Glad a lot of people are giving their thoughts on this! Also yes, burnout does not equate to a games success or failure and it's important to know the differences between the two, overall I think this video is still well put together and sends a very good message but the overall theme of "is it dead" was probably not the best way to put it when it's mainly about burnout

I agree with most of what you said… but i still do daily quests and waste resin, even if im burn out: it doesnt kill my joy, it just make me slightly sad. If i have to stretch this more: game is like a life, you have good and bad times – older we get, less interested we are in modern "good" and much more focus in modern "bad". Same is for gatcha system, you want "this to work out" (5* chara), payed, tried and yet, it failed… there will be another chance, its up to you how well you prepare… by effort, or money.
27:00 – You really hit me with that example.
The part about getting attached to games reminded me of how I haven't uninstalled my old Stardew Valley modpack which I haven't played in 3 years, but rarely open just to run around the fully decorated house, check the spouse's 3 random daily dialogues and think the very same things said in the video lol
For every game that you play it is also important to recognize when to take a break. I'm playing Genshin since 2020 and I have yet to experience Genshin Burnout. That is because I also play lots of other games, have a social life, don't care much about combat and will be starting a job soon (I'm done with school now)
Please always listen to yourself. Genshin might not be ideal for those who just want to experience combat.
😂😂 people like this are why the fandom is Toxic. People like this play 24/7 and complain about everything and I laugh at crybabies like you. I enjoy all of the game. You rush to play where as I never rush so yes you feel that way cause YOU RUSHED ENDGAME! Mofo
I haven't missed a day since starting late into patch 1.5 & wouldn't have bothered had my existing gacha Onigiri not closed it's NA server. Spent close to 8yrs in Onigiri & will keep on keeping on in Genshin until the servers go dark.
After watching a lot of videos similar to this I always feel confused deep inside. I'm playing genshin for almost 2,5 years now and I believe I will continue playing it at least till the day when I finish Snezhnaya storyline. I've heard a lot of critics about this game that sometimes I could've agreed with and most of the time could not, but anyways I always felt like I'm just stupid or something. A lot of my friends left the game too, so even though I'm not really much into co-op it feels really lonely sometimes… or like I'm just in the wrong. I still like the game and do not feel like I force myself into playing it.
I guess I'm just lucky. I'm really patient, (even quite stubborn sometimes lol) that's why life of a f2p is ok for me, I never felt broken or something if I didn't get a 5-star character or weapon I wanted, because I always knew that they will have a comeback, today I have almost every character I want (there are 49 altogether and 16 5-stars, I'm proud of myself ^^) and I have no problems with waiting a little more if I need. I still love lore and characters, never miss dialogues XD Some characters I love more, some less, same with plot. But there's one thing I will love forever. Exploring the world and taking thousands of pictures (and getting all the achievements possible) is my true passion. When the real world looks like hell, Genshin just makes me feel like home really. Music is op as well (I'm ready to give my soul to Yu-Peng-Chen ahahah). For me something I will really miss is the feeling of being lost in a completely new region or random place, trying to get somewhere when you're a newbie. Now it feels very different when you already know all the map by heart, but there are a lot new regions to come soon, new characters, cultures and ect so I am still happy with everything I have now in this game))
Never cared much about Abyss and numbers. If my team is just stable it's a win for me. I used to try to build my characters as pro, but I'm not pro, just a person who feels unconfident seeing some players being harassed and offended for having low damage hahahahhah
same im lucky i like genshin for the story so im always excited when theres new archon quest.
I think we used to want many characters before their banners were out, was because we were introduced to them during the story, but now we mostly just know names and appearances instead of having met them and liking them for them. Of course I'm not nearly done playing even tho all my maps are 100 and my quest list and story and hang outs has been emptied fully but I'm just saying, I am saving my primos but I'm not toooo excited for any of the new characters. like I'm more excited about Pantalone! than any of the new people
Genshin is a big loop.
New area, people get excited.
Exploration, people complain its too much.
Game slows down a bit, everyone says its dead.
New area, people get excited.
Rinse and repeat.
People have been saying Genshin is dead or dying since 2021, and guess what? The player count just keeps going up.
Genshin just got so boring to me so I quit it 😭 idk if I’m going to come back to it but maybe one day
And no, I haven’t been playing since it released and I have also been taking breaks. But now I just have no idea what to do in it even though there are updates, events and stuff
But it could also be because of storage LMAO
Actually, I play less the game this year but I still love the game! I've joined 2 days of Hoyo Fest with tons of fun with Genshin fellows. The cause that makes you hate the game more is the thought that you have to play the game every day!
for me is mostly that since i am usually not interested in a lot of the new characters i just dont really want to grind anymore, i've got no reason to do that since i am not waiting to get anyone new. for example out of the entirety of sumero i only rolled for nahida, nilou, and dehya (who turned out to be just hot garbage but since i liked her design when the first sumeru trailer released i still rolled for her.), and even inazuma i only rolled for yoimiya and yae miko. unfortunately the characters are the content and if i am not raising someone new i have no reason to use up my resin anymore.
I am impressed with how you think about the game. You have a very healthy mentality about it. I’m gonna try to do the same myself, do what I enjoy and don’t worry about the rest 🙂 And I’m so looking forward to Fontain archon quest 🙂
Big difference between burnout and dead. I mean not just for Genshin, if i play a game for 3 years straight, of course I’m gonna feel burnout. I have over 1000 hours on GTA V and 600+ hours on CSGO, these games have more things to do than Genshin and yet I still burnout.
If they dont fix things during fontaine im quiting, will be back when they launch celestia
I play from 1.2 and I'm not feeling burnout but I never cared about numbers nor abyss nor best artifacts nor even spending my resin everyday 😂 I'm so invested in the story though! So I can understand that people who are all about combat can be done with this game
And you loss your pay earning by Genshin Impact
Actually I took more than days 478 break . I have never played this many days ..Of course, I did not take all this continuous period, because I am absent for a while and then I always come back to play the game. I apologize if I didn't explain it correctly, but I always leave the game uninstalled and then come back to download it
Stopped playing Genshin for like a year at one point and came back liking the game more than ever. If you get tired of a game, just stop for a bit you can always come back later
Given the reaction to Fontaine and the special program, I think Genshin is doing just fine and thriving 😝
Folks just need to chill a little with the game. Burnout is really a self manufactured thing.
I dunnu what's wrong with their community when just recently it was number 1 trending on my Youtube and Twitch. They are weird.
FOMO is what burns players
