The part I liked about Dendro is that aside from geo most of the older characters that people have built can still be used they’re just used more efficiently

I feel dendro reactions are like a soup, you can put almost any ingredient in it and it will still turn out great. You don't have to depend so much on crit stats so its very useful for new players. The current spiral abyss in general is filled with enemies that stay close to you which is also convenient.
Your freeze Ayaka team sucks! A level 80 Ayaka for spiral abyss? Really? If you're going to create content at least level up your characters and talents dude! In fact her meta team should include Shenhe instead of rosaria. This is FAR from a proper meta showcase. You're not even doing her rotation consistently…
Honestly I haven't bothered using Ayaka freeze for months now. Every time MHY just stagger bosses on both sides throughout floor 12 making her nigh unusable. Good to see that the old school taser team is still usable. Kinda scuffed using XQ heal against corrosion but the damage is there.
new heros aren't broken, hyperbloom makes them broken XD the only sumeru 5* I went after so far is nahida the rest is using my old electro/hydro heros to set up spread/hyperbloom teams
We've been seeing more bosses lately… in early abyss we often encounter tons of mobs. Regardless, I believe that they will just keep abyss more relevant with incoming characters.
It's quite normal if you struggle here since you're literally using AoE teams for bosses or 1~4 enemies scenario. Even in AoE scenario though, there is Nilou bloom team which is just too braindead strong for multi enemies. Ayaka will stay relevant due to existence of Shenhe imo
The moment Dendro Traveler + Hyperbloom released, most ST team got dethroned for low-invest, high-return category
New meta is very f2p friendly and with low investment you can 36 star easy. But at high investment, for example Childe c0 skyward, Kazuha c2 iron string, Xiangling and Bennet c6 with the catch and Aquila, old meta will outperform new meta.

I took Child National and Raiden National through the Spiral Abyss recently and they still stomp.

I don’t like dendro, haven’t got any dendro characters built and still play my normal hu tao/ganyu/Childe teams in the abyss, and they’re clearing just fine.

Old meta is certainly still relevant. I cleared using Ayaka freeze first half and Hu Tao vape second half. Went back a cleared again with Raiden hyper first half just because I was curious. These older teams require more artifact investment than a hyper bloom team, but it doesn't appear that their peak of capability is that different.

And the epic thing about it, is that some people believe these teams are legit picks for this abyss.
Truth is, these teams were NEVER possible to play against this kind of enemies.
Been playing Ayato (because I don't have Ayaka) freeze and can tell you even with crowned Ayato it really hard work clearing 12 – 1 in under two minutes. Freeze has always been great a smaller group able enemies, Blackcliff does really well (on Ayato or Ayaka) in that scenario. It struggles a bit with boss enemies. Ayaka has an easier to reach damage ceiling but Ayato feels more versatile (He can burst support, Hyper Carry and fit into the new bloom teams). I've also tried him alongside Wanderer hypercary with Yunjin it does alright because I ain't trying to make c1 Faruzan work (she has serious energy problems).

hyperbloom didnt powercreep. it doesnt really outperform, its just a cheat code to make it easier to get the dmg. One thing to consider tho, is that hyperbloom fully functions with only three characters, allowing you to bring a flex. So consider this: you are running lisa, barbara and traveller. Travelle is decent but has er issues, it does get better with cons tho. barbara is a healer so pog and has a decent hydro application on field, but not so much off, and lisa is doable, but still veeery tricky to use–which means that you might need a second character of the same element to keep applying, be it hydro, dendro or electro.
now imagine you are using kuki or raiden instead, with nahida and whatever hydro that also does a lot of dmg on their own. This is massive upgrade and allows you to bring a flex, like an anemo or a cryo, for example. I find that ayaka hyperbloom is stupidly broken. You have all the perks of hyperbloom + freeze + ayakas massive dmg and you don't even have to save her ult cuz it's just extra dmg. And that. is why hyperbloom is broken.
Dendro teams are undoubtedly meta, but HYV has a nice way of rotating teams in and other via enemy resistances, so I don’t think a reaction meta matters much in the long run. Even if you have a bloom team, you’ll likely still want a freeze and vaporize team for other floors (not to mention fun)
When first this game got released Pyro was the damage element and reign supreme. Electro was considered the weakest element.
Look at it now, it's Electro, Dendro and Hydro being the top 3 elements. Also anemo really good btw Kazuha best boy. The rest of the elements are sadge.

My Ayaka freeze team ft. Bennett is the team that's carrying my ass through Floor 12.
freeze team and tazer team is still strong, im still using ayaka/shenhe/kokomi/kazuha freeze team and ayato+raiden tazer since ayato release
but dont bring ayaka 4 blizzard strayer set to A BOSS fight(IMO), you lose the 15% CRIT RATE from cannot freezing the boss and that a DPS loss
instead bring 2 blizz + 2 nobless / 2 blizz + 2 ATK set(shimenawa or gladiator or the ayato set forgot it's name) with minimal 70% CR and 200% CD(more the better) with cryo resonance
and 120% ER or give rosaria/shenhe favonius polearm, if have kazuha give him favonius sword
I've experimented a lot with different teams in this abyss. I'd say I prefer Taser on first and Freeze on second. Freeze destroys 12-1-2 and 12-3-2. It's only the Wolflord that is hard with freeze but is doable if you have good knowledge how to fight it. Taser works great on either chamber, you just to be good at stun locking the wolfs at 12-3-2. I don't feel the performance difference with Hyperbloom is that big. But Hyperbloom feels comfortable this abyss and is pretty investment cheap.
Ganyu is still the best unit in the game when freeze works on one side of abyss but hyperbloom did powercreep Hu Tao and Raiden National.
All the sweat was absorbed by dendro
