed with the improvement that Hoyoverse has made for both the Archon quests and Story Quest and I only hope it gets better from here!

  11. I like Raiden for her backstory I'm one of those people. BuT the inazuma story was just bad. I hate it…. fountaine is really entertaining I love that they explain alot of the story in game not in the lore

    Furina is awesome haha

  12. I don't have complains about fontaine archon quest YET because it's going to be end in 4.2

But the archon quest II is kinda weird except furina it was focused on navia and it's felt like character story quest then archon quest well i don't mind i enjoyed the quest but i hope they focus on furina more because the archon quest going to be have atleast 6-7 parts until 4.2

  13. I agree it's the first story where I actually never skipped dialogue. Paimon is still not that, that's kinda unfortunate, but I think her voice has become less annoying. I wished that we could see a compleat fight between child and all the guards (I love child) and it sucks that Neuvilette silenced him before he could even go in his full legacy mode (that's just kinda respectless) but it was a very cool story and I know that they wana hipe Neuvillette up cuz he's a 4.1 character.

  14. I've always enjoyed the lore of genshin but I can't deny I've sometimes felt extremely bored throughout the story. Fontaine was for once different though, I haven't felt bored ONCE during both act 1 and 2. Now I just hope they will keep it up for the rest of the acts. Btw, the voice actors were amazing. I loved all of the voice actors' preformances. I've always thought the ENG voice actors were superior to the other langages, which usually isn't the case in anime related things so that is amazing. Props to them!

  15. Fontaine's story is probably gonna be the best in the game but Sumeru also had great story. And also if you went through the hours playing the Jeht world quest until the end you would know that it is also VERY dark. (I was actually quite disturbed)

  16. I felt that the archon quest was really good too. Also I’m glad hoyoverse has started stepping up when it comes to character story quests. We actually learn backstory elements on peoples character, and it’s not locked in behind lore. I hope Genshin Impact continues this. Because now I actually have a reason to want to do storyquests

  17. Not gonna lie, I have noticed story improving during Sumeru archon quest (loved the Haruhi Suzumiya bit a lot), but story got ruined for me because of npcs being locked in other quests. But Fontaine is a league above it. I 100% agree with your takes, darker themes, less Paimon bs and worthless banter. I did not feel bored for a second. Ace Attorney bits added a lot of fun factor as well since I love the series. 10/10 so far, hope it continues like that in future regions.

  18. I already loved Lyney, already wanted to pull him. I pulled him, and then I played the archon quest. I loved him even more afterwards, and now I must have to protect him at all costs. The characters feel so much better, more complex, and the plotline feels so much better. The fact that murder straight up happens and they possibly hint to human trafficking in Lynettes backstory. Overall, I feel like Fontaine was a lot more of a mature region, and there's still so much going onwards. I'm looking foward to seeing more about the heart of the hearth in particular.

( also how could you say that Lyney gameplay is so nice 😭

  19. Ngl, Raiden's shitty writing (and Inazuma's storyline in general) gave me ptsd. Even during Sumeru, I was sort of wary of Nahida bc I hate loli characters (I ended up appreciating her story) When I saw Furina's appearances, I thought it was going to be another situation where she does nefarious shit and the audience is supposed to be okay with it and forgive her. Luckily, at least for now, my suspicions were wrong. I really like where her character is going and I can't wait to see how the story in Fontaine unfolds because it's very promising, definitely my favorite nation so far. I'm not about to defend Furina's character with my life tho. Some people find her annoying and I can totally understand why, she's not for everyone. Not everyone is into brat characters lol

  20. As someone who consumes another type of media apart from gacha games, the story has always been bad
The only story arc i could actually say i genuinely enjoyed was the sabs festival in 3.0, it wouldve been even better if the girl died but it is what it is
    3.0 would be a 8/10
    4.0 would be an 7/10
The dialogue is extremely grueling, and even if the actual story is a masterpiece it wont be truly great unless the game stops babying you throughout the entire thing, aka unless paimon is gone

  21. Very understandable. I have Multiple friends who just don’t want to listen to the story in game unlike me. It’s frustrating to see them skip the story, but we gotta understand that people have different tastes and some like games heavy in story and cutscenes like say Death Stranding and some like games with just, full on gameplay with minimal story, like Doom Eternal.
But you know what’s un-fkin-forgivable? Playing on GODDAMN 500% saturation!

  22. The first time I search "Vacher" after just seeing that scene during real night time in my timezone is one of the best jumpscare experiences I had, seeing the description of the historical figure being of serial killer and necrophiliac in the first page result of the wikipedia, it was a silly experience for me

  23. I assume you didnt play or at least pay attention to the world quest, cause that's where lot of interesting bit happen. children sacrifice, assassination, clan homicide, abyss experiment, etc. yes that same long, boring, and not voiced world quest

  24. The story of Genshin really become good on Sumeru and I think they will improve the story telling as we go on
As someone who like lore I agree with you that all the dark themes are all hidden in books and artifact like the horrible things people does to Ruu and the sunchildren in Enka and more I can't count but it's all hidden in books and we can't see it in action which is sad
I'm glad that the story shows us dark themes it's fun and engaging to experience it.
